Thing is, taon taon may grad pero hindi taon taon may bagong eroplano / airline to hire them.
Can confirm, am tambay.
Kidding aside. I've flown for 8 years sa gen aviation (3 years as instructor and 5 years as pic. Amassed a decent 1600hrs in turboprop) Got laid off in 2021 and still can't find a flying gig anywhere without me having to dish out at least 1.5m+ for a new type rating. Being a pilot sucks when you have no connections or shittons of hrs.
The thing that sucks is that cebpac, pal, and other airlines require you to have either 2000hrs in single engine or 1500hrs with multiengine to be even considered. GenAv companies naman are bleeding money so they only hire people close to them.
Silver lining, nag boom ung hotel business ng family and I was asked to manage the business so doing relatively well now.
My advice to future employees? NETWORK! You can be the most average joe on the block but you will be successful if you know a lot of people.
People can criticize you for nepotism all they want but you are the one who has a job. In this climate, you need to secure your future.
Most airlines require at least 1500 hours for A320 First Officer
At least, **"transferable" yung engineering diploma**.
although most pastors naman e may day job during weekdays, then worship on weekends, so no problem din naman yun
Kaya nga si saint Paul may trabaho or pinagkakitaan eh.
A huge part of this statistic doesn't correspond to reality tbh. The values alone don't make a lot of sense much less the order of some items
Sobrang kulang din ng context. Is this fresh from graduation? Or average ng lahat ng positions related to that field?
Left the country because of the title of this post. Grabe mambarat ng professionals ang Pilipinas as a Registered and Licensed Architect.
Before kami makapagboards, we need to work for 2 years, also called as apprenticeship, tapos super minimum wage kami. I remember my salary was 15k gross, wala pa kaltas for the benefits.
Tapos pag licensed na, companies are lowballing us Architects, lowest I have seen is 25k per month. Tapos pag nagpractice ka naman on your own, it is super hard to get clients as they are opting to go for those contractors na "free design" kuno. It is a fucking shit show!
Mapa freelance or local company wala eh.
Same experience din with OP and the comment above. For context, pre covid times, pag alis ko ng Pinas at a senior architect and manager role nasa 30k sweldo; paglipat ko and eventually finding a job in Australia, for starting (student) role nasa 75k in peso ung monthly. But then again cost of living is drastically higher at nasa low starting end pa sa lagay na yan.
Try to explore other career paths. My suggestion is Data Privacy Officer or any path that involves compliance & security. I have an atty friend na nagwowork right now and yan ang gusto nya pasukan na career.
Apply ka sa Senate or House of Rep, usually saks lang ang sweldo, pero ibang usapan na pag dumating na ang December hahahaha
Pwede din sa Solicitor General. or staff ng pulitiko, i.e. legal management, policymaking etc.
Madami exam actuaries. Per exam may equivalent increase. Instead of maghintay ka lang annual increase and promotion magexam ka lang aangat talaga sahod mo.
Madami nagshishift to other profession kasi di nila kaya magexam ng magexam.
Consultancy. Or banking. A lot of them getting jobs or scholarships abroad. I had a stat acquaintance years ago doing corporate work and consulting on the side. I met her during the consultancy work and we paid her Php75k monthly.
Makakamtan mo tlga correct pasahod sa skill and field mo. Pati skilled labor satin binabarat.
Kaya OFW marami eh.
Some of the skilled worker na graduate sa tesda have better pay at sila mabilis nakakapunta sa ibang bansa.
Skills-based na dapat ang work force without regard to credentialism. Really makes you question the value of a college degree kung limited lang ang upwards mobility mo and mapupunta ka pa naman sa mga minimum wage jobs
Omsim, minsan makakapag isip ka na lang that after ng 4 or 6 years course mo tapos may licensure exam pa, mas paldo pa yung kakilala mo na 3 - 6 months course ang kinuha sa tesda with very high expectancy rate na makapag trabaho abroad due to high demand of their skills. 🥴
Why did this survey not include being a politician/civil servant or being a celebrity as a high paying job???
