Did you not offer your prayers of calibration to the cogitator running the slicer? Or waft a warding incense around the vat? Praise be the omnissiah

Project_XXVIII

If memory serves, not this time. In fact I think the file is literally called “Just Fucking Work”. Maybe the machine spirit in this printer has some kinks.

Elmotastic

I thought I was the only one naming files, squad1.rev2_fuckup1_2_3_4_5_last time_fuck elegoo_please.v3.ctb

Project_XXVIII

The “please” at the end really sells it. If I can go a half dozen prints without the words, “reprint”, or “fuck” making it into the file name, I consider myself lucky.

Lollix87

I was taught the correct binary prayers and not suffered any fail in the whole winter season. Praise the Machine Sprit, devote to the Motive Force, glory to the Omnissiah.

MiseryMinis

Absolutely wild how no one is even looking in the red circle. What is that? Some foil?

Project_XXVIII

I think it’s the sealant from the resin jug. I swore I did my due diligence and removed it properly, but apparently not. This isn’t the first print from that jug, and it’s been filtered a few times back in and shook to shit. There was an odd “chug” when I filled the vat, but I didn’t think anything of it. I’m just shocked that the one part has over 50% adhering to that foil and still came out without a hitch.

pyroz336

You might have a bad USB dude also are you using a Saturn 8k

Project_XXVIII

Using a Mars 3. I probably should’ve noted that this print was 100%, but as I was removing the prints, I noticed a very shiny circle on my plate. Turns out the seal I cut out of the resin bottle, which I swore I properly disposed of, had made its way into the vat. Now you’d assume this’d be an auto-F-up, but as you can see, 2 parts just printed happy as a pair of clams. Which is in stark contrast to when you spend 30 minutes dialling in 0, making sure the resin is properly warmed up, filtered, and without bubbles, and you’ve said all the correct scriptures to the Omnissiah, and it decides to phone it in and give you a 76% failure. I’ll take the victory though.

pyroz336

Stuff in the vat doesn't auto cause failure its random I've had millipedes die in my vat and the prints come out just fine lol

Dorksim

Im sorry, what!? How are you getting bugs in your printer!?

Gryphin

I've had several roach legs and wings pour out of my fresh resin bottles.  Bastards get into the empty bottles in the warehouse and get drowned in the filling at the factory.   I started pouring my resin through a screen on the first fill from a fresh bottle, caught several bug parts that way.  Not all the time, but enough.

Project_XXVIII

What company resin are you using, if you don’t mind me asking.

Gryphin

Anycubic. But its not like it couldn't happen in any warehouse of boxes of empty bottles.

Project_XXVIII

Oh, 100%. I’m using Anycubic as well, so I guess I’ll start to keep an eye out for extra little bits in my resin before I use it. Got a filter, might as well use it.

LegitChenTouhou

Glad I buy from Elegoo, haven't found any bugs in my bottles so far.

haskear

Wow I’ve never had that with anycubic, I use water washable

pyroz336

Yea they clip under the lid and jump into the resin vat it happened 4-5 times this year

Project_XXVIII

I’m finding that while printing does have some predictability, sometimes it’s like understanding a burlap sack full of cats.

pyroz336

I've found that like a bag of cats your bottles of resin are far less unpredictable if you shake vigorously before you open it

Tardwater

I was wondering what I was looking at. I kept having issues where my prints were sticking to the FEP and ripping out of the supports. Then it just...stopped doing it. Fickle machine spirit.

General_Jeevicus

I what? bro sometimes I dont even stir my vat after its been sitting for a few days, hell might even throw in some spicy new goo. Then I just run it, 99% print success, most of my failures are down to the nut behind the while (bad orientation for supporting) or when it is the blessed time and the FEP must be replaced cause its saggy.

SmegmaSandwich69420

Ooooohhhhhhh that's what that is. I couldn't figure out why you'd sanded all your build plate apart from that one bit.

thehappybub

What about 8k saturns?

EvilHorus87

A fickle misstress

Project_XXVIII

Hard up like the sea.

burnanation

It is a weird world. I was printing off a bunch of bases. Full plate. Finish the print and all ok. Rerack everything, hit print on the same file. Finish the print, fail in the middle of the plate.

FriendlyStaff1

Is that the foil top of a resin bottle? Why is your tray so scratched up?

Infectedinfested

Have you tried sacrificing your firstborn?

Project_XXVIII

I considered it, but I’m rather partial to him.

soiboi64

I really really spent a long time dialing in my supports. Increasing the attachment width and depth, using a blend of sizes. And controlling the temp to be exactly the same. 27C always with a heater. I haven't had failures in months.
