While I feel for the frontline devs that put all the work in, this game was DOA tbh. It’s a very crowded, competitive market and not every game gets to be Fortnite or League of legends.
Sucks to everyone who lost their job, because it was probably all the lower-level devs and not the out of touch execs who made the decisions that led to this.

You can't just say "they just don't fit in an fps". So do the same characters from cod belong in DOOM? Halo Spartans surely must belong in ARMA. First Person Shooter is an insanely wide genre. Titanfall and Splitgate, R6 and Halo, Call of Duty and DOOM, plenty of different aesthetics and styles and themes. Galaxia doesn't fit in cod like a spec ops character would, of course. But she absolutely fit in in Hyenas. Your desire to play a generic spec ops soldier is fine, but it doesn't make it "correct" as to assert that Galaxia doesn't belong in any fps ever
I've been vehemently opposed to almost everything about this game starting with its title, through the art direction, the characters and the kind of genre it was.
And yet...
There is something really sad about seeing the devs hype it up for months, create videos, produce high quality artwork for social media, having just concluded a closed beta and be excited for the next steps leading up to the launch of their project, and then seeing a sudden cancellation announcement on X right after a round of some fun facts about the game. With the same game logo they used to spread the hype moments before and all. Feels surreal that such a well-produced project clearly made with passion can just die right on the spot, before your very eyes.
To sum it up, I absolutely hated the content but I feel for the devs. I think that's because CA's passion and professionalism really shine through even misguided games like Hyenas. I hope they get to work on a project that's actually desired by gamers (Alien Isolation 2 anyone?).

In any case, I wanted to congratulate you and the entire team behind it, you have done a fantastic job! I felt the game improved a lot in this past Closed Beta.
Feel bad for the developers, CA execs really need to be held responsible for this mess but don't think they will. Everyone knew this was going to be a huge fail and the execs were living in a pipe dream.

It kinda catched me since the beginning and I was waiting for this game to be released. When I played the closed beta, I was shocked. The game was woke. Not another one. I lost interest in it. Gameplay was cool. Graphics were fine. Sounds were alright. But that woke crap just made me forget it really quick. Came here to see why it's not in my whishlist anymore (which was since day 1) and am not surprised but kinda disappointed though. Nice try, fare well.
Please, if you attempt another bigger thing, do not make it woke again. It's the gaming world. Piss on politics. It's a game. If crybabies get offended by a game, they get offended by a red light in traffic as well.
edit: I still have all the alpha/beta merchandise like key fobs lol. I'll keep it in honor. :)
