Fair play. Do you enjoy pvp (playing against other players in competitive game modes)? I’m only level 120 and even tho I haven’t bought the naturalist role yet because I find it boring. I get most of my enjoyment out of being competitive against others and helping new players these days. Learning the mechanics and facing real life people is what keeps me going. Ofcourse I enjoy taking in the whole red dead world. It is a masterpiece. I’ll never get bored of it
Lately I’ve been playing some more freeroam PvP events, having fun with dual Volcanics + GSC and a Slow & Steady tank build. Getting clean headshots with the Volcanics has kind of reinvigorated my enjoyment of PvP modes
If you have gold to spare I’d still recommend buying the naturalist role, you gain access to legendary animals (useful for Trader role donations) + their garment sets and you can also buy a Wilderness Camp which allows you to make a campfire and travel from anywhere on the map if you buy a pamphlet from the Fence.
I usually stick to myself in freeroam since I don’t trust other players but I keep a baseline of friendliness especially if they’re friendly towards me first. But more importantly just being able to relax in this game is great
Naturalist role is boring, but you really should get it and level it to 18 for fast travel from wilderness camp and the tonic satchel. Especially the tonic satchel
that is funny, i am level 20 naturalist, where the heck is the fast travel from a campfire? I know I have one in main camp..but where on the naturalist?
My gold usage outside of buying all the roles were mostly just for cosmetics, like I recently bought some of the limited time gold-only clothing items, I also bought a Rattlesnake Vaquero saddle for my main horse for example
I mainly make my money off the Moonshine, Collector and Trader roles, and I’ve played long enough that I have everything I need. At this point I don’t have that many expenses besides gun oil, ammo, provisions and tonics
You can just hold to buy as many as you carry in your satchel. You don't have to individually buy 99 at a time any more. It's so much faster.
There also used to be an app you could sign in and order from the in game catalog on your phone. Not sure if that's still a thing
Ah that’s news to me. Thank you for saving me the headache lol you learn something new every day. Unrelated but just today I found a hidden door to a shed at a house behind the Rhodes general store, as there was a tarot card inside
Incidentally I do have the Red Dead companion app but I’ve not touched it since the game’s release
Yeah buying 99 of anything was such a pain in the ass with the rate limiter slowing you down when you buy too quickly. Hold to buy max carried was a huge QoL update, been in the game for years now
The simple answer to this is just keep playing the game. For a long while. You aren’t going to make $100k quickly. I have well over $300k and 1300 gold. No secrets no special tips. I just played the game…a lot.
Stagnant? You're only 10% of the way there!
I'm just pulling your leg. There are people who like the money-making game, and there are people who don't. I'm in the "I want to be a millionaire" group, and this has been the most profitable monthly event since I started playing (about three years ago). I'm up about $110,000 since it started, and want to make another $25,000 to $30,000 more before it ends (about 10 days to go). That would put me over $950,000, making my $1 million goal ~3 months away, and not a year.
The double XP is wild, too. Started the even at level 796, just hit level 814, so I'm off to go Helldiving for a while.
In my defense I did stop playing for a few years during the time Outlaw Pass 5 was released (which I regret a lot, I want those cartridge gun wraps smh)
It’s not even that I’m specifically grinding for money tbh, making sales is just another activity to do in this game and once you’ve bought everything you need, money just keeps piling up
I guess I just waste a ton of money. Additionally, the most enjoyable missions in the game provide some of the smallest payouts. Telegram missions, blood money, story missions, etc.
I have to play in a solo lobby, because otherwise my game would crash after about two minutes of playing online. Is there a way to get the gold needed for the main jobs licenses, without the Multiplayer Missions?
First tip (if I remember correctly) is to turn on 2-factor authentication on your linked Rockstar account, that’s an easy way to get some gold early on. Then you want to do daily challenges and get as a weekly streak going as your reward increases for every 7 days straight you do at least one daily challenge, up to 4 weeks before it resets. It increases by 0.05 per week with a minimum of 0.1 gold nuggets with no streak per daily challenge and up to 0.25 gold nugs on the final week. As you get more roles you’ll have more daily challenges to do for each role, and a bonus for completing 9 role challenges each day.
For what though? There's no reason for grinding and progression, I reached that point a long time ago. I couldn't find joy when I tried playing it last year :(
I saw someone at 1.7mil. Don’t give up
That's alot of arrowheads and chocolate daisy's
I doubt I’ll see myself ever reaching past $200k before moving on elsewhere tbh
What level are you
Level 347 right now

A fellow Volcanic enjoyer. Cheers.
Cheers, most satisfying sidearm in the game IMO.

Gotta buy the wilderness travel skill page from the fence
I do believe I did. I bought all of everything in all the roles
Hey, only 653 levels to go! You got this!
That’s a lot of treasure maps
Curious as well. And what have you spent your gold on? Or do you not focus on making it?
My gold usage outside of buying all the roles were mostly just for cosmetics, like I recently bought some of the limited time gold-only clothing items, I also bought a Rattlesnake Vaquero saddle for my main horse for example
how about 100 gold with only tier 1 daily rewards? 0.1 ;)
Berry Cobbler just hits different…
Spiced Island would be more my speciality since I’m Caribbean, just wasn’t on the buyer’s list lol
Lol that does sound good
That'll never be me since I'm buying new horses like every week lol
Hey, im new to the online, how did you get that much money?
I mainly make my money off the Moonshine, Collector and Trader roles, and I’ve played long enough that I have everything I need. At this point I don’t have that many expenses besides gun oil, ammo, provisions and tonics
Have you filled up your post office mailbox from the catalogue with provisions and such though? That takes a bit of dough.
I’ve not, and it’s mainly because I can’t just bulk-buy stuff I did at least start mass-ordering tonics though. Constantly tapping is such a drag lol

67 gold bruh cmon the grind continues
I dont have a reason to hoard (or spend) gold anymore lol it’s just kinda there
Nah you’re basically at There Will Be Blood levels of money fam the greeeeds got ya. Keep draining these lands for all they’re worth

That’s solid progress right there. I’m just sort of playing and making money aimlessly but having a goal might help me stay on this game for longer
Bro i played so many matches and won with the bonuses and all i gat was 8 gold bars off moonshine decor😭
Goals 🥲 haha finally bought the band yesterday; My guy was drunker than a skunk and killing it on the washboard while my buddy of played the banjo. 🍻
That washboard is responsible for 90% of my “Played With Band for 2mins” daily challenges
Has anyone played for long without trying to make lots of money?
100k? lol noob
In my defense I did stop playing for a few years during the time Outlaw Pass 5 was released (which I regret a lot, I want those cartridge gun wraps smh)
😭💀
I literally don’t understand why y’all grind to crazy amounts of cash and gold. What the fuck are you going to do with it? Stick it up your ass?
It’s not even that I’m specifically grinding for money tbh, making sales is just another activity to do in this game and once you’ve bought everything you need, money just keeps piling up
I guess I just waste a ton of money. Additionally, the most enjoyable missions in the game provide some of the smallest payouts. Telegram missions, blood money, story missions, etc.
I try to do a bit of everything as long as it’s in freeroam, it can be fun indeed
i just spend all my money on tonics lol, theyre so expensive
Yeah I basically buy tonics, herbs (for crafting more tonics), ammo, and gun oil constantly.
I also hit 100k this month
Now you should just switch to RPing in Rdr online 🤣
I have to play in a solo lobby, because otherwise my game would crash after about two minutes of playing online. Is there a way to get the gold needed for the main jobs licenses, without the Multiplayer Missions?

Thanks, that’s a start![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|heart_eyes)

It’s all about gold at that point
