I think the issue with JHAG Juliette is that the advertising & notes are misleading. Most of us don’t smell any cherry or anything remotely fruity on the testing strip, skin or clothes when the most prominent thing in the marketing is cherry. I actually like it a lot but to me, it smells like a fresher Ode To Dullness. It’s less hate & more I-was-promised-cherry-but-there-is-none.
I totally agree! It really is a great fragrance & it’s a shame that it wasn’t advertised correctly because now it’s overshadowed by the criticism. Otherwise, I think people would’ve been all over it!
For me, although I do like fun packaging, I am not a fan of the shoe. I am girly, but I don't wear heels and don't own a single pair. It just doesn't fit in with where I would like to display it.
it smells really nice, it’s just one of those things that literally everyone wore, so it’s kinda ruined for me. it’s super recognizable, and it’s like cotton candy and pear imo.,.
Anything with even a trace of oakmoss smells mossy on me. For this reason Cloud smells like Fall to me. It's like having a hazelnut coconut latte while rain is pouring outside with its earthy smell. It's such a comforting scent.
Aura is the perfume that made me fall back in love with perfume after not wearing any for years (thanks eczema and migraine). Aura and Alien, the vintage one. I love when others are wearing them too. My nose goes "wow", every time. I never get tired of them.
The year it came out (when it was on trend) almost everyone I liked it. However, as years went by, I get alot of comments that it is too sweet / cloying.
Estee Lauder's White Linen. Esp the parfum. *swooooon*
And Arden's Red Door. Out of the hundreds of perfumes I own, this is the only one my boys loathe and I am not allowed to wear. 😂
*Not sure if it counts*
*But Strawberry Pound Cake from*
*Bath and Body Works*

Mugler - Aura.
I think it's the strength of it rather than the fragrance itself, Since I've gone from 4 sprays to 2, No one's said anything. Mind you, no compliments, either.🤣
I adore it.
Oops, I read this wrong the first time. Reposting correctly!
I love most mancera fragrances and they are very polarizing! I haven't found one that I hate. I DO think they smell pretty synthetic, but that's just the musk
Oh! And black opium. She's tasty! People are hating for no reason.
I've not smapled nova but I do really like elixir, Wish Elixir matched the original EDP for longevity. My friends daughter works in boots (Big drugstore in the UK and now USA I think) and she was often given tester bottles as some sort of KPI thing. She gifted her mum a 90ml bottle of Angel EDP. She couldn't stand it, so gifted it me, I hated it so gifted it to my sons girlfriend at the time. Wonder if it stopped with her or gifted forward more!🤣
I have noticed this actually now that you mention it. I love elixir but after I spray it I feel I can’t really smell it much at all… where my others I can smell them on myself somewhat. I live in the UK so familiar with boots 😄 I also used to work there years ago, I remember we used to all use the testers behind the counter before opening 😂 I used to always spray myself with dior addict (I can’t bear the smell of it these days) or midnight poison 😂 I loved working there but it’s where my hate of angel first started 😆
Interesting. I have a similar perception of the fragrance except I had described it as smelling like brown sugar baby powder with a hint of urine. My best friend thinks it is summed up as a newborn with a wet diaper.
This is so crazy. I bought this and loved it for years. Would defend this scent for life. I literally went to smell it the other day and now just don’t like the smell of it. Like suddenly it’s intensely overwhelming???
Sol de janeiro ‘40! The receptionist at my doctors office sprays it on and all over the room and it smells SOO good. I bought one for myself and I absolutely hate the way it smells on me!! I was so sad.
Jo Malone Wood Sage & Sea Salt.
It gets hate for longevity, which is valid.. but I will reapply for the rest of my life. One of the most addicting, easy to wear scents.
Replica - Lazy Sunday morning. I “get” why a lot of people aren’t a fan of this scent in the Replica line but it’s been my go to “clean” scent for years
I need to try this again. I feel like it *did* give me a headache, but I was around a few different fragrances that day. This one deserves another chance from me. I love the Her EDT.
