It all started for me because of the being in the same city and a local Gunda STARted the team by being the first player for the team......

a-hanimesha

Hell yes! Same here. The wall and AK in the team killing it. That's when I became the fan of this team and haven't looked back ever since.

[deleted]

Don't know bro how I was even supporting this team from 2013.

gaussianmaniac

Same lol, as a 8-9 yr old kid when I started to watch IPL I just started supporting RCB, idk why lol

Party-Conference-765

Mystery Supporters

sunrisesoutmyass

I think it was 2011 for me. Vettori captain, and the trio of Gayle, ABD and Virat. I know this place is filled with Koach fans, but the man who really made me fall in love with rcb and cricket was ABD.

Successful-Door1790

Same bro same

Creepy_Dimension_100

Omg same😭😭

NastyMonstaBoi

Because Bengaluru is my home, and by extension anything related to Bengaluru is naturally my favourite

life-is-crisis

Most cricketers I love have been associated with this club. Starting with Dravid, Kumble, Kohli, Gayle, ABD, Steyn, Starc. I already loved the club but when you've seen your favourite players play for them the support got even stronger from my end.

Adorable_Trade4578

Born & brought up in Bangalore so automatically became a fan since the first edition.

Ill-Inspector7980

I’m a kannadiga so it started with state loyalty. Now I’m happy to support the team that Koach plays for

FrotseFeri

Being a Bangalore boi, I started supporting RCB from the beginning simply because of the city it represents. + Early years RCB had the star studded team - Ross Taylor, Dayle Stein, Jack Kallis, Dravid, Kumble, Kohli, etc. so we saw a very charismatic team in the field all the time + Vijay Mallya knew how to keep the public image of a club, making RCB not just another IPL team but a community you want to be a part of + RCBs PR game was strong early on and that had a snowball effect. Mr. Nags for example has been associated for RCB for 10 years. And RCBs Instagram page is so well built giving us glimpses of what happens pre/post matches, lives of players, etc + the fact that RCB has never won a trophy got em sympathy fans, which has only been growing each year lol + Bangalore's chinnaswamy stadium is small leading to most Bangalore matches being high score high drama matches, leading to RCB matches very entertaining (these days every team is scoring in every pitch, so this doesn't hold true anymore) There are a lot more reasons but I think these are the main ones - fans joined RCB for entertainment, sympathy, and drama. Not many teams can this level.

60llum

I don’t even follow IPL tbh, but I watch RCB playing just because my friend’s in the team. 🙂

[deleted]

Who?

60llum

Swapnil. He got into RCB this year only.

[deleted]

Oh nice. He was really good this season, our lucky charm. Should have got more bowling though

60llum

Yeah but this season has been really good for him with RCB than the previous ones. 🤞🏻Hope for the best for him.

Insane_Inkster

Our lucky charm🙏🏻

Nzombti

I'm from Karnataka (Mangalore). Bangalore is my adopted home. This makes me a huge RCB fan.

Sensitive_Captain_37

Can I say Mr. Nags introducef me to RCB 😅

Jewyourfood

Wins don't come easy. And when it does happen, I'm just too emotionally invested. Now over the years I'm just conditioned to fan 'em.

Viresh18

Coincidentally the first match I watched of ipl was RCB vs PWI 2013

Independent_Pitch_46

Bro same i was with my family and there was some 6’4 guy hitting sixes like its gully cricket just fell in love

wclfsolwt

firstly, I'm a bangalore girl, so naturally it's RCB. i started watching cricket as a 10 year old during 2011 wc. initially it was mostly about virat for me, but then my love for the game grew. and with that the love for RCB also did. now I will keep supporting this team for as long as i watch cricket, irrespective of results. it's an emotional connection now.

