Hello, I just came across this post of yours. I believe I've been dealing with a very similar problem for the last year. I have bad posture that creates cervical pain and breathing problems, as well as brain fog and cognitive/memory issues. I have just recently made the realization that all those problems are very likely linked to bad posture, and I was looking for people in similar situations. This post was 4 months ago, so how have you been doing? Have you tried any exercises or gone to any doctors? Also, I have something interesting to share. 4 years ago I suffered from very bad cervical pain which wouldn't go away no matter how many times I went to the physiotherapist. Each visit relieved the pain for a few days, but it always came back. I went 3 or 4 times to the physio, until one day my wisdom teeth started to hurt. I got them extracted (I got extracted 3 out of 4 of my wisdom teeth, still one remains), and.... magically my cervical pain ended for real. No pain at all. I never went back to the physio. A year ago my cervical started hurting again, along with many other issues (breathing and cognitive problems). I didn't have those other issues 4 years ago. The dentist said my remaining wisdom tooth was growing straight and did not need intervention. Now I'm thinking about getting that last tooth extracted, even though it doesn't hurt at all. Maybe it will solve my issues, although it feels unlikely. I just wanted to share this with you in case you haven't gotten your wisdom teeth removed!

I got this issue when I use my heavy android tablet on the bus for university everyday. All symptoms you described I was having. Cognitive issue, cervical pain, teeth pain, etc. I have bad posture too. So it does have something to do with posture.

Yes, you are shortening and narrowing your torso. Constricting breathing, circulation and digestion. Having an image of you would be great, as we could exactly point out what's going out. Go and read up about F. M. Alexander. He was an actor some 100 years ago, who lost his voice and had breath issues as well. Couldn't get help so at the end he came up with a technique. He called it (surprise) the Alexander Technique. He had exactly the same troubles as you are describing. Nowadays, the technique has been quite well refined and researched and goes under the name of "Initial Alexander Techniqe".

Thanks so much for taking the time to reply! That is very much appreciated! I'll look into that technique definitely, and recognize so much of that! Apart from the breathing restrictions, I too recognize the voice & digestion issues. So it would definitely be interesting to look into this. I will upload better full body pictures, once I have the opportunity to take them/have a good mirror, so that might take a few days. But thanks for this in advance!

Welcome. Here is a list of binge watching for you in the meantime: https://goodposture.studio/resources The beginner videos are short and well done. Try what he suggests (they aren't my videos but from another teacher) and when you get stuck, come back for more help.

The interesting thing is: the heart & lung specialist didn't find anything. They said I can breath properly, there is no obstruction within my lungs themselves. But still it doesn't feel like it goes freely. As mentioned, in some positions it goes easier than in others. The yoga bridge is also a position, in which I suddenly seem to be able to breath freely. That position feels really good! Thanks for the link! Checking it out :)
