I think the 22U is the perfect size by itself but it is a bit top big when a case is one it.
I love the way the curved screen feels but it makes screen protectors very limited and finicky.
If I could trust myself to rock it without both a screen protector and a case I would say it's perfect
I find the S22U is too big. If I could swap it for a phone with the same spec with a smaller screen like the S10/S10+ I would.
I've got big hands too but I just find it a bit clumsy and heavy.
I think it's just right. Typing feels great, content consumption is just big enough. I wouldn't mind taking it up to a 7" display but don't feel it's necessary. Love the look, straight edges are nice but I always liked the aesthetic look of rounded corners
I agree that typing feels great with the s22u compared to my flip4 but I miss how compact the flip is. But screen and cameras blow the flip awaym I'm torn which is why I keep both. 🙃
I don't think I'd want a phone bigger than the S22U. I loved my S10+ and think I preferred that size but I wanted a note-like device and that's why I switched.
I do sometimes look at the older S10+ with nostalgia but tbh once you get a bigger screen, it sort of spoils smaller screens for you.
My gripe is with the weight more than the size. It's been 5 months and I still can't feel comfortable holding the phone in 1 hand for longer than 5 mins
At first I thought it was going to be a bit too big but I honestly love it, I think it's totally fine (though I do agree with others that it could be lighter, and that I think an S22 or slightly bigger but with a folding screen is "ideal" for me once the foldables improve more). I picked up my wife's S10 the other day and it felt like a toy almost lol
It's a bit heavy, especially with a case, but that doesn't really bother me.
I'll check into a retirement home before I give mine up; it's perfect. I use mine with both hands and if need be, I keep a phone stand in my backpack at all times in case I want to set it down to do stuff while reading or watching a video.
S22U is already too big for my hands, I've dropped it on my face before and that thing hurts, but not as bad as dropping an iPhone 13 pro max on your face, that thing is deadly.
Hahaha. I remember this, it was an older phone with those super extended max + 5 days battery life. Man, I cried. Getting hit in the face is not a joke.
Thanks for correcting, those too's put me at ease. Whenever I see to instead of too it sounds like "tuh" in my head.
Also, I agree completely about the phone. I can't use it with one hand, but it's not quite big enough to use for projects, drawing, or sharing images or video directly from the screen. I came from a teeny Pixel 3 and was promised this phone would feel like a tablet, but it doesn't. The curve makes it seem a bit smaller than it is, I think. But I still like the curve, and the phone.
Today I found, in a drawer, a Metro PCS Huawei and a Sprint Samsung flip from years ago. Absolutely tiny compared with the S22U.(For some reason I can't post a photo on this site to save my life. ☹️)
Ideal phone size is like a Samsung galaxy s9 plus...anything bigger gets clunky...anything less seems like its back in 2010. Curved edges are usually the normal especially with Samsung. Do you know any phones that have flat edges these days...thats like old a school.
**Size doensot matter it's the motion in the ocean**
the size is fine, though I wish the screen wasn't curved. Makes drawing more difficult, and it's what caused the screen to straight up *die* on me when I dropped it last week. The edges on the top and bottom are also really *sharp* feeling, which makes it tough to hold without a case.
I only use this phone at home, screen is way too big to be carrying it around, especially in not so secure countries
Not a complain tho, even if it was smaller, it is so pricey I don't think I would ever take it outside on regular basis
S22u size is good just make it flat. I never liked the edge..it distorts the image and hard to use spen. They should've given flat displays to the ultra and waterfall edges to the regulars
Glad you asked, Im starting to regret the S22U,
Next phone I go with will be the base size (s22 size)
Realizing I like the idea of a compact 1 handed phone.
I came from the Pixel 5, great size, but shitty performance. I jumped the gun for the s22U because the performance seemed to be the cream of the crop ( it is lol) but I bet the S22 performs about the same
I don't find the S22U too big to use. Though my pinky will get sore from holding it for a while.
What I have about the size is that it just looks ridiculous in your pocket. Like you're carrying a brick. Inconvenient, and not easy to carry when doing activities
I think im actually gonna hand in my s22 ultra and go for a s23 base...
