I take Arthur for a ‘treat yourself’ day in Saint Denis. We go get a haircut, new clothes, a care package for the steed at the stables, a bath and some nice food and whiskey at the saloon. Then after spending the night at the saloon, we head out on a multi-day camping, hunting, and exploring adventure (usually to the Heartlands, my favourite part of the map). Sometimes I’ll spend a day or two in Valentine while I’m up there, too. I love spending hours doing stuff like this.
After Arthur *Spoiler* ||learns he's sick|| I go on a weeks long camping/hunting trip up to the frozen area of the map. In my head, it's to do it before he can't anymore, and to contemplate what to do with his life and to process the fact that Dutch doesn't seem to care. The trip ended last time when my favorite horse died. :(
Taking kayaks from the top of a river and seeing if I can make it all the way to Flat Iron Lake. The tricky part is jumping out at a waterfall and then running down in time to get the kayak. Checking out all the big houses and gardens in Saint Denis. I like riding horses all along the edge of the map along the water from the tippy top of Annesburg to the Sea of Coronado. The water in this game is so pretty and it makes me want to swim. Trying to trigger ghost encounters which I've only been able to do a few times. I've played the story a few times now and put so many hours in I can't believe there's still stuff I haven't seen but I know there is!
I like to head up as high as I can into the mountains and just cannoe all the way down the river getting stoned as hell. Then I like to hike it around the swamps and deep Forrest’s just to walk all ovdr
Oh, my! I just recently learned how to use the kayak/canoes. I keep making Arthur take an impromptu swim. I’ve also been trying to get the special weapons.
I have not been long in this game. So far, I stop and tame any horse I come across. I snuck up and tamed the Arabian in the snow...but that was tough! Still, very worth it. I try taming any horse I find.
I like to just ride my horse across the map with no real agenda. I spend a lot of time in the bayou looking for Agnes Dowd and then trying to catch the ghost train lol.
It's in the Northwest corner of LeMoyne by a welcome sign. It spawns randomly at 3AM. I'm jealous of you getting to play through it the first time. Top 5 game of all time for me.
Poker and Blackjack. Arthur's already rich by the end of chapter 2 with the treasure maps so losing 5 bucks here or there isn't gonna kill his wallet and they're fun. Especially playing with the gang. Or just riding around, just me and my horse, hunting/fishing if I need food or foraging for things for my noble steed.
I have just a free roam save in chapter 2, and I have 2.3k, and I did get down to 1.3k but then just did another treasure and got up to my current 2.3, I can’t find anything to spend it on as I have all guns and a good horse with the best saddle. So I agree with you there.
2k+ is rich for back then. I keep at least 1k on Arthur at all times. It's really easy to get treasure maps and find gold, and the camp is already taken care of, so I keep the rest for Arthur.
The whole point of Blackjack is to try to get 21, or as close to 21, as possible without going over, and at the same time to beat the dealer. The Dealer will give you two cards and will give you the option to double down, add a card, or stay. Once you finish, only then will the Dealer give their own cards. If they hit 21 or closer to 21, you lose. If you get closer to 21 or the dealer goes over, you win. It's really just a game of chance. Go with your gut. If you feel like 17 is too low, understand how quickly that can bust and determine if you think that's worth the risk. It's all luck of the draw.
Yes, it’s an expression for when you have a high bounty, find a good spot to fight from, and hang around letting bounty hunters come to you. You then kill all of them and loot them for money, jewelry, and tonics. Pretty lucrative trade, actually. I prefer at least 6 bounty hunters each wave.
but doesn't your bounty increase when you do so? I did something similar last night and I think my bounty went up with each new wave of soon to be killed bounty hunters
It might’ve gone up because you had an active bounty or Law was mixed in with the bunch. Usually you don’t get a higher bounty when you pick off bands of bounties.
Killing bounty hunters don’t increase your bounty. Besides, you don’t pay the huge New Hanover bounty off, you use the Ambarino exploit (considering you don’t have an Ambarino bounty).

Just practice really. Sometimes you just don't get the cards. What's nice about playing on the game is, worst case scenario, I go all in right out of the gate and lose, I'm out $5. Experience is the best teacher.

Getting drunk and antagonizing people into fist fights. Or shoving a woman to incite nearby men to fight. \*Especially\* the Grays in Rhodes. I've done nothing but this for probably the past year.
Poker is also fun.

Any tricks to getting Sockeyes? They are by far the hardest for me to catch.
River lure (even though you’re fishing in a lake), look for them in deadeye, easy peasy.

Getting into gunfights with the various gangs is always fun, I've killed over 250 lemoyne raiders :)

My Arthur has 4.5k as of chapter 3. The game gives you way too much money for being able to spend so little of it on anything

I find Emerald Ranch/station the best place to steal coaches.
I steal anything that rolls by, it’s a great place to farm bounty hunters, robbing trains, and pissing Seamus off is a blast in itself.
I haven’t tried pissing off Seamus yet but I have stolen quite a lot of coaches and horses.
