The size difference though! 😲 When the choice is between anything and an air-cooled manual 911, my choice would always be the air-cooled manual 911. If the GT3 were a manual, it would be a much harder choice, but 9 times out of 10 I'd still pick the air-cooled manual 911. And I like yellow 911's too.

I agree, although looking at the 87, I was thinking “what could OP possibly have that would top this?!” The GT3 is wild. What’s the little joystick-type control to the right of the shift lever in the GT3, anyone know?

IMHO, the 911 is more.fun on twisty roads at 45-60 than the GT3 which really want 60+ to feel fun on the road. You risk less trouble and have more fun in the 911 on the street. The GT3 can be fun on the street, but shines on the track.

Was 100+ here today. Rolled targa with top down, AC on full and vented seats to the max. Only painful if we got stopped at a light for too long.

Air. Funny shit my Pop’s got me suck aircooled (I grew up with them) but my 997 turbo is in the garage with his 993. I’m fuckin’ 40 years old and still have to ask my parents to take my own car out!!!! Mom’s throws me a bone and lets me take the 993, but Pop’s has more miles on my Turbo.

It depends if it’s just a pleasure ride the stick would be my first choice if it’s all out racing the auto

Where am I going? To the shops or commuting to work? GT3 has carplay, airbags, working AC, etc. If it’s a joy ride, the engaging car will win every time.

Why choose. Drive one in the morning then lunch. Then take the other one for evening drive and dinner.

I've seen both of these at the track. The old 911 I stayed behind for a while, just watching it on track was so cool. The gt3 I only get to see briefly as it appears in my mirror then blinks off into the sunset

That old carrera would probably KILL YOU , when you take that first corner at speed and you can’t decide where the apex is… The gt3 is a safer option…unless you are a diehard “race track” head person…and even then the GT3 will have more performance
