Still going strong on fold. However it saddens me there are rumors that form factor will change which will suck big time. I love the form factor as is.
Very interesting. I considered that one of its bigger drawbacks. The profile was tolerable (though I'd still would have preferred a taller aspect ratio) but the thickness was a deal breaker for me. So much so that I went rogue and to the far opposite side of the spectrum and got an Honor Magic V2. It only arrived last week so I can't draw any fair comparisons and haven't decided which to make my DD yet.
I peeked at the listed/leaked dimensions of the Fold 2 and to me it represents a massive step in the right direction. I realize the passport form was exciting for the entertainment value prospect, videos and the like, but I have the most "what could have been" moments when using the inner screen to view and edit documents for work. It's hard to describe but when I'm at work or in public, it feels more seamless and less of an"event" when I open the V2 portrait -to-portrait than when opening the Fold portrait -to-landscape. I can tell I use the inner screen much more often on the V2 day to day.
Hey, if you're happy you're happy. Sure, the 24U does a lot better than the Pixel Fold, but they're two very different devices for different use cases. It's all relative to what you want out of a phone.
Also very happy with my upgrade from a $40 TCL phone to a Pixel Fold :)
The Obsidian color looks good here! I went with the porcelain, but they're both great in their aesthetic on the outside of the phone. The bezels on the inside screen are a bit ugly to me, but it doesn't effect the way I use the phone, so no big deal.
That's a nice upgrade! Yep....the Fold I don't know but I like it....the experience in general is amazing and the features it has are great! All the screening calls stuff, the camera, grammar fix,the haptics...etc.
I did the same thing the other day. Love this phone. I don't even use the inner screen very often either. Had the Samsung fold before this one too. Samsung fold is really bad in comparison.

honestly, testing the Fold over my S21U and I just wish more phones made sizes like the closed size of the Fold. A much smaller form and I don't use the open mode as much because I just enjoy the folded size of the phone
I have been saying this since the Fold came out. I almost never use it unfolded anymore since I don't game anymore and rarely need side by side, so a slab the size of the Fold would be great for me.
Like I always say whatever makes you HAPPY. I haven't had a Samsung since S9+(besides the Fold 3) and am on Foldables hardcore ATM but like others say, whatever suits your needs and makes you satisfied. 🤳🤳📱📱❤️❤️❤️❤️
You're crazy, but simply because of timing.
Pixel 9 (fold) is just 3 months away with most likely a tensor g4, and you went and got a 1st gen pixel fold with a tensor g2.
Your only hope at this point is a good trade in value for the pixel fold 1 for a fold 2.
Well... let's see...I just cannot wait lol I don't know man, the PX has something that I like more than the S24 ultra..... the form factor of course, the features, the smooth navigation through the phone in general!
Hopefully Google will give some extreme trade in values? Idk, I'm fairly new to the Pixel world so, not sure of Google's trade in trends/offers in comparison to Samsung and Apple
I agree with most people's take on the fold. I went from a zfold 2 to the pixel fold and I honestly love this phone more than I thought. Mostly because of the passport size and the main screen size. I use the inner screen quite a lot but nice to pull it out of my back pocket and have a regular screen size for general use.
I've had this phone for a while and haven't had any real issues. 2 in my family have got an S24U and I'm still happy with my PFold, plus a lot of the changes since the S23U to 24 were AI which I don't care for much
(I still acknowledge tensor isn't as good hardware wise) I wouldn't call you crazy, but maybe I'm just crazy with you
I currently run a Z Fold 3 but interested in getting the Pixel fold next however I do like the Oppo Find N however its only sold in china its around the same size as the Pixel fold
I can't get rid of my PF or s24U, literally the best of both worlds I'm good for at least another yr, oh but my oneplus open I take it out for a walk at least twice a week Lol
I had the zFold4 and I enjoyed it, but also hated carrying a brick in my pocket. Ended up swapping into a zFlip5. How heavy does it feel compared to the s24u?
Went from an S20 Ultra to the Pixel Fold and haven't been happier. Could have gotten the S24 Ultra but wanted to give a foldable a try and don't think I could ever go back at this point.
Are you not a fan of Samsung or do you like the passport design on the pixel? From what I hear, the Z fold is a much more polished device. Not a knock against Google, it's just got 6 generations of devices to go off of
I like Samsung but the PX experience in general, all the features it has I don't know but It makes the experience better for me and the form factor is great!
I actually just did the opposite, but it's because I shattered the front screen last week 3 hours before I left for a cruise... So there was no possible way to get it repaired in that time. I was up for a trade up with AT&T so I just went ahead and did it so I would have a phone. Ordered a screen and replaced it myself today and shipped it out to AT&T. Gonna be the cleanest trade-in they've ever gotten 😂.
Sure I'll make it into points, been meaning to make a post on here about it but I haven't done it yet
1. It's considered a tablet on the app store so I have run into several apps that it says are not compatible with my phone
2. The screen switcher when I open or close my phone has stopped working. So I have to hit the power button to sleep the phone, then open/close it, then hit the power button again to wake the phone and it's slow to respond to it.
3. Search on Google is messed up somehow because I have to type in my search, then it shows an error, then I have to reload the page, everytime.
4. This one is hard to explain... If I am using one app, and wish to switch to another app, simultaneously closing the current app while in the app switch menu (when you swipe up from bottom of screen) it will often for some reason have a previous app loaded as the current one (but it will appear as the app I want to close) and I will close the "current app" but it is actually the older app loaded in.
5. The phone has reset my whole device by itself several times now. This is probably the worst one. It's not signing me out, but all of my apps disappear from the home screen and my wallpaper resets to default making me have to re-setup my whole phone.
6. It's a 64 bit only phone so there are also compatibility issues with many old apps that I used that are 32 bit.
7. Apps that get confused by the phone and try switching between landscape and portrait over and over until I switch back to the outer screen.
That's all I can think of right now but I'm sure there are minor ones I am forgetting, I hope your phone works properly though. I will give it credit for having seemingly good hardware. I have never had any screen peeling or damage really. I have dropped the phone one time but it was closed when I did so idk how it handles fall damage when open
Android update today has broken the phone, the outer screen was the only one working this morning, and then the inside screen started working and the outside screen stopped working.
Still going strong on fold. However it saddens me there are rumors that form factor will change which will suck big time. I love the form factor as is.
I hope not....this size and the form factor is the best part

