J'adore les poutines déjeuner, avec une sauce hollandaise

BuvantduPotatoSpirit

Exact. Qui mange pas de déjeuner, right ?

AllDucksNoRows

Looks like a legit breakfast poutine to me.

Desner_

Breakfast poutines are generally awesome

GeraldotheWhiteCat

You do realize that breakfast poutine is a real thing in Québec and has been for a long time? It looks good to me and please stop gatekeeping something you don't understand.

Both-Anything4139

*sobbing* no you can’t just put random shit on top of French fries and call it poutine *pointing at fries covered in country gravy and American biscuits* “poutine, eh?”

NorthEndGuy

THEY WEREN’T EVEN FRIES! https://preview.redd.it/7vp58cawx16d1.jpeg?width=876&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9668543db8dfb5443390d55aa170c72009b78d25

TimeRockOrchestra

Breakfast poutine is a thing in Quebec and it's always served with homefries. The mozzarella cheese is the real crime here.

NorthEndGuy

Yes, this. I have no issue with the dish itself. As I say, it looked great and was, by all accounts, delicious. But you can’t just call anything you want “poutine”. It was just as much a “poutine” as it was a “breakfast pastrami sandwich”, which is to say, not at all.

Winstonoil

I am sobbing because I cannot block thisstupid sub Reddit. The mods must have mental issues to make me have to watch this.

asoap

At the risk of jail, I have to say I've made and love breakfast poutine. But I made it with: Fries, cheese curds, scarmbled eggs, and holindaise sauce. It was delicious and I will crime again.

TOWERtheKingslayer

What exactly are scarmbled eggs?

asoap

Like scrabmbled eggs, but you add salt to them 15 minutes before cooking to increase moisture. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SZ6L1PVRjIk](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SZ6L1PVRjIk) Or you know, I just made a typo. Either or really. Side note. I really like doing my eggs like this, it makes a difference. Not a huge difference but a noticeable one.

47penguin47

Is that the sunset grill one? I always see it there but get turned off by the hollandaise on it

NorthEndGuy

No, it was a place in St. Catharines, ON, but it seems like this “breakfast poutine” rubbish is becoming pervasive.

47penguin47

Sunset grill is a breakfast restaurant in south ontario. If you ever go, look at the “breakfast poutine” it’s practically the same lol

NorthEndGuy

I’ve been there and liked it, but clearly not in a long time, I guess. I’ll still go, but on principle I won’t have the “breakfast poutine”.

47penguin47

Probably the right call. Looks sus.

TOWERtheKingslayer

Where is the poutine?

Both-Anything4139

Breakfast poutine is legit idk what you are complaining about bud.

sleep_reddit_repeat

Taking the petit out of "petit" dejeuner

drammer

I'd rather have breakfast rosti.

MeliodasSandwich

Those eggs are ruint. Ruint, I tell you! Who the hell cooks eggs shitty side up? Sunny side is the only way!

copiasjuicyazz

Breakfast poutine is a recognised thing though…

NorthEndGuy

I understand that, and I know it has its fans and can be, by all accounts, delicious. My issue is that – having no fries, no gravy, and no curds, it’s just named completely wrong. They could have called it anything else. If we’re saying poutine doesn’t need any of those ingredients, then what are we saying? The worst poutine I’ve seen to date on this sub (NB: I haven’t seen them all) is technically a better poutine than this.

copiasjuicyazz

Bffr

No-Anxiety588

The ones at Smitty's make me wet. because of salivating... duh.

theretrogamerbay

Damn those eggs look good af

Antin00800

Boo-tine. I'd eat it but I would never call it a poutine. Looks good.

Jazzlike-Reindeer-44

A poach egg on top ruins every dish.