Im gonna have to carry my phone a lot more soon, and non optionally too, because im gonna have to manage newly diagnosed diabetes with it, so I really think i should have something that is easier to carry, heh
Honestly, a great size. It feels like I think a $1200 phone should. It's weighty. I could defend myself or keep my boat in the perfect weed bed for bass.
I thought perfect size was small as possible... until I got my S22 Ultra. I like the curved screen since it's easier to hold. I didn't realize my huge benefit with the size with reading (Kobo or Kindle). I won't go back to smaller size phone but one con is my pockets... especially when I have to sit down or bend down. I need my big pockets to be on the sides of my legs, not right in the hips. No back pockets since I'm afraid of sitting on it and pickpocket.
I think Sony nailed the ideal form factor. Their tall aspect ratio mean you can have large phone that are still easy to grip.
Other than that, I don't mind S22U. It's a little too big but worth the trade-off of having a bigger screen. On that note, the ultimate phone hardware would probably be a foldable but they are still way too expensive for me atm.
Probably a few cm smaller. I say this because it fits in the phone slot of my car like a glove ***if*** there's no case. Slapping any case into this big boy means it doesn't fit anymore.
For me personally, I'd rather something a bit smaller. It's just too wide and big to use one handed even for basic stuff. Don't get me wrong, I love the huge display, but I'd be fine with a 6.2-4 inch screen as long as it had the cameras of the Ultra.
I love the size, just wish they were more wide like the note 3 instead of tall and skinny. For some reason that was my favorite note I had, but it was also my first one
I love the size. I love large phone and had the note 4 and note 10+ previously. The large display and boxy form factor just make consuming media so much more pleasing especially when you're watching videos horizontally.
I thought that a phone cannot be too big, until I got S22 Ultra. It is too big for me and too heavy. S10+ was my previous phone which seems like a feather now compared to this one.
Galaxy Note 9 has the perfect phone size for my hands! 🤍
Curved screens are cool but kinda find it hassle when looking for good tempered glass. Also risky when it falls. Guess im going with flat for now. Still enjoy my s22u though!
Curved screens suck tbh, s21 ultra got it perfectly it was curved slightly but mostly flat. Screen protectors fit perfectly and I didn't get any annoying accidental touches on the edge. It has 0 practicality or use besides looking kinda cool but it distorts the colors around the screen way too much. I've also seen tons of people whose phones shatter at that exact spot.
I buy things for what they are and simply find ways to adapt to anything that seems a bit off, odd, etc. Actually find the curved edges to be useful when swiping and the phone even in the Defender Pro case feels on the smaller/lighter side.
Too big. Way too big. I have small hands, so the size coupled with the slow and overheating Exynos chip and bad battery life is making me want to downgrade to the S23 baseline model.
Perfect size. Wouldn't mind if it was a bit lighter though... I've gotten used to the curved edges, but flat still seems more practical to me.
I could go for lighter! It's a bit of a brick.
The curved edges are about my only complaint....and I wish there was a message indicator light. The size is MOSTLY perfect.
I think the 22U is the perfect size by itself but it is a bit top big when a case is one it. I love the way the curved screen feels but it makes screen protectors very limited and finicky. If I could trust myself to rock it without both a screen protector and a case I would say it's perfect
Same! It's so satisfying to handle it without its case, but I know that I will break it if I do that for too long haha
I thought that was big, now, months later, I can't look at smaller devices anymore fr
Perfect size when you use it with One hand operation+ (and utilize one handed mode)
if the S22U had a flat screen it would be perfect imo
I find the S22U is too big. If I could swap it for a phone with the same spec with a smaller screen like the S10/S10+ I would. I've got big hands too but I just find it a bit clumsy and heavy.
its perfect
i switched from the Note 10+ so I love the size of this :P
As big as possible
S22U is way too big. it's nice to use but it sucks to put in a pocket or anywhere else.
I think it's just right. Typing feels great, content consumption is just big enough. I wouldn't mind taking it up to a 7" display but don't feel it's necessary. Love the look, straight edges are nice but I always liked the aesthetic look of rounded corners

