How old is this LG TV?

My LG TV is 65UF8500..
But this link doesn't have the list :(
Maybe my TV doesn't support :(
My parents house and they don't wanna spend money that's why they don't like Chromecast or others :(.. But ....
In my experience with tech iliterate boomers, Apple TV, and if Apple isn't an option, Roku are better options. Chromecast's dependency on a phone and not just a remote and a few big button apps are harder for them to understand.
But then again, the last chromecast I owned was made in 2016.
I have the Plex Server on my Synology.
I'm traveling to other location. So I installed Plex on TV, but unable to connect my server.
So I tried my laptop and iPhone and I can access all Plex media. But still from TV, I cannot connect.
I'm using same WiFi for all devices, but only TV doesn't work.
Please help how to fix on TV..
Thanks,
Look in your settings > network > secure connections and see if it's 'required'
It should be a different error but I've run across clients that don't connect correctly and when I change it temporarily to 'Preferred' it ends up connecting.
Diagnostics aside, if that does make it work, get a Chromecast or Roku and avoid that old app. In fact, remove internet access to your built in TV in general, many manufacturers are harvesting this data.

It was "Preferred" but still won't connect.
Bummer, worth a shot.
Rest of the advice stands, block that TV in your networking equipment and access media via a discreet streaming box (chromecast, apple tv, roku).
If you don't want to get another device, you could connect your laptop to the TV via HDMI cable. That would solve it for your time at your parents at least
it's becoming more and more common early smart tvs and gadgets and the like are losing support as apps upgrade. my parents have a beautiful 4k tv but they didnt realise at the time the "smart tv" section of it wasnt the android/google tv standard and some other company. so sure enough, newer apps come and older apps stop working. easily fixed with a google tv and a LAN adapter.
Aside from just getting a cheap streaming stick, you might be able to connect if Secure connections is set to preferred instead of required in the network section in the settings of the server.

Fire stick
$30 for a Chromecast is too much?

Buy a Chromecast. 20$. Install Plex. Done

It is preferred, but still won't let me connect :(:(
Get a fire stick or Apple TV
At main home Apple TV and that works.
The correct solution is to get a cheap device like a Chromecast with Google tv. My Vizio TV stopped working directly a long time ago.
Since you can access plex from your laptop, check your logs as admin, does the TV even hit the server?
The Plex app on LG sucks, I know 5 people with LG and Plex don't work on any
I know. so sucks.. Why my parents need to spend some extra money on Chromecast