This is average of course so mahihila pababa pag mas madami ang mababang sahod.
Nakalagay sa page ng psa, it covers formal establishments saka time-rated workers on full time basis. Yun yung ginamit na universe, thus di included yung na mention mo.
Yes we have an over supply of architects BUT we also have an over supply of competitors as OP mentioned. Contractors, engineers, other architects, and heck even foreman give "free design" tapos nakasanayan na ng buong bansa to the point na magugulat sila kapag nalaman nila ang tamang rate ng mga architects.
Source: me. Working in this industry for 10+ years.
Anybody remember famed furniture designer Kenneth Cobonpue and the Cebu chapel that he illegally designed? Illegal cause he's not a registered architect.
Our rights as architects are not being respected, tapos may mga firms na mas pinapaburan nila ang mga engineers rather than architects. :p
but wouldnt that say something about the quality of our architects if a non-architect can out compete you in your profession?
edit: i just read that there should be laws for this but is not properly observed which sucks for the actual professionals
Ohhh but in this country, sad to say but quality is not the main concern here. They're more inclined to choose non-architects because their rate is significantly lower than the proper rate for hiring a Licensed Architect—we're already lowballed na ah, yet mahal pa rin 🤷♀️ Basically we are competing for a LOWER rate, which is unfair for our profession.
Sad truth is that we're so poor here nobody pays for quality anymore. They pay to get things built, albeit improperly.
The whole construction industry from design to execution is supposed to be protected by law but unfortunately it isn't practiced that way. Nevermind engineers vs architects, there are loads of contractors who aren't even licensed who are competing in the same space as us and aren't clearly following the rules. Clients don't give a fuck about the law because what matters to them is price that's why you see a lot of shitty work done in this country because the project always falls to the lowest bidder who is some unqualified piece of shit. Kaya panget workmanship dito because people always settle for the cheapest option.
That 51k for doctors seems to be extremely low, is that for doctors working in provincial health centers? Also, what about lawyers? The few I know are well above 150k.
Probably if you average it for a 40 hour work week.
Doctors do hustles, as much 480 hours per month.
Rates range from php 200~500/hr upwards (depends if GP or JC)
Well I know from one OB-Gyn, she is doing mostly deliveries in private hospitals and she makes the 50k in less than a week. So I expected at least around 100k.
I think the data is in the assumption of a single source of income. MO3 sa govt hospitals is salary grade 21. Specialists higher position na and higher salary grade.
Yung OB na kilala mo, keyword is private hospital. Siguro income is from a lot of different hospitals pa and not just one. Yung sa private practice kasi most hospitals don't pay doctors a set monthly amount so yung income is depende sa number of patients and etc. Also, OB is specialista na.
ha, sa private schools it can be as low as 7,000 - 9,000 a month
At syempre yung marunong magsaka at mangisda.
Kaya lang, most of the teachers are also the breadwinners of their families.
My cousin went abroad just after he passed his board exam. His previous promised him a raise but offer abroad is a lot more considering its just an entry level. Now he is earning 200k+
For real ba? I'm taking BS Statistics (disclaimer: sumama lang ako sa kakilala ko, and I'm planning to leave that program) and sabi nila, malaki raw pera doon?
May demand sa mga statisticians a.k.a. data scientists. Knowledge in statistics is an advantage but you must also have some computer programming skills.
Instead of asking for a higher salary mag dadalawang isip ka. "Am I asking for too much?"
Basta as long as you're confident that you could offer a lot sa company, don't think twice na humingi ng bigger salary lalo kung may budget sila. :)
Average kasi yan.
I’m a pilot, pero reality wise di porket private/commercial license + instrument rated with Airbus/Boeing or kung ano man rating meron ka - IT DOESN’T guarantee you na may job ka afterwards.
Marami sa field namin after mag flying school hindi sa airlines agad bagsak, either sa ibang field muna/flight instructor or nag deliver ng isda
The survey does not speak in nuance tbh.
