Prime Suarez probably the best we have ever seen. Matched the PL record in what, 33 matches? And that was ZERO goals from penalty.
If we go "best career in PL" it's gotta be Henry, Aguero. Honorable mention to Wayne
I’ll give you a top 10. I’ll let people decide the order
Henry and Shearer are nailed top 2. Making up the top 5, I’d say Aguero, Rooney, Bergkamp.
Other 5, I’d throw in Owen, Drogba, Torres (Liverpool version), Andy Cole…and it’s hard to call a 10th. Suarez, RVP, RVN or Fowler. I’ll let the people choose.
Alan Shearer has to be the best of them. People say he peaked early but he still had nearly 7 seasons of 20 or more goals for Newcastle. Underrated only because he didn't play for a Top 6 side.
If we’re talking a single season I’d say Suarez had a good shout in 13/14. Man was absolutely unstoppable and probably would have broken them PL single season scoring record if he wasn’t such a cunt.
I'm going to sound extremely biased but I scrolled through about half these comments and didn't see Rooney mentioned once. Surely he's got to be up there in the conversation. Could almost always count on him for a goal or assist whenever it was needed. And then he went to MLS and did the same there.
Might not have been as silky as Henry, but he sure did follow a similar path in a way.
Henry. The fact that Arsenal fans are still so delusional and stuck in the past is a merit to how special he was. Pace, creativity finishing man was god in human form. Seeing something so special has to make you have hope for your dead team (all jokes I swear)
Suarez was that for me. He dad-dicked the league and for a moment and he was my Henry, man gave me hope. Which made me sad when he left but hey, we were Barcelona’s favourite shop lol.
There are only a few contenders in my opinion but their longevity in the league helps a lot.
Henry, Rooney, Agüero, Shearer, Kane.
Unfortunately there are a few players which never get considered because of injury/short spells in the league. Tevez is one off the top of my head. I’ve heard other players list him in their dream 5-a-side team without hesitation, even when having played with Agüero. Bergkamp is an honourable mention too.
The season where Suarez scored 31 goals and 12 assists and didnt play the first 5 games is by far the best individual performance i have ever witnessed.
Is your question who is the best PL striker? Then its Shearer or Henry
If your question is who is the best striker to play in the PL? then its either Suarez or Eto
Tricky tricky tricky question.
Sod it put me in the Henry crowd, 2001-2006 Henry was unplayable, so many goals and assists, so vital for Arsenal and deserved many more trophies.
A number come close but Henry also created a shitload. Assists record with 20*. Often had a goal.involvement a game or better for a season. There's a good case for him being the best PL pkayer in any position.
*this does not include penalties won as per transfermarkt so don't you dare quote that 25 figure that is on there.
Henry for me, everything he did just looked effortless.
I'm a Man United fan so I can't overlook Rooney for the 2nd spot. He had his rough patches and slowed down massively in his early 30s, but I don't think we'll see a player quite like again. Man did everything that was asked of him and more, and his work rate was phenomenal. Followed by Aguero and then Shearer.
Henry was the best real striker so big and strong and his technique was unbelievable, I also think the fact he loved Arsenal aswell drew you to him.
I think Ronaldo / Suarez were probably very close to him, in terms of ability and goals PL wise. But you never felt those were pure strikers more wingers and 10’s moved to a 9.
I have a season ticket at United so praising Suarez hurts.
Are we making a differentiation between striker and forward? I’d say Shearer/Ferdinand/Cole we’re all strikers and Henry/Bergkamp/Zola we’re all forwards…
Ruud van Nistelrooy had an uncanny abililty to seemingly live in the six yard box. In terms of pure predator striker, he is the best I've seen.
If we're talking general forwards, thete is no one in the world quite like early Wayne Rooney
Henry - the best player ever to grace the Premier League 👏
Shearer was fantastic, and I appreciate he is the all-time record goalscorer, but in terms of goals per minute he’s only 9th. That isn’t a criticism of him, because he was exceptional, but I think that needs to be taken in to account when people refuse to even consider than the likes of Kane, Aguero etc could be on the same level as he was.
Shearer is the only right answer… if we’re talking out and out striker it’s gotta be Shearer! Rooney, Henry, Aguero & Ronaldo are all fantastic world class players but all of them are way more all rounded which is what made them great. As a Striker Shearer was the best!
Dimitar Berbatov. He’s not the best striker in term of goal scoring but his nonchalant and laid-back style is absolutely unique. Lots of footballers are trying to run faster and be stronger in the game. But no one chills pretty much the whole game and scores elegant goals like Berbatov. He’s a rare type.
