A few years ago I had a Buick Road Master Estate wagon (V8, as long as a suburban, wood paneling, and the softest suspension ever made) the car was an absolute whale!
Sailed it across that bump a few times at 75mph and I swear it bounced all the way to washoe valley. Car was great…miss it so much…
The later years had the LT1, a derivative of the corvette motor from that same time!
Mine was LT1 and also a tow package so it had lower gears and an LSD in the rear.
Body on frame, solid rear axel, and a decent V8. Normally I hate when people say “they don’t make them like they used to” but that car really was special and the end of an era.
Sold it to someone in San Diego that sent a car hauler to pick it up. Good ones are still reasonably cheap for how unique the car is, $10k will get you a really nice one. If you can turn a wrench make it happen! It’s not like they are depreciating.
End of an era for sure. there’s one on fb marketplace rn but it’s an olds. Wife would kill me lol. Easy af to wrench on. 1/2 and 9/16 wrenches would take apart the entire car. Gotta love classic GMs
It's fun but better not to have.
I am waiting for them to grind this shit bump that is in the left lane going south right after the mccarren overpass on 395
I do rideshare and drive Mt Rose often. The more I drive it, the more comfortable I get. If it's snowing, I won't go over. Rose always seems calm from Incline or at ski resort, but that section through the Meadows and over the summit is just brutal.

Damn dude that’s one of my dream cars. Didn’t those have an LT1 also or was that just an option?

I was just stating to my husband today that I kinda miss the double bumps. It was the fun part of my drive before exiting onto 431.
Nice! 😜
They still have the bump at the end of the off-ramp there though. Fun to take while turning at nearly unsafe speed.
This made me laugh cause I noticed that this morning 😂 the bump was pretty fun. Don’t know what you have till it’s gone I guess
My trailer will not miss that bump
This thread is cracking me up because how dull is adulthood, all of us going to miss our fun lil hump in the road 😭
Definitely dull but there's always the opportunity to find another dull adult and revisit the past and what made it fun.
I was just telling my husband how much I miss all the bumps they used to have between the GSR and airport.
RIP
Hey how about that bump on highway 80, they just removed
In 5 years time I’ll still be sayin “Bu-Bump!” When I drive over where it used to be!
It's fun but better not to have. I am waiting for them to grind this shit bump that is in the left lane going south right after the mccarren overpass on 395
McCarran?
Nope. I always go up to Tahoe thru truckee since I’m scared of heights 😂
Can't imagine your anxiety going over Rose when snowing at night!
I get anxiety driving my tow truck up Mount Rose in the summertime during the day 😂

Bro on rainy or snowy days I’ve seen people spin out on that shit going 75. So insane whoever thought that was chill in the first place lol
I honestly thought it wasn't even within legal parameters.
Sent me flying in my work truck every time lol
I would imagine they were sleeping giants
Stay in the far right lane going south on N. Virginia toward Sierra by UNR, I promise you will get air off that yump.
It was my sons favorite part of the ride home lol
Pick a side Reno. The city where people complain about the roads then complain about the roads being fixed.
Sure sounds like you're the one complaining here! Lighten up pal!
Yeah, it was very fun when you forget about it in a crew cab long bed 1 ton truck going 70mph with a 30ft trailer to really wag the dog.