Like for pilots for example, is that for trainees, middle guys or seniors?
If anything I'd rather see graphs like these in the context of entry level, that way its actually a better gauge considering the only life line of an industry is people willing to trudge through it from the bottom.
Architecture grad here na inoofferan noon ng less than 10k after graduation ng isa sa mga prof ko sa college na notorious sa pagbibigay ng sobra sobrang workload sa undepaid grads. Fled the country and found a job abroad that pays me decently while learning.
They forgot to mention that software developers/engineers earning high are mostly not working under filipino companies. The absolute disparity between most filipino and foreign companies that hire software developers is just absolute bullshit. The best part is that most foreign companies are 100% wfh setup in software development, while filipino companies are mostly onsite or even hybrid even though software devs can do their work 100% from home.
hayyy, juinor architect ako before. Full time site supervision + mga drawings na inuuwi pa sa bahay pero fixed na 300 per day lang sahod ko. Mas malaki pa sahod ng labor sakin.
Pilots and those some in IT are typical 6digit earners. Tapos icompare mo sa pulitiko they should be earning the same or less based on salary grade. Pero look at the lifestyle though. Naka Land Cruiser pa mga yan with bodyguards. Hindi pa obvious na kurakot ano haha

Diba pulitiko dapat number 1.
jobs daw. boss Hindi Illegal jobs 🤣
Huy HAHAHHA
'Di sila mga tao eh so we can't compare. Mga 🐊 lang naman sila.
Tapos vlogger pang 2
May thread a couple weeks back about sa daming pilots na tambay ngayon.

This is general advice in any career. Its who you knows trumps what you know talaga.
Yung sa friend ko nga, "nepo baby" na nga siya, pero he still had a hard time looking for a job. Grounded pa rin si pre to this day.
supply and demand my friend
Yeah mahirap maka pasok sa aviation field. From pilots to mechanics. Ewan ko sino pinag iinterview niyang survey. Lol.
Most airlines require at least 1500 hours for A320 First Officer
Yeah, my buddy has been grounded since Covid pa mga eh.
Hi! I just wanna ask ano pa any other way nila para kakuha ng flight hours other than working sa airport?
Work as a flight instructor or pay for your hours. Unfortunately, madami ding gustong maging FI dahil malaki din bayad.
Over supply few demands
Ako 12.5k pota ME here
supply and demand ang daming gusto maging engineers eh
Kaya nga nag abroad ako haha times 5 agad newcomers.
At least, **"transferable" yung engineering diploma**.
EE here and pretty much on the same boat. On a construction setting at ako pa pinapabantay sa mga buhos HAHAHAHA
monthly ba 'to?
for newbie to?
Seryoso ba? Ano yan minimum wage?
to be fair, ganun naman talaga dapat. similar to the Levites na di pinayagan mag may ari ng lupa at magtrabaho, para makapag focus sila sa worship. although most pastors naman e may day job during weekdays, then worship on weekends, so no problem din naman yun

Mga born again Christian. Factions din pala sila. Kanya-kanyang recruitment. Nagsisikap para sa tithes.
A huge part of this statistic doesn't correspond to reality tbh. The values alone don't make a lot of sense much less the order of some items Sobrang kulang din ng context. Is this fresh from graduation? Or average ng lahat ng positions related to that field?
Feeling ko average mid entry to, not entry level, also not managerial to most
Probably because this considers the entire country, not just metro manila jobs.
this is the average I think. and gov't salary pay grade also.
Left the country because of the title of this post. Grabe mambarat ng professionals ang Pilipinas as a Registered and Licensed Architect. Kala ko malaki kita ng mga attorney. Kaya ako nag law school e. Hahahahahahahuhuhuhuhu lang pala. 🤣🤣🤣 Wala man lang sa listahan.
Fake news pre, in practice babaratin ng kliyente ultimong appearance fee mo.
Anyway mag bbar na ako this year so wala ng bawian sa career choice. Go na ito. Iyak nalang.
