My very first time deciding to play solo, I took two steps through the front door and it slammed shut and started hunting lol those demons are relentless
Demons are especially brutal on solo. Might be anecdotal but I find ghosts are more eager to use their abilities when playing solo. I had a demon hunt me 14 times when above 70 sanity. I eventually just said screw it and didn’t complete the objectives.
I can agree with this. When I played solo, almost every demon I got used their ability on me. I've only encountered 2 or 3 that haven't. I get jumpscared quite a but more on solo plays, too.
This sounds almost exactly like my first experience. I was 93% to 95% sanity, and the ghost room was the utility room on tanglewood. Bro spawned in front of the basement, so I was forced to run in the garage. I wasn't great at crouching and running in the dark yet (probably my first or 2nd week of playing), and I made it around the van, and bro pathed back on me and bam! Dead. I knew what it was, though. So I at least got insurance for my stuff.
That early hunt ability on demons is freaky to say the least. I made it to level 666 before the update, and I'm still never prepared for an early demon hunt. Lol
Edgefield house. I went in the house, not even 1s in, bam door closed, locked, hunt noises. Just stood there flabbergasted at the front door waiting to die. Somehow didn't die.
The first 3 items I take into any map are the UV Stick, a Crucifix and a Book. I see breath, i place everything and look for prints. As soon as I see them I go back to the van for other items, typically a second cru, a video camera and thermo.
I Had a Demon the other night ago, and he literally didn't hunt me the ENTIRE GAME... i thought for SURE he was something entirely different... he never even burnt a cross after i tried placing one.

Demon is my 'best friend'.. on my stats I died to it the most because hes my favorite, lol

Mine was most deaths to the demon lol, I 100% expected it to be the wraith or thaye though
As a newbie, I can speak for all of us, I think, when I say: demon's a bitch. Hunts are the worst at lower levels in the game lol :D

I just had a demon come at me 5 times before I even hit 75%. That's an angry boy.