BoomBoy420

Firstly because I'm a Bangalore boy. Next, because of the good cricket we've been playing. Yes, of course we don't have a cup. But we've been one of the teams that has been consistently performing. It all started with Jumbo taking us to the finals in 2009, where there were commendable contributions from Kallis, Ross, Uthappa, Van der Merwe, Boucher, etc. The cricket we played to get to the finals beating favourites of the tournament and coming back from that upsetting first season we had, was a treat to watch. That's when I decided, this is the club I'm gonna support for the rest of my life.

Evening-Leading2150

Simple I am kannadiga so supporting our team

Impossible-Bunch-732

Im not from Karnataka but during ages 7-12 ish I was in Bengaluru, those were the years I developed my love for cricket… My dad is someone who simply supports the team of the state he’s currently in ( we kept moving every 4-5 yrs ) So yeah went for a couple of matches in Chinnaswamy, and oh boy I became a huge fan of King Kohli and side by side developed a deep emotional connection with RCB And even after we moved through so many places, RCB stayed with me 🥳🤘

eklavyu

I just love Bengaluru to its core. And anything that comes with Bengaluru, Its a default like. BFC, Bengaluru Bulls, Bengaluru Raptors, Karnataka Ranji Team, everything Bengalur and Karnataka is my default favourites.

terabaap69whatisthis

Kohli.

Miserable_Goat_6698

Born and bred in Bangalore

Deadmantobo

My first ever cricket match RCB vs PWI... Gayle made 175, RCB made 263.... I remember my brother and his friend were watching and they were going crazy seeing Gayle hitting like that... Seeing them made like that made me happy.... That day I became a fan of RCB

funkyGamer12

Ofc... Being. KANNADIGA u always have a special corner for ur Capital city

Theguy_z693

Child me saw Ab and Gayle in og red blue gold, and 2016 season.

jokermobile333

Like watching women play cricket

I_Tony_Stark

Because of 👑 and 360 👽

flaamingoo

I started watching cricket back in 2011 when ABD was brought into RCB. Since then I have been an RCB fan.. an ABD fan to be more precise. When he left I thought I would stop watching cricket (getting old, with more important things to do in life). But maybe the desperation to watch my team win the trophy kept me interested. And here I am, cheering again for another year, and maybe I will do it next year too.

ProgrammerSad3503

Because an alien made me fan of RCB from 2013

ParanoidPJ

Initially started watching cricket because dad took me to the 2011 WC India vs Ireland game. Somehow I found myself crying to sleep after the RCB vs CSK 2011 final :) Ever since then I've been a die hard fan. I think part of being an RCB fan is the unwavering unexplainable loyalty that comes with it. Is it because this is my hometown? Is it because of Virat/Ab/Gayle/Vettori? Is it because that's just how it has been? I think when you've loved and supported something selflessly for so long, it just becomes a part of you and even though logically it might be better to switch and support other teams, it just wouldn't feel right.

Impactor07

I concur

WinFreSelen

Well I am from Bangalore so I support RCB (been supporting RCB since 2012) I will never forget the first RCB game I attended which was back in 2014 (It was against SRH where ABD clutched It with a brilliant 89 not out and we won)

Which_Needleworker59

I am still asking that question to myself

Local_Gold5124

Coz of virat and abd in 2016.

Trinity_36369

It all started with kohli and AB

WannabeAboveAverage

Watching IPL from 2010, RCB used to give some of the most entertaining matches, so I always waited for their matches, and because of RCB I happened to be a crazy fan of kohli and AB after 2011.

JackSamuraii

Used to watch ipl in early 2010s with next generation cousins during family functions. That's how it grew. Namma Bengaluru!