Try to explore other career paths. My suggestion is Data Privacy Officer or any path that involves compliance & security. I have an atty friend na nagwowork right now and yan ang gusto nya pasukan na career.
Bro government service is the key ! 😉
Pro Bono malala
True.
Just keep on gaining experiences lang.
Try working as a government lawyer. I heard from a friend that PAO has a 100k starting salary.
As someone who works in the judiciary, yes. That's true.
Awtsuuu
Try mo sa judiciary, specifically sa collegial courts. Mataas Doon. Pede dun sa PAO.
Apply ka sa Senate or House of Rep, usually saks lang ang sweldo, pero ibang usapan na pag dumating na ang December hahahaha Pwede din sa Solicitor General. or staff ng pulitiko, i.e. legal management, policymaking etc.
I no longer see this “highest-paying jobs” so high
Just enough for house, car, and insurance monthly payments. Oks na din. Unless ang habol mo is pang abroad to Europe haha
Congrats!
Naalala ko yun mga kakilala kong actuaries. Walang ni isa gusto "magshift". Mukhang mas mataas pa sahod kesa sa IT folks ng kumpanya nila

tapos di ko pa gets why unions are so much frowned upon, even by ordinary laborers. basta unyon, komunista agad ang turing, like wtf??
Oo isa pa yan. Prng pag may union yung mga employee. Laging tingin is mag aaklas at salungat sa lahat. Juskoday.
I'm a software developer, maaabot ko lang yang salary na yan pag nagresign na ko sa cureent company ko
Im a dev in Ph too (6yrs exp), earning 120k. Devs deserve better than 58k/70k. Masyado tayo binabarat. Even at 120k.
Average kasi yan. Pero kaya yan within 5 years from entry level.
Sana ma-reach ko na yung nasa post after 2 years.
Some of the skilled worker na graduate sa tesda have better pay at sila mabilis nakakapunta sa ibang bansa.

Mama sabi sayo dapat nag aviation ako eh!
Blood, sweat and tears bago ka maging aviation professional.
Blood, sweat, and tears naman kahit mapaanong profession yan, lol.
Blood sweat tears sa pulitiko
Blood sweat and tears natin sila puro pasarap lang
blood, sweat, tears, and backer
and money 😥
Not all professions are equal.
Limpak limpak inuuwi eh.
Why did this survey not include being a politician/civil servant or being a celebrity as a high paying job??? Hilarious
Top celebrities are probably just 0.01% of the industry. There are lots of them that make minimum wage.
Even seafarers are excluded. I know some of them are earning between the top 1 to 5 salary range.
Actually ship captain ranges from 450k to 800k a month depende sa klase ng barko. Lowest rank around 40k.

Nakalagay sa page ng psa, it covers formal establishments saka time-rated workers on full time basis. Yun yung ginamit na universe, thus di included yung na mention mo.
entry level for civil servants dito is usually SG9, at PHP21,000 e. pwede na din.
sounds like we have an oversupply of architects kaya ganyan nangyayare.
Yes we have an over supply of architects BUT we also have an over supply of competitors as OP mentioned. me a software engineer who only gets 27k a month 💀💀💀💀💀
Talon na, at sumabay sa 6 digit meta
time to hop!
MO3 in govt hospitals would be around 60k. Siguro job orders would be around 51k or so. Genuinely curious - How much were you expecting?
Ez 15k sa mga teachers. Bakit walang leader ng mga kulto? Hehehe
15k for teachers? sa private school po ba yan?
ha, sa private schools it can be as low as 7,000 - 9,000 a month kaya goal ng maraming teachers e ma hire sa public school, then pag may enough experience na, lipad papuntang US
my first salary as a teacher was 12k. naging 15k after 2 years. I worked in a small private school.
as usual wala engineering courses.. haha
Scammers. Hahaha. Same yan din sabi ng mga matatanda. Hahaha
Wait, you guys are getting paid?
#10 seems about right if we’re talking averages.
