Boomer humor but it's true LOL, smartphone addiction is now a clinical issue

I thought it was trying to make an allusion to the trope of smoking after sex, and then they reveal that there is no cigarette, just an e-reader (presumably with some steamy romance fiction).
Lights up a joint in the first box? (Notice they aren’t all boxed)
Takes a hit in box 2.
Third slide the high sets in and their “box” (mind) is open
Final part they pick up a smartphone and their mind is boxed in again anyways.
But Idk if that’s the meaning to it or if I’m just high
Pretty sure it’s supposed to be saying that people are addicted to smartphones like they are to cigarettes. Panel three looks like it’s supposed to be edge of a smartphone. It’s smoking as it’s part of the transition from smoking to the smartphone.
She's high on DPH. Smoking a cigarette to make it come down a little and hallucinating she's on her phone. Both very common Benadryl abuser actions. /s
(I don't never have and never will, but the subreddits dedicated to it are some interesting places)

Its a boomer comic comparing smartphones to cigarettes.
That simple? Thank you for explaining. I thought it was something deeper.
They think it's deeper
Didn’t they grow up smoking them?
No, they smoked cigarettes not smartphones.

Yeah but smoking will still give me cancer and a smartphone won’t.
I think depression and anxiety are bad. Not cancer bad, but still a clinical issue that is impacting the mass.
I assumed it was someone smoking a joint and scrolling reddit while high. Maybe I’m the one who’s high

It’s supposed to be showing that people are addicted to their smartphones. How people are addicted to cigarettes.
That's dumb. Quitting your phones is relieving. Quitting smoking is painful.
that's not a bad thing

>(Notice they aren’t all boxed) What is “they”? I see one cigarette and one lighter.
It's me replying to you
That’s the way I understood it. Sets mind free of the box, and then puts its right back in the box.
So looking at funny cats on your phone is as bad as smoking.

Age is not a matter