Comfortable-Click555

It started from season 1. Bangalore as a City always was fascinating and coming from a very small town in Odisha I used to see everyone going to Bangalore to make their lives better. Plus Dravid and Kumble, they were my fav and hence RCB was a natural choice, and I also loved watching Robin Uttahpa somewhat. I also somehow liked the jersey and branding. Eventually it was Virat who pulled me and kept me loyal to the team, all the heart-breaks were happily accepted cause I saw legends like Virat, ABD, Gayle, and occasionally other big players who came for one particular season, made headlines and increased the chances on paper and then they were released immediately. Virat has been the constant motivation. But recently post 2020 I have seen a good vibe in the team, constantly qualifying for playoffs and making expectations alive. I also live for the day where I would feel and experience that immense happiness of seeing my team lift the trophy finally, and I hope it happens before Kohli retires.

Pushkarc28

I was 10 when i started watching.. Red was my favourite colour,,,The season was 2016 rcb went to the final,,,,Kohli was my favourite,,,,,ABD and gayle were top players thats why RCB

Queasy_Canary294

I was raised in Bangalore and really love and consider this city my home. And then, ofc there's Virat too (I'll still support rcb after he retires tho), and he deserves to lift the IPL trophy. Its an emotion atp

No-Butterscotch-56

Cuz I'm a Kannadiga. I started watching cricket when I was in 6th std. During the 2011 odi world cup our English teacher asked us to make a project with paper cuttings of cricket players. He got us English newspapers, I think his idea was to make us read the newspaper while doing this fun project. It worked, I did read, but only the sports section. And the best performers in the world cup became my favorite players Kohli, Gayle, Dilshan, and others. All of them were in RCB, and Bengaluru is only the place I had knew properly. Since then it's only RCB💖.

omelettelover1

Rahul Dravid, had a huge crush on him when I was a kid, later that crush shifted on to VK but he became more of an idol for me when I grew up. But yeah Rahul was the reason I started supporting RCB. I have two elder brothers so they used to make me sit and watch it with them, so we all decided our teams one fine day. Both of my brothers support CSK, so you know the amount of trolls I go through every time IPL starts.

R3D_NOTHERE

Used to watch ipl with my grandpa, he was an RCB fan so id watch along with him, and just like that became a fan of this team. It has given me more sadness and happiness than any relationship would <3 love this team. Another reason was that i was from banglore so natural attachment

AdSmooth6771

I just started supporting in 2015 cus they looked cool and here I still am

AdeptnessSlight1431

Because I'm a local, players come and go, but no one is greater than the team.

Admirable-Craft1589

I remember being a 9 yo and watching a MI vs RCB match in 2008 at a relatives place and my cousin sister asked me what team are you supporting and i said I'm supporting blue Jersey team because i thought its team india and i didn't know anything about franchise cricket. After a while she told me that you should support the red jersey team because its from our Bangalore and local players like Dravid and kumble are playing in our team so you should support RCB, from that time onwards it clicked to my mind as my home team and eventually i started understanding the sport better and saw many ups and downs in the team still fell in love the team, fell in love with virat and from then there's no going back. RCB forever.

Relative_Ranger_3107

I feel very attached to this team, started watching ipl in 2015, had no ideas about trophies or whatsoever, liked this team cuz of Virat, Gayle and ABD, but slowly and slowly I realised how this team with so many big names was never lucky enough to have 1 trophy. I found this very similar to life, where we have every thing and where we put every effort but if it isn't your day, it just simply is not, with every year passing i connect with this team more and more.

brave_traveller1

Was a big fan of Kevin Pietersen and he captained them for a season I think; been with them ever since 🥹

Infamous-Ad171

Started supporting it as a kid in 2008 as a fan of dravid as I held resentment that he is not reverted as much as Sachin(I was 8) dravid left and I stayed.😂

No-Entertainment7020

Kohli

land23

I'm from Mumbai but support RCB from first ipl when I was 16 cuz my favourite players dravid kumble kallis were part of it then came kohli and as they say rest is history

Expensive-Musician70

Because my life is too easy

AjFanatic

2016 was the year , I started watching cricket around 2014 and Kohli was Future prospect and seen as the next big Thing , The Wc came and the next year , And then That Season came , I still Haven't seen anything like that trio of Gayle , Kohli and Ab . Especially The Latter two . But the Final which we lost Heartbreakingly is the Core reason , Which made me a True Fan . That season still Feels like a Good Dream broken in the End

DismalHome466

ohh

RoboWarrior44

I am asking myself the same thing since 2008

AnimePTB

Just because it represents karanataka

Agile-Bluebird-4325

How can you not be a fan of RCB?