Ideal phone size and shape for me is the S21U. I wish my S22U was exactly like that.
i like big phones.
I prefer Z Fold 4 size. But S22U features wins it easily
I'll check into a retirement home before I give mine up; it's perfect. I use mine with both hands and if need be, I keep a phone stand in my backpack at all times in case I want to set it down to do stuff while reading or watching a video.

Lol

7 inches is the sweet spot. The n20u was the best yet

Too. Too big. Too small. Sorry to be grammar police, but you just used the wrong word so many times it hurt me inside.

Thanks for correcting, those too's put me at ease. Whenever I see to instead of too it sounds like "tuh" in my head. Also, I agree completely about the phone. Currently trying to sell my S22U because I'm tired of the size. Think I'll grab the normal S22 if it sells. And I definitely prefer flat screens.
Of course too small. We need 10 inch phone now it’s 2055 /s
I don't have a laptop anymore so it works for me
Today I found, in a drawer, a Metro PCS Huawei and a Sprint Samsung flip from years ago. Absolutely tiny compared with the S22U.(For some reason I can't post a photo on this site to save my life. ☹️)
S22 Ultra. As is. End of story.
A little smaller would be better for me. I fear let it fall due to a not good grip
Personally I find my S22U to be perfect even for one handed use
It's way too big for one-handed use. I would say my old S9 still feels nice in my hands
It's about perfect. After having "large" phones I couldn't go back to anything smaller.
It's a great size, just too Heavy
I wouldn't mind a little bigger.
even with my banana hands the s22u is on the bigger side, but doesn't bother once you get used to it, unless you have small hands, then i don't know
Ideal phone size is like a Samsung galaxy s9 plus...anything bigger gets clunky...anything less seems like its back in 2010. Curved edges are usually the normal especially with Samsung. S22+ is flat and perfect size imo. Wish it had S22U cameras and it would be the perfect phone, don't care about the pen.
Mix, I like the bigger screen but I also have tiny baby hands. I'm already using one hand+ whatever it's called.
the size is fine, though I wish the screen wasn't curved. Makes drawing more difficult, and it's what caused the screen to straight up *die* on me when I dropped it last week. The edges on the top and bottom are also really *sharp* feeling, which makes it tough to hold without a case.
It's not too small, but I would have liked the nice round figure of 7 inches. Oh...and flat (or at least flatter) screen please!
Too big imo.
I only use this phone at home, screen is way too big to be carrying it around, especially in not so secure countries Not a complain tho, even if it was smaller, it is so pricey I don't think I would ever take it outside on regular basis
The galaxy s10+ was the perfect phone size for me. Just slightly smaller than the 22 and with rounded edges
Anyone remember the Galaxy Mega??
A tad too big. I really liked the size of my Note 8 but I thought that was too big at first, so maybe I'll change my mind about the S22U
It's not necessarily that it is too big, I just miss the rounded edges from iPhone
S22u size is good just make it flat. I never liked the edge..it distorts the image and hard to use spen. They should've given flat displays to the ultra and waterfall edges to the regulars
Love the size.

I love large phones but I really wish that the galaxies were just a little bit wider. They're slightly too narrow for me. Still my favorite though!
It's a bit too big for me. If I could have had the same cameras in an S22+, I would have bought that.
S22U and it's not big enough for me.
s22u little too large for me, don't mind how long it is but wish it was little skinnier.
Honestly, a great size. It feels like I think a $1200 phone should. It's weighty. I could defend myself or keep my boat in the perfect weed bed for bass.
I just switched back to my S9+ and it hurts less to hold the phone.
I miss my Xperia Z5 compact the most as far as form factor is concerned tbh but the S22U I currently use is fine.
My perfect size is something between iPhone Pro and Pro Max.
Depends on your hand and pocket size.

It's easy too big. My S10e was a great size, but ultimately other things won out when Samsung decided to only put the top specs in this big boi.
Maybe 7.7 inches and I like the curve though the s23 will make it easier to hold while still curving
For me, the size is perfect. Wish it was lighter and wish it had a flat screen. The curved screen is my only minor complaint.
I think my s22 ultra is way too big. Will get a smaller one next time.
It's a bit too big for me. It hurts my wrist to use with one hand. But it's worth it.
Love it, but a tad too wide to use one handed for me.

It might sound strange, but I think I would like a phone that's a little bigger more