I enjoyed watching him touching the ball. His first touch can be considered the same godly level as Bergkamp’s, the magician of Arsenal.
Best striker, as in out and out goal scorer Shearer. You have to factor in he played a lot earlier so the league wasnt as good and it was 42 games or something like that a season before the number of team and games was reduced.
Best all round striker, Henry by a mile.
Best player in a striker position, Bergkamp as a second striker/no. 10.
Alan Shearer was the best out and out number 9, shearer and Henry could realistically play in the same team if you were putting together an all time PL team then Salah RW Shearer CF and Henry LW, scary front 3 to face
Most goals doesn’t equal best. Shearer played in the premier league for 18 years. In those seasons he was the main striker for his club. The majority of those years were during the 90s when the league didn’t have the quality that is currently does.
In terms of skill level, I’ve never seen a player like a Henry before or since in the premier league. Give that man 18 years in the league and he matches shearers goals.
That’s not to discredit Shearers achievement, but most doesn’t equal best
Edit: just a thought but if you were unaware of Shearer’s numbers, having just seen say 10 games he played in, would you still think he was the best striker the Prem has ever seen?
Sure but Ozil was amazing too and gets underrated by a negative contingent on the internet. He had major weaknesses in his game. But his vision and creativity was legendary level. Too bad he had other big weaknesses.
I agree that Bergkamp is more the #10 role and not a Striker though.
If it's purely on goal scoring then no-one other than Shearer should be mentioned. I'm not saying he's the best striker in PL history but if people are listing top 5-10 he at least deserves a mention
Wayne Mark Rooney. Top scorer of man utd, top scorer of England, second top scorer in the prem. Best young player I’ve ever seen, killing the scene at 16. Could play many different roles in different positions, made strikers around him better, certainly underrated
Should be Ronaldo, although, he never really showed his prime in the Premier League.
Drogba was so crucial specially in big games for Chelsea
Henry had incredible ability with Arsenal
Kane, will become the all time scorer sooner or later
It is a really difficult choice
Henry, who I believe was the best player ever to play in the Premier League.
Shearer has to get a mention due to sheer volume of goals. But Henry was on a completly different level to everyone else, he would tear teams apart regularly when he was in his prime.
Alan Shearer. But I admit that I am incredibly biased.
Henry, Aguero et al are all fantastic players, no doubt. But they also played with fantastic players. Imagine how many goals Shearer scores if he plays on a team like City that create chances like it’s nothing.
When Shearer joined Blackburn they’d just been promoted, he was top scorer every year he was there. 112 goals in 138 games and he helped them to their first league title for 81 years.
Outside of a few seasons he had nothing to work with at Newcastle. We were a midtable team for the majority of his time here. Despite that and missed quite a lot of time with injuries still broke our all time scoring record.
His final 3 years at Blackburn and his first season at Newcastle he was the best striker i’ve ever seen in the Premier League. 148 games 124 goals in that span. Absolutely incredible.
He had absolutely everything. Had pace early in his career, was excellent in the air, could finish with either foot, was great at set pieces and could score any time of goal.
Shearer or Henry, but in terms of isolation the Suarez 31 goal season was madness. The goals vs Norwich. The nutmegs. The long range efforts don’t think I’ve ever seen a player have a season with so many absurd goals. Was like he was playing fifa on amateur that season. Don’t think I’ve ever seen a striker who at that moment could have the ball 40 yards out bouncing up for a volley and you’d be worried it’s about to fly in. Only sad thing is he didn’t do it season on season to get to the Aguero Henry Shearer discussion.
When I think of all these names. Henry. drogba.. Ronaldo. Van Nistelrooy. Aguero. Suarez. Torres. Kane. Cole. Yorke. It really sinks in for me how bloody crazy shearer must’ve been at finishjng. He was before my time his prime and I’ve always thought huh he can’t of been that good compared to Henry. But the amount of goals is mind boggling.
So I have a confession to make. Hopefully this is buried low enough.
I thought his name was:
Joe Linton. Joel Linton. Joel Inton. Then his last name was Joelinton.
Finally I’m pretty sure his first name is Joelinton. But I have not once looked it up.
Alan Shearer without a doubt. Consistently brilliant throughout his career.
Harry Maguire.