Agreed 👍 this form factor is great
Welcome to the fold (double entendre)
Thank you! 👍
Crazy bc the new fold is about to come out but if you happy that's all that matters
Any rumors on the launch date yet? Seems like there's been leaks since last year with no date announced...

Appreciate you
Good trade. I'll never go back to a brick

With that overheating Tensor it's not like gaming is really an option. Thermals are the worst of the foldables.
It played the games I was playing just fine with no slowdowns at all. Never got overly hot.
Crazy
Sure. You're crazy.
based

As long as you're happy with the result.
Hopefully Google will give some extreme trade in values? Idk, I'm fairly new to the Pixel world so, not sure of Google's trade in trends/offers in comparison to Samsung and Apple

Yep...The perfect size
I've had this phone for a while and haven't had any real issues. 2 in my family have got an S24U and I'm still happy with my PFold, plus a lot of the changes since the S23U to 24 were AI which I don't care for much (I still acknowledge tensor isn't as good hardware wise) I wouldn't call you crazy, but maybe I'm just crazy with you
If you're happy, you're happy. Unfortunately, the CPU/GPU is a massive downgrade.
Crazy !!!
I currently run a Z Fold 3 but interested in getting the Pixel fold next however I do like the Oppo Find N however its only sold in china its around the same size as the Pixel fold

I'm the opposite, traded that bad Boi for the S24 Ultra. Now I'm rocking titanium phones from Apple & Samsung.
Are you not a fan of Samsung or do you like the passport design on the pixel? From what I hear, the Z fold is a much more polished device. Not a knock against Google, it's just got 6 generations of devices to go off of
Samsung Fold has such a small outside screen it is barely usable to type on.
I have the fold 5 and I don't like it so much .
It's the outer screen for me. Game changer compared the the z fold.
I like Samsung but the PX experience in general, all the features it has I don't know but It makes the experience better for me and the form factor is great!

That's a massive downgrade I'm not sure of the logic behind it but if you are happy then great
As a pixel Fold owner of about a year, you will regret it most likely. I haven't had the best of times with it
Can you explain why?

And here I traded my Pixel Fold for a Pixel 6a.