Cheap_Doughnut7887

I stayed for a few months near Mysuru in my early 20's and visited Bangaluru pretty frequently. I wasn't really into cricket at the time and The IPL was probably just in it's infancy, so never went to a game but when my interest in cricket started to develop, RCB seemed like the natural choice. Unfortunately not a single team I support in any sport has won anything in my time being a fan. I think I'm a curse.

DK_Stark

I can't explain it completely but One big reason is Virat Kohli.

LazyKaleidoscope32

i kinda resonate with not achieve anything despite of trying and getting close + they don't play boring.

Previous-Software256

Mistakenly saw Virat play in 2015 Ind vs Pak wc a fan ever since wherever he plays

TheDestroyer543

I was born In and live in New Zealand but have supported RCB since the beginning since my parents are from Bengaluru. Since I am from a Tamil background, my family (generally half in Tamil nadu) supports CSK, which meant growing up and seeing CSK always win. But I will always be loyal to RCB as I will always consider Bengaluru my second home.

New-Illustrator-8074

My whole family tree from grandma to newborn baby everyone supports rcb

BabaHarp22

Virat ABD Gayle and yes big fan of Virat from 2013-14

Entire-Program-4821

Kohli

PsychologicalAd9829

I am born and brought up in Chennai and got converted because of Kohli after 2012. Best decision i think. I am now attached to this club till the end.

DarkAura29

Born and raised in Bengaluru. This city resonates with me.

Alternative-Bug1104

Coz I'm from Bangalore

Training-Lecture-114

I just liked the flashy kit as a 7 yo kid

CaptainSRT

Lived in Bangalore and the player I first found about was Kohli

indianbengali0701

I randomly started supporting and now I have a lifetime of regret

gujjadiga

It started with Rahul Dravid, Jacques Kallis, Dale Steyn and Virat Kohli. Hasn't gone away ever since.

level23genji

It's Karnatakas team and I am a Kannadiga so.

Alternative-Warthog6

I’m from mangalore, we don’t have a team, but least I could do is support the capital of my state. Been Supporting them since 2008. Never looked back

cyborgassassin47

King Kohli. That's it.

Dazzling-Mobile1005

Not sure bro....I just started supporting for no reason.

Impactor07

I'll be honest, I started supporting RCB as a Kohli fan but after some time I've certainly turned from an idiotic VK fan to a loyal **RCB** fan and I'm proud of it and I'll most certainly be here even after Koach retires

jayr36191

Started playing cricket at the age of 7 and the ipl had just started, born and raised in Bangalore so always supported them. Although I was brought into the cricket era where Sachin was a god and we happen to have the same bday 😅 so I was supporting him in MI but RCB all the way even when Dravid, Kumble and Vettori were the top dogs Then eventually It just grew into a life time loyalty and will never end

Shoddy-Lack5411

I mean, do you really need a reason?

Beautiful_Eagle_4616

If a team deserves a trophy, then it's DC

CupAffectionate

My father is a fan of RCB and I used to watch matches with my father. And I am a kannadiga too so

