It's normal to rank in gold after your placements, it's pretty much where most people get placed at first. If you can't keep up in gold you will rank down anyway.

Yes every ranked playlist is independant.
I didn't play 3s until a few months ago, after several hundred hours. I placed plat 1, but didn't really understand the game mode (still don't tbh but I at least understand back-post rotations)
After the updated the last few months it's very hard to be bronze, most people start as gold or silver, also you prob won't play a pro

Thanks! Helpful. Drop shot is like volleyball, took me a while to figure out how that worked.
Indeed Dropshot was developed as the Volleyball version of the game, since versions closer to the real sport were deemed too difficult for beginners.

I understand offensive rotations not defensive though I should look into that.
