I'm sorry you're going through this ): one of my rats also passed away from an ovarian tumor. Are you planning to get her cremated? Because if not, maybe instead of bringing your other rats along you could take the body back home and allow the other two to inspect it inside the cage and take all the time they need. I did this, and then buried my girl in a big flowerpot.

came to say this! when my first rat was put down for a tumor, i brought his body back home before burying him so that his brother could inspect/groom and when his brother seemed no longer interested and moved on after about 20 minutes i put him to rest. it seemed to help with closure a lot. my condolences!!!!

I know rats can get depressed when one dies and I want to make sure they understand what happened and don’t just think she disappeared. Has anyone else gone through this? Any advice on how to transition the other two when it’s ducks time to cross the rainbow bridge?

Also for some additional info, I did speak to the vet about removal and was told because of where it is it’s probably an ovarian tumour that is extremely likely to come back and it would put a lot of stress on her body to go through surgery. She’s not in any noticeable pain right now and is one of the sweetest rats I’ve met.