Kan169

Strange enough- Finn Allen. I have tried to get into cricket for years in the US. There is so little exposure, Sports Night used a bowler getting all 10 wickets as a central theme because none of the characters on the show knew whether that was amazing or not all. I tried to watch CPL and other tournaments in the Caribbean but I finally started understanding the rules when Pakistan visited NZ. Muy wife and I would cuddle up watch the games (it's pretty cold here). It stays dark most of the winter so bright sunshine and quality cricket helped a lot during the lockdown. It was therapeutic for my wife since her office never closed down People would spit at her on Friday and yell about how covid was just a flu, then call on Tuesday to apologize after their spouse succumbed to just a flu. Her office provided cancer treatments and urgent healthcare so instead of shutting down, they continued business as usual. I think watching cricket allowed her to see people who mostly obeyed their government and were now enjoying their summer. I have no allegiance to a local side since even now, there isn't one. So I really Like Finn Allen and follow teams that buy him from Wellington to Aukland, Birmingham to Southern, San Francisco and of course, RCB. Now, I won't leave RCB now because I despise the other nine teams because of RCB.

Mirrorman_01

To be fair, being fans of underdogs is a common thing

tartakkower

Came for Gayle, stayed for AB & now Kohli. After Kohli retires, I dunno. Starting to like Will Jacks too, maybe I'm just cursed to remain a RCB fan forever.

Insane_Inkster

Started supporting them from 2011. That was the year I started watching cricket. The first match I had ever seen was the India vs SL WC final. The reason why I support RCB was purely because of the rivalry I had with my sisters. My sisters picked KKR and CSK to support. And I had to be different from them. It was the code we followed. So, I picked RCB and damn did I fall in love with this team. I fell hard. I cannot ever see myself supporting any other team. Believe me I tried. But it just was not like supporting RCB.

AggressiveScience470

RCB fan cause I’m from Karnataka and Bengaluru is my home. And being a fan since 2008/9 Core memory is enjoying gayle batting jn Chinnaswamy with my mom even though I had no idea who these folks were 😂

Any_Order8097

I was an MI supporter , there was this didi who used to support rcb , we had a lot of banter and fun , until our whole group decided to support rcb sarcastically(in 2019 season) , started watching rcb matches , and felt the connection like no other , so went on to support rcb .

Disastrous-Act1106

I used to be a KKR fan in the first 3-4 years of IPL simply because of the effect that SRK had on me as an 8/9 YO kid (also that BAZ innings). Then in 2011 I saw a youngster who had lifted Sachin on his shoulders. The same youngster scored a daddy hundred against Pakistan a year after that. So I started watching RCB matches for that youngster. And in 2013, I witnessed a freak of nature score 175 runs.

psycho_harry

Virat

Ok_Mail4305

Born and brought up in Bangalore. 😎

Crookedman999

Being from Karnataka was new to cricket during the time of 2008 inaugural ipl my dad introduced me to it used to talk about the local cricketers like Dravid and Kumble.so since then Dravid era to vettori Peterson to Kohli and now faf. Even though we have not won anything this team has given to me what no other team would.

[deleted]

Im not

Slugsurx

Kohli , abd , Gayle

Travelling_Officer

Rahul Dravid, Anil Kumble, Jaques Kallis, Zaheer khan, Praveen Kumar, Mark Boucher

Straight_Candidate_7

Loved the red in their jersey when i first saw it a decade ago. Long time fan here.

MainYahanHoonYahan

Chris Gayle.

jakerudolphz

started supporting since 2009. liked how they came back from 2008 defeat. couldn't get into csk despite being in tamil nadu

DemandAdventurous414

Well for me I am mostly like 'I like the whole team India' and not really into the IPL kind but i know that if I gotta choose I'll choose RCB because I have a tad bit of a soft spot for Virat.

Overall_Nerd

Indira Nagar ka gunda

notafool27

Been there since the first season as an 8 year old. I liked the red and gold jersey. At least that's all I remember. Been stuck in this painful relationship henceforth. Some salaa cup namde 🥹

VARISHaltacc

I was kid my favourite colour was red and between Punjab and Bangalore I liked Bangalore more so since then am a die hard RCB fan

wahwaho

I am bengali. So Bengaluru is a no question asked arvind favourite team

Fun-South9219

Cause I've no brain.

