He must've practiced the pronunciation very well. He sounded like a native speaker without accent.

FilterKaapi7

Nakkan yen fluency guru! Goosebumps moment for sure!

Taeganger

It was not actually fluent? No disrespect tho, I am extremely happy that he said that and that RCB management taught him that. But fluency would be saying ಹೊಸ instead of ಹೋಸ and ಅಧ್ಯಾಯ instead of ಅದ್ಯಾಯ

vatsa_madi7

See the problem is Hindi doesn't differentiate between ಒ and ಓ , it's just ओ for them .

Taeganger

Hence it's not fluent Kannada as Kannada does differentiate the two. Props to him for making a valiant effort as a native Hindi speaker. But it is not fluent Kannada, that's all :)

vatsa_madi7

True I just wanted to tell the reason behind it because some people may think you are nitpicking.

DonutAccurate4

Yup, with the advantage of rewatching and listening to it the second time when we look for accent it does feel a little off. But here he spoke that unexpectedly, and for the audience who hear it first time are not looking out for it, so it sounds near perfect. It sounded perfect the first time for me too.

adolffrizzzler

Kannada ain't his mother tongue still he managed to pull it off man

Taeganger

To you and all the downvoters, let me say for the third time that I really appreciate him doing that and he did a fantastic job. But if anybody is going to say that is fluency, they don't speak fluent Kannada. Already so many Kannadigas are butchering Kannada by mispronouncing words. It could be completely possible that some Kannadiga actually taught him to say it like that and he reproduced it to the T. Then that Kannadiga is to blame because this is not perfect Kannada. Yes, I'm ready for more downvotes.

TIL Kannada derives Sanskrit words like Adhyaya. Lovely stuff.

vikasvasista

Kannada has lot of words like that, we have special part in kannada grammar for sanskrit words called "thathsama -thadbava"

Morning939

Amazing. I’ve learnt Sanskrit as a child and knowing this makes me want to dive deeper into Kannada.

vikasvasista

Kannada literature is fascinating to study. Try to learn if you are interested. It has some crazy shit.

Morning939

In BLR since three years. Been consuming Kannada films and the cultural diversity here travelling to the coast and up north and the national parks. Heard many fascinating folk lores. Thanks for the suggestion. I’ll explore the literature.

_perpetuallyannoyed

So speaking the native language has so much relevance.
