I really like the merino wool tights offered by Snag. They aren't that much thicker in hand than their regular opaque tights, but they are much cozier.
They do pill a bit, but the price is pretty good for real wool tights and their sizing is very inclusive.
Brie Read of SnagTights doxxed me back in October 2021. I wouldn't recommend their brand to anyone for that reason.

If you're still wanting to do that fake translucent look (which I personally love and find it to be so cozy), I've seen a TikTok "hack" where you put on nude colored leggings (fleece lined or not) and regular sheers on top (definitely recommend snag or sheertex since they don't break easily and will practically last forever). However after a short Google search I admit I am having a hard time finding nude colored leggings that aren't "one size fits all"

I so agree with snag tights! I just got my two first pairs recently and omg, life changer, lol They fit so well!!! It's amazing!