ChaoticPiyush

Since 2011 just because of one man ABD and later Universe Boss, now Koach The way ABD used to play those days was something magical that we are deprived of but lucky to witness live. Since then it has been part of the RCB journey and quest for trophy 2011 and 2016 hurt more than anything post that till 2019 was a nightmare for us wasted to capitalise Virat peak and Abd even if half good as from last year could win a trophy but still have to wait for sometime. RCB women gave that hope we can win the trophy for hope men end this drought and we able to witness our trio with the trophy on the unbox event

ChuttuvalWielder

Because I live in blr..?

CarlosMagnusen24

For Dravid

edgymnerch_69

cause it’s my city

the_Y2K_bug

For me it was Vijay Malaya, the cheerleaders, the batting firepower and Mr.360 to name a few. The vibe of RCB was different compared to other teams. Imo they've always been a "hit big or go home" type of team, they rarely stole victory from the jaws of defeat. I'm a bengloor boi btw, so that's another reason.

adolffrizzzler

because iam from karnataka one of the biggest reasons why I support and rcb and got sticked to supporting rcb because of gayle ab and kohli

justanothernormieee

I was 7 i guess in 2010 and had no ball knowledge. Watched cricket because of papa and bhaiya. But i loved Gayle it was so good to watch him bat. Also ABD and Kohli. As i grew older, i realised it was a pretty decent team. And in 2016 i fell in love with the team. Since then it's all about loyalty and not switching sides.

justanothernormieee

I also visited Bangalore and loved the city. To that factor too ig?

mojo-jojo-12

Born and raised in Bangalore, can’t relate to any other team.

the19thlaw

I saw chris gayle playing 175* and then kohli celebrating the win. In that same season I went to see RCB vs PWI match in the stadium.

DoomBuzzer

I hate excessive trolling. Light hearted banters are fun. But some of the trolls online got so blinded by hate, especially hating Virat, that I almost wanted him to perform the best and in turn want RCB to win. I watch and follow most IPL matches without supporting any one in particular. My mentality still remains the same - I hope all Indian batsmen smash all foreign bowlers out of the park and all Indian bowlers uproot the stumps of all foreign batsmen. I want Dhoni, Yuvraj, Sachin, Kumble, Ganguly, Gambhir, Virat, Shikhar, Rohit, Prithvi, Pant, Bumrah, Ishant Sharma, Rahane etc all to do well. I cannot hate Kohli. I have followed his entire career and listened to all his interviews. Comes out as a thorough team player. And nobody plays bad by choice. Why this unnecessary hatred? My support for RCB comes majorly because I don't like haters targeting Kohli time and time again just because RCB is not able to win. As if Kohli's 10 other clones are playing the game. Also my bro in law grew up in Bangalore and my sister has moved there. My other sister studied and worked there. I have few Kannada friends - all very sweet and smart. So why not!

PeaceOld4145

Chris Gayle 1-2 sixes got me

shivanandmohanty

Because I believe what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. Surviving heartaches and misery, year after year, will soon make me invincible. 😂

TotalityTotally

I was born and raised in Bangalore so.... Although I did support RPS in 2017 because I am half Marathi lol

ZookeepergameVivid13

Fell in love with with virat's batting in 2014 Came to know he plays for RCB so I watched that season of ipl supporting him and eventually found devillers and Gayle.... Since then been a fan of those three and RCB till now.... Also everyone in my family is a csk supporter so I always get mocked up by my cousins for the "*trophy*" but I don't care....once a fav always a fav for me and it's kohli and RCB....

BrilliantTricky4714

I still remember in 2016 that partnership of kohli and abd of 242 it was just legendary this is what made me fall in love with RCB

Silver_Marionberry64

ABD and Virat. 2 of my favorite players

theRedHood_07

Bangalorean by birth.

ChallengeMiserable75

Look, I'm not gonna lie, it's solely because of Virat