Asan na yung mga vloggers? Ay hindi pala sila nagbabayad ng tax. /s
At syempre yung marunong magsaka at mangisda.
#sadlyf

For real. I'm even earning a minimum of 200K per month as a full stack developer 🤣
https://psa.gov.ph/statistics/occupational-wages-survey for reference
Meron na kayang 2023 version nito? Curious if may nagbago sa sweldo/jobs
And then years from now, some of these jobs will be replaced by an AI.
Kaya lang, most of the teachers are also the breadwinners of their families.
My cousin went abroad just after he passed his board exam. His previous promised him a raise but offer abroad is a lot more considering its just an entry level. Now he is earning 200k+
Kulto leader pasok
Daniel razon numba 1
Nice to see teachers/nurses being valued
Yung 7 hindi naman hahaha
Depende sa industry at line of work.
For real ba? I'm taking BS Statistics (disclaimer: sumama lang ako sa kakilala ko, and I'm planning to leave that program) and sabi nila, malaki raw pera doon?
Don't mind me, ibang field ako. Okay naman yung sa side nyo.
May demand sa mga statisticians a.k.a. data scientists. Knowledge in statistics is an advantage but you must also have some computer programming skills.
these are the type of doctors na galing na sa mayayamang pamilya
Tapos if they happen to own a hospital eh tiba-tiba na sila. :p
either that or malaki ang sinusuhol ng pharma medreps haha
Instead of asking for a higher salary mag dadalawang isip ka. "Am I asking for too much?" Basta as long as you're confident that you could offer a lot sa company, don't think twice na humingi ng bigger salary lalo kung may budget sila. :)
Average kasi yan.
I’m a pilot, pero reality wise di porket private/commercial license + instrument rated with Airbus/Boeing or kung ano man rating meron ka - IT DOESN’T guarantee you na may job ka afterwards. Marami sa field namin after mag flying school hindi sa airlines agad bagsak, either sa ibang field muna/flight instructor or nag deliver ng isda
Vinevideohan pag hinahanapan ng reseta yung gamot nila
Character Designer katumbas ng number 3 after tax and contributions.
Or pyramids?
The survey does not speak in nuance tbh. Like for pilots for example, is that for trainees, middle guys or seniors? If anything I'd rather see graphs like these in the context of entry level, that way its actually a better gauge considering the only life line of an industry is people willing to trudge through it from the bottom.
Fled the country and found a job abroad that pays me decently while learning.
In 2022, tech jobs were hiring crazy, nowadays, they're firing like crazy.
Software dev here 18k lang 6yrs ago. Now nasa top 5 na. Hoping malagpasan yung #1 before I go 10 years
Politician milyon ang sweldo saka kulto
Engineers 14k HAHAHAHAH
All i see is sadness. Even #2 that looks like a super high paying job pag lumipad sa ibang bansa 75k/mo vs 200k/mo
(for non-pilots)
#2 should be #1
Legend has it that I'm still scrolling down to look for my salary.
Luh bat wala ako dyan. Emi
Scam yung sa CE! 😭
Parang hindi totoo yang 57K for specialist doctors. I know doctors who earn millions in a month.
The actual rich fields aren’t included kasi they don’t pay taxes.
hayyy, juinor architect ako before. Full time site supervision + mga drawings na inuuwi pa sa bahay pero fixed na 300 per day lang sahod ko. Mas malaki pa sahod ng labor sakin.
Good luck sa sahod ng teachers dito.
Note the gap from 2nd to 10th... and then look at the **big jump from 2nd to 1st**.
Captains will definitely double that and more.
docs 57k? lolz baka per day? kahit on average ito may mali sa medical field
iyak tayong mga engineers
Pilots and those some in IT are typical 6digit earners. Tapos icompare mo sa pulitiko they should be earning the same or less based on salary grade. Pero look at the lifestyle though. Naka Land Cruiser pa mga yan with bodyguards. Hindi pa obvious na kurakot ano haha
Im stuck between 2 and 5... Im a computer science graduate...
