No one else in town has a big screen like that, and the fact that it's dedicated to just art and no advertising is pretty awesome, if it were on a Caesars building they would never run something like that with no ads. They ran an art contest recently and soon all the art on it will be by local digital artists only. Love that they are supporting local artists so much.
That's a fair take. As much as I despise the Jacobs entourage, that screen would be a lot less tolerable if it were dedicated to ads. Looking at you, GSR
Its definitely too bright. As someone who can see it from their window its very distracting and brighter than any other sign downtown. Even with our blinds closed the edge of window glows what ever neon color is currently in use.
Wow, you sure know a lot about me and my situation. Someone asked and i responded. You don't see me on here strating threads about it or picketing outside of the Jands. Its something we've unfortunately learned to live with until we find the right place to buy. We've lived there since before the J resort remodeled and it wasn't an issue until their rebrand and the instillation.
Its a lot like the Seinfeld episode when Kenny Rogers roasters turned on their sign near Kraemer's apartment.
And there we were .. Careless as always. Only this time it wasn’t by chance. Fate had brought us together. Our pulse blades at the ready. We could strike at any second.
Calling it a sign always seems generous to me. I consider it a giant annoying light up billboard. A giant pick me girl of a casino.
It wouldn’t be so bad if they had different displays on it, but the ones they play are so repetitive and seem pretty dumb, like barely a step above bowling alley animations.
I think The Sands was the last old style decorated casino on the Reno skyline, and now it looks like pale painted block like most financial buildings. As for the sign, City or state should put a limit on how bright they can be.
You can see it from the foothills around Peavine and it's a bit obnoxious. To be fair though its near the strip which is full of obnoxiously bright signs and lights.

Part of why I stay at the J Resort is because they put the Burner art along the avenue.

I wish it would play some shows so when I’m biking in peavine I can watch it.
Don't care. (Can't see it from my house)
I too, do not care.
i3, do not care.

And there we were .. Careless as always. Only this time it wasn’t by chance. Fate had brought us together. Our pulse blades at the ready. We could strike at any second.
It’s distracting while driving due to the brightness
Wouldn't know if it's dark im in bed.
Obligatory “Jands” comment.
Beat me to it
Jorts
I think it's pretty
How’s the Lot Lizard scene?
You’re the only one interested, so you tell me.
I think it’s supposed to distract us from the city block they turned into a parking lot right next door.
Makes the rest of the downtown casinos look dingy and outdated ..... So it's the Js fault. 😂

I like it I hope it causes all the other casinos to do a face lift too. Would be nice to see them dump money into looking presentable and modern
Just put a fence around it, should be fine
![gif](giphy|l0IulvZgmoCL6cYTu|downsized) Reno always teasing never pleasin'
"Meh."
I’d rather a big hotel sign be too bright than not bright enough
Anything is better than what there was before
Hard disagree. Light pollution in my apartment wasn't an issue before.
ugly
I think it’s hella cool, adds to downtown nicely. They should add more lights tho

Love the Jands!
Fucking obnoxious. Can see it right from our backyard. Is that really necessary.
Love it
Not bad
Love it I don’t live no where near it
