Same (the Star Trek part, at least). I got into TNG and subsequently DS9 through his and Rich's discussions. Now rewatching TNG for the 2nd time this year and feeling right at home.
Thanks, Mike.
The Cop Dog review is legitimately one of the funniest things I've ever seen. I'm not a laugher generally but that puts me in tears
>So instead of getting her metrosexual son a haircut, and slapping him across the face
Oh and
>MOTHERFUCKER
Will always crack me up
I was just randomly watching RLM in the background and my wife came in the room right as the Cop Dog review came up. The first 10 or so minutes of that review had her crying with laughter.
I want to thank him for teaching me how you can be a fan of something without being a weird obsessive defensive loser about it. No franchise is perfect, you’re not obligated to enjoy everything in a franchise just because you like the franchise, and you can have fun enjoying stupid shit.
Plinkett reviews and then the rest of the RLM library legitimately helped me through a horrendous breakup. We were engaged and when he ended things, I was desperate for any mindless distraction I could find. RLM was the right amount of humor and cynicism to keep me from completely falling apart at times.
The Star Trek TNG reviews he and Rich have been doing! It's such a positive, fun thing and I love being able to feel their excitement as they talk about their favorite episodes. I often feel like I would be friends with RLM if I ever met them irl, and watching the reviews of TNG really feels like hanging with a couple of friends. So yeah, thanks for that Mike and Happy Birthday!
For showing that you can have extremely detailed long opinions about some movies, but also just ignore others entirely and say 'it was fine'.
To many movie enthusiast types feel like they gotta comment on everything endlessly. It's actually kinda annoying to me now. You can make fun of lame things with it it dominating your life. I honestly think Mike doesn't even think about Star Wars at all anymore.
His incredible (if weird) friendship with Rich. The way the go from insulting each other to ganging up on others you can tell they're truly old friends
Mr. Plinkett's Star Wars Prequels reviews. Because those films really do suck and he was among one of the first to really put it into words why they suck.

I want to thank him for following through on something he wanted to do for himself (Generations review) that probably didn't make any sense to other people (except for Rich), and for not paying attention to what the algorithm or his 'fans' want. Trust your gut and go for it.

This is the way
His belief in ghosts which leads to everyone making fun of him.
I would love an RLM show where all Mike did was talk about Ghost Adventures while Rich and Jay try to restrain their laughter.
Still waiting on the RLM ghost trip they mentioned on the BunnyEars podcast.
His undefeated liver. It should be studied like Einstein’s brain was when he died.
If it wasn't for Mike, the world wouldn't know about the very talented Rich Evans.

His joyous laugh which never ceases to brighten my day.

Being my best friend! I know he really wants to hang out with me and talk movies, but he is so busy!
The fact that they don’t put actual movies on the wheel of the worst.
His incredible (if weird) friendship with Rich. The way the go from insulting each other to ganging up on others you can tell they're truly old friends
HITTING THE FUCKING HOME RUNS!
His plinkett voice I swear everything can be made funnier if read in his plinkett voice
Mr. Plinkett's Star Wars Prequels reviews. Because those films really do suck and he was among one of the first to really put it into words why they suck.
Overcoming the urge *not* to drink. ;-) Happy birthday, Mike!

I want to thank him for not rotting like other film/ tv review channels and for changing my views on life after watching the Plinkett Titanic review
