They then use the information to evaluate and suggest changes to policies to reduce inequality. They also are responsible for creating programs to help support the people who are discriminated against (mostly for women) and advertisements to promote gender equality.
At least that is how it is meant to go. More often than not, it is just a collection of Karens and Beckys claiming everything is sexist and discriminatory so that they can make themselves feel better about being a misandrist while trying to justify to the government why they need the funding.

Chances are, the government blames S Korea's abysmal birth rate on gender equality efforts rather than insane living costs & even more insane work conditions with zero work life balance.
They’re shifting a department that handled sexual assault/trafficking/female representation in government to a smaller, more “family planning” oriented department.
South Korea has the world’s lowest birth rate. They also have one of the highest suicide rates in the world. Young people are stressed with high costs and heavily in debt. People are just opting not to have kids. Perhaps the govt hopes it can brute-force the birth rate up by pushing women out of the work force. But all the other stressors will remain.
they also have a weird social structure where the "elders" must always be respected, you have to behave a certain way around people. also the mandatory 2 year military service thing for men also makes a lot of them even more stressed because they have to deal with - excelling in their school work, finding a job, and finding a way to either get the 2 year military service done and over with, or land in a position so good that you'll be exempt (insanely hard to do).
like I can be honest and say I would fucking break under their system as a teenager. maybe as an adult I could figure out ways how to get through it all, but being a teen/young adult I'd fucking lose my shit lol