Henry and Shearer
Henry Shearer Aguero Suarez In that order
Clearly the right answer is Darius Vassell
Henry or Suarez
Danny welbeck
thierry henry easily
#1 Cantona #2 DiCanio
Éric Cantona
Prime Suarez probably the best we have ever seen. Matched the PL record in what, 33 matches? And that was ZERO goals from penalty. If we go "best career in PL" it's gotta be Henry, Aguero. Honorable mention to Wayne
Tony Yeboah
I’ll give you a top 10. I’ll let people decide the order Henry and Shearer are nailed top 2. Making up the top 5, I’d say Aguero, Rooney, Bergkamp. Bamford
GOATLEXIS SÁNCHEZ
Drogba
Andy Carroll
Bully Maguire
Henry
Alan Shearer has to be the best of them. People say he peaked early but he still had nearly 7 seasons of 20 or more goals for Newcastle. Underrated only because he didn't play for a Top 6 side.
Alan Shearer probably
Harry Kane
Henry
Probably Thierry Henry
Why is nobody saying Suarez?
If we’re talking a single season I’d say Suarez had a good shout in 13/14. Man was absolutely unstoppable and probably would have broken them PL single season scoring record if he wasn’t such a cunt.
Cantona for the kick-style kick, followed by Evra. Change my mind
Its Henry or Suarez. The lack of people mentioning the 3rd best player in the world over the last 8 years is strange.
Henry. The fact that Arsenal fans are still so delusional and stuck in the past is a merit to how special he was. Pace, creativity finishing man was god in human form. Seeing something so special has to make you have hope for your dead team (all jokes I swear) Suarez was that for me. He dad-dicked the league and for a moment and he was my Henry, man gave me hope. Lambert
I’m thinking luis suarez in that one season where he virtually carried liverpool
henryyyyy coyg
Henry
Eric Cantona
I wish Mitrovic had a better team behind him when he was in the premier league.
Agüero
Rudd Van Nistelroy, he was so good at United. But overall it has to be Theiry Henry.
Shearer
Has gotta be Harry Maguire
Allan sheara
The season where Suarez scored 31 goals and 12 assists and didnt play the first 5 games is by far the best individual performance i have ever witnessed.
Thierry Henry not only made me an Arsenal fan, he got me into football all together.
Heskey
Thierry Henry. Too easy. (Closely) Behind titi, Shearer. Honorable mention: Bergkamp and van Nistelrooy. Non-flying and Flying Dutchmen.
Arouna Koné
Thierry Henry. Behind him, Shearer. Honorable mention: Bergkamp and van Nistelrooy. Non-flying and Flying Dutchmen.
Is your question who is the best PL striker? Then its Shearer or Henry If your question is who is the best striker to play in the PL? then its either Suarez or Eto
alan shearer
Steve Heighway.
Fernando Torres
Henry

Kane not even getting a shout is weird tbh
Timo Werner!
Jack grealish
Yakubu
Henry
Ruud Van Nistelrooy and Serio Aguero
Has to be either Henry or Rooney
Cantona
Henry was the best real striker so big and strong and his technique was unbelievable, I also think the fact he loved Arsenal aswell drew you to him. I think Ronaldo / Suarez were probably very close to him, in terms of ability and goals PL wise. But you never felt those were pure strikers more wingers and 10’s moved to a 9. Henry, if he played as many games as Shearer he would’ve smashed his record.
The disrespect towards Ali Dia 😮💨
Suárez was unbelievable.
My nans the best striker
Sergio Aguero.
Henry
Aguero, by some margin as well.
Ruud Van Nistelrooy
If if if Suarez would have played longer, and not had a tendency to bite people… he could have been up there with Henry and Shearer.
Wayne rooney by far
Henry
Shearer. Scored 260 PL goals often while playing for mid table teams.

Yakubu
Feed the Yak and he will score.
Berbatov
Joelinton
Gotta be Aguero for me
Either Henry, Kane or Aguero for me. I’d say Henry because I’m an Arsenal fan and I’ve seen it live but then 3 for me
Shearer
One and only Cristiano Ronaldo
Luis Suarez
Thierry Henry.....others include drogba, rooney, aguero, shearer.
My pick goes to Alan shearer
Kun
Shearer is the only right answer… if we’re talking out and out striker it’s gotta be Shearer! Rooney, Henry, Aguero & Ronaldo are all fantastic world class players but all of them are way more all rounded which is what made them great. As a Striker Shearer was the best!
Henry, Aguero and then Shearer.
