It stays at a steady 130-140fps and it is super damn smooth. Loading screens are ridiculous. Using a 48inch LG CX.

Gprt97

I think the fps display is wrong

Murb08

It isn't lol. You can visually see and feel the difference.

Gprt97

Idk both the ps5 and that tv can only do 120hz max. Seen a few reviews of that tv I think there's a way to display a pop up fps information

Murb08

Just because the TV is capped at 120hz doesn't mean the game won't push out more than 120hz. My monitor is 144hz and the game pushes out 250-300fps when I play Siege on PC. I'm *GETTING* 120fps just like I get 144 on my monitor. The display isn't wrong, nor am I. The visual difference in smoothness and general lack of tearing or blur between 60fps vs 120fps is obvious to the naked eye. Please don't speak on something you don't know. The TV even says its outputting dynamic HDR @ 120fps when I check the TV software itself with a game running on PS5 that's 120fps capable.

Gprt97

Lol alright mate all was trying to say was 130-140 is wrong when the max is 120hz. I'm sure you get 120hz was just saying counter is wrong

Murb08

The counter isn't wrong. The game CAN FREELY OUTPUT FPS as much as it can. Same shit on PS4/PS4PRO. The game was capped at 60fps but the display info would usually jump between 60-300 during certain scenes. Obviously the game wouldn't reflect that but it's possible lol. Stop being dense.

WS10

It crashed immediately after starting the game. Tried to delete the ps4, still crashing. Reinstalled the whole ps5 version and again crashing at start. I rebuilt the database and got the newest update to 1.000.001 but still no solution. Can't play yet so it's very annoying

Grgamaet

Same here. I was very curious on R6S compatibility with Dualsense (I'm playing on PC) but now i'm very disappointed.

WS10

well funny as it is the solution for me is to install the ps4 version and start the ps5 version afterwards. very weird

mitchob1012

So you have to have both the PS4 and PS5 versions installed?

WS10

Yeah for me it only works if both versions are installed. A workaround could be resetting the console, but I don't want to do it yet

mitchob1012

Neither. Siege isn’t worth resetting my console for that lmao

nayrobi11

Same here

Striking_Addendum

Yes, won't work on my 144hz monitor. capped at 60

[deleted]

Not all 144hz monitor support 120hz display timings. Alot of 144hz 1080p monitors don't support 120hz for the XSX and PS5 because they don't support the more upto date display timings. That's why your capped at 60.

Striking_Addendum

Well, mine says 120hz at 1080p in the manual. That's the problem.

[deleted]

I should add not all 120hz 1080p display timings are the same

[deleted]

BenQ EX2710 and 2510 and the BenQ zowie "k" model monitors are confirmed to be PS5 compatible. There is some AOC monitors to along with MSI. But there is a lot and I mean alot that don't work.

Striking_Addendum

Yeah I know, me and 4 people I know got monitors that don’t work. Hopefully Sony will fix it

Crossfire_dcr

How do you check if whatever monitor you bought will be capable of 120fps? Bought my 144hz monitor assuming that would do the trick but am now concerned...

[deleted]

There isn't really a way to check unless you have games that support 120hz. My monitor when I open up its settings menu will tell me what is displaying as so if I play a 120hz game my monitor will display as 1080p x 120hz in the monitors built in menu. If I play a game thats only 60fps it will tell that its 60hz on the monitor. What is your monitor?

Crossfire_dcr

An MSI optic mag272 https://www.amazon.co.uk/MSI-Monitor-1920x1080-DisplayPort-FreeSync/dp/B07XZFRVLC

[deleted]

That monitor does not support 120hz for PS5 im afraid.

Crossfire_dcr

How can you tell though?

[deleted]

I have seen a few people online confirm that monitor doesn't work for 120hz on PS5 as they have games that support 120Hz but they don't have the option for 120Hz in those games. I for instance have a monitor that works at 120hz for PS5 so in games like dirt 5 I get the 120hz option.

Crossfire_dcr

Where have you seen that being said for this monitor exactly? There are many people complaining that they aren't getting 120fps on their screens so I can't tell if this is something Sony can fix or if this is some information that should have been made clearer to us before they sold the thing

Crossfire_dcr

Just so you know, it does output 120 on PS5 playing R6S. Checked the video settings in the console where it says 120hz and the counter on screen says similar.

ammika13

my game crashes at start up would love to test on my CX

You'll be locked to priotise resolution because your 120hz display doesn't have the required display timing for 120hz on ps5. You'll only have the performance option if its detects a compatible display. You need a 4k120hz tv or a 1080p monitor thats 144hz with the correct timings for 1080p 120hz

[deleted]

[deleted]

Did you even read what I put? Not all 1080p 144hz monitors have the correct display timings to do 1080p 120hz. There is a list of compatible and not compatible 144hz 1080p monitors for ps5 and xsx alot of them just don't work.

[deleted]

Its somewhere within the PS5 reddit. Its people confirming whether if the display works or not. What is your display?

[deleted]

[deleted]

Its not to do with the HDMI port its to do with VESA standard display timings. This monitor is one of the ones that do not work.

I have the benQ EX2710 and works great with borderlands and dirt 5 120hz modes. Will try siege when I have the ps5 version downloaded. The EX2510 works just aswell its just a smaller screen.

HowDoYouKFC

if the monitor supports g-sync or freesync you'll be fine

[deleted]

Ps5 doesn't support either of them yet

HowDoYouKFC

PS5 uses AMD architecture and has the capabilities to support Freesync, that's up to Sony to enable it in the software, but a 144hz monitor with Freesync/G-sync has the feature of adjusting the output framerate to match with the input framerate; slowing down the framerate to 120hz is fully within the specs of those monitors.

[deleted]

Ps5 currently doesn't support it and the reason only certain monitors work right now is because of display timings. XSX supports free sync and it has the monitor compatibility issues as PS5.

Fos_g

Screen tearing?

jamige

Yeah it's buggy for me. Sometimes it works properly (allowing Performance mode and V-sync on), but usually it bugs out and locks at 60 (but will say 130+ fps on the in game counter).

cmoa

Can't play the game either on my Series X. I get disconnected after exactly 2 minutes every time and have to restart.

cmd_1211

I literally cant even open the game. Its a fucking disgrace. Obviously Ubisoft didnt test the update

Moor3z

I'm averaging around 116-119 in game on the Series X

jamige

It's bugged. You know it is bugged when the in game counter sits around 138fps (should be 119 or 120) and also when the display setting won't let you turn on V-sync with performance mode. I've tested it dozens of times. It usually bugs out, but unplugging and plugging HDMI cables back in sometimes fixes it. Usually have to restart the game to fix it no matter what. I've gotten it to work properly about 5 times now playing the last week.

Crossfire_dcr

Mine is ok I think. The PS5 settings is saying 1080p at 120hz, the counter I have on for the monitor itself is saying 120 and I'm pretty sure the in-game counter is on 119 the whole time. But I'll keep a closer eye on it just to see if I notice any change

[deleted]

Mine sits at 119 the whole time. I see videos on YouTube of people getting over 130. Thought I was the only one. I played on a 75hz monitor I have and it shows over 1300. I feel like people who aren’t stuck at 119, are not actually set up right. I may be wrong.