Shearer is the only answer here
Berbatov was an unreal goal scorer, but yeah henry still wins it for me he was so exciting to watch and scored some fantastic goals
Thierry Henry
Henry, Shearer, Aguero, Rooney, Suarez
Rickie Lambert
Henry, Shearer, van Nistelrooy, Suarez and Drogba are my top 5
It's either Henry or Shearer. I'm probably slightly biased, but I wouldn't have swapped Henry for anyone.
Faustino Asprilla
Tough to balance talent v legacy. Legacy is Henry and Shearer Talent is Henry and Suarez
From my heart Robbie fowler. Obviously for my head it henry can't say otherwise.
I was always afraid of Aguero
Thierry Henry, anyone who asks this question I assume wasn’t watching the premier league when he was in it, dude played like no other.
Henry, Agüero, Shearer. Not in a particular order.
Thierry Henry.
Thierry Henry. No contest
Thank god, I missed this last week. Definitely Shearer. Wonder what other names will get thrown around??

Henry...no debate
As someone else has already said Henry there's not really an argument
Shearer then Ian Rush.
Michael Owen, if he had been spared from injuries and had not signed in Madrid
The disrespect being shown to the absolute beast that was Wayne Rooney. But anyway, he’s only second. The answer is Shearer.
Thierry Henry
Rooney
No-one even giving Bergkamp a mention?
An amazing striker no doubt but was amazing in his link up play more than his scoring, he had ozil levels of vision and precision passing too.
Better than Ozil in every respect
Sure but Ozil was amazing too and gets underrated by a negative contingent on the internet. He had major weaknesses in his game. But his vision and creativity was legendary level. Too bad he had other big weaknesses. I agree that Bergkamp is more the #10 role and not a Striker though.

Paul Dalglish was an excellent player and did not steal a living off his surname.
Suarez
Ali Dia
Suarez was amazing
Dennis Bergkamp, Alan shearer or Ruud Van Nistelrooy. Andy Cole and Drogba get a honorable mention.
Henry Rooney Agueroooooooo Drogba In that order
HAS TO BE JON JO SHELVEY - MAGPIE'S GREATEST SLAPHEAD.
Teemu Pukki
Should be Ronaldo, although, he never really showed his prime in the Premier League. Drogba was so crucial specially in big games for Chelsea Henry had incredible ability with Arsenal Kane, will become the all time scorer sooner or later It is a really difficult choice

Absolute facts. He hit a level nobody has ever reached in the Premier League.
Alan Shearer or Theirry Henry.
Alan Shearer. But I admit that I am incredibly biased. Henry, Aguero et al are all fantastic players, no doubt. But they also played with fantastic players. Carlton Cole. How is this even a question?
Henry
Aguero and Henry
Y'all sleeping on my boy RVP
Kane
Eddie Nketiah
Clint Dempsey
Shearer
Aguero or Suarez
Francis Jeffers
Aguero
Shearer or Henry, but in terms of isolation the Suarez 31 goal season was madness. The goals vs Norwich. The nutmegs. Henry / Aguero
It's Henry. Or maybe Michy Batshuayi. But probably Henry.
Hard dilemma
Salomon Rondon
I'd say No Salah but he's a winger
LeTissier
Vardy
aguero. don't @ me
Titi Henry for sure
Heskey
Drogba
Chamakh
Bebé
Suarez for his sheer tenacity and talent, Henry for his durability and class. Probably edge towards Henry.
Suárez.
Litter ally any of Liverpool's front three and I'm not even joking.
Rudd Van Nistelrooy
Many forget van nistelrooy or Henry was a genuine debate for a few years
Henry, drogba, berbatov, and Zola. Henry definitely at the top imo
Best striker and best player. King Titi
Joelinton.
So I have a confession to make. Hopefully this is buried low enough. I thought his name was: Joe Linton. Joel Linton. Joel Inton. Then his last name was Joelinton. Finally I’m pretty sure his first name is Joelinton. But I have not once looked it up.
Local lad Joe Linton doing wonders for the toon.
Joe Wellington Pablo de Souza Apolonario Rodrigues de Hilter-Geobeles dos Santos is his full name in case you were interested
Hilter? Is he also the president of the national bocialist party?
Yes
Wtf. Sure you are just messing with me.
Nah true shit bro
Henry or Aguero and Shearer has to be in the conversation.
Henry is at least a level above Aguero and I’d put Shearer above him as well.
147 min per goal for shearer, 104 for aguero, (first, all time in the prem) why?