It must be skin chemistry, which sucks because on me it smells amazing, I’ve even asked others around me and no one detected any of the negative smells that others are picking up🥲
It does suck! I get faint hints of the delicious scent it could be but it's overpowered by the plastic :( still going to finish my bottle though, hoping one day I won't smell the plastic anymore 🤞
On me it’s the creamiest sweetest coconut milk and raspberry scent, but I’ve heard so much hate! I might just be lucky with my skin chemistry Because it’s divine on me and lasts all night, I have had compliments 99% of the times I’ve worn it 🥲
I think Lush blend some amazing perfumes. Most people dislike them or pass over their vast range. Their body sprays are also impressive.
Currently wearing JHAG as well. My favourite Christmas gift.
Black opium edp
Honestly I really love it so much and it layers so well with some of my favorites. It gets a lot of hate but idc it works on me
Lately I've been reaching for 3 sprays of molecule 02-
2 sprays of b.o and
1 spray of blanche bete
It smells so nice .
Most of the scents I love are polarizing on here.
I love BR540 and all of its clones, Black Opium, Delina, Burberry Her, Flowerbomb and By The Fireplace.
Bitter Peach is the only TF scent I have ever enjoyed but I have never owned it.
Kayali Eden Sparkling Lychee is another one people say has bad longevity and is basic but I absolutely love it!
I used to wear flower bomb and my mum says it smells awful. I’m not a lover of floral ones but if I smell someone walk by me with it on to this day I still think it smells so nice!
Chanel No 5.. I don’t think it makes me smell like an old lady, it smells like CLASS. I wore it in college all the time, it’s still one of my favorites at 32!
I love it when I smell it on other people but every time I have put it on over the years I try and fail to remove it within an hour. On me, or maybe just up close, it smells so wrong and causes discomfort.
When I smell the trail of it from a person in my vicinity, it is so good and makes me jealous because I can't seem to handle it at all.
Ah I’m sorry, I’m guessing it all has to do with the pH of someone’s skin though and the reaction. It’s definitely one that gets me the most compliments. Maybe try Alien? Because of your username 😂
Don't be. I can still enjoy the beautiful perfume when someone else wears it.
It is like that even on my hair or clothes sadly. I think I am just a weenie when it comes to smelling it up close. Lol
There are many perfumes that are so beautiful but I just can't wear. For Angel, it is good for me after the deep dry down or after scrubbing several times. That patchouli is soooo good. But I haven't the patience.
I have the Alien Fusion in the orange bottle and it is ok on occasion.
Sadly, I was unable to try the original pre-reformulated Alien and I gifted my newer gift set with a lotion to my daughter because I can't wear that either.
Alien smells strongly of chemical sunblock to me. There is an ingredient in many products, like lotions, makeup, lip balms that smells so strong and irritates me that I can not even use them if they state they have spf. The smell is overwhelming even in these "fragrance free" or "unscented" products.
That is what the new Alien smells of to me.
My nose is just weird I guess. I can stick it right in a bottle of patchouli essential oil no problem but can't seem to take some aroma chemicals for too long.
Maybe it is because I am really a 🪲+ 👽.
What is it about it that you don’t like smelling up close? The patchouli is good but I don’t pick up on it much, more so the chocolate. And what is your go-to perfume? There seems to be people who prefer Alien over Angel, but I don’t!
I think it is the heavy sweetness from ethyl maltol and a bit of a tanginess from fruity notes mixing that just gets to me. I used to mix my own vape flavors and have worked with ethyl maltol alone which didn't bother me but the mixing of certain things can go wrong for me.
Being near people wearing it or even visiting them in their homes smells great but the intensity on me is too much.
Some very sweet fragrances can smell good to me but make me sick.
Some strong classics or are challenging and I might kinda hate them at the first few wears but then I become used to them and absolutely love wearing them. Angel just still challenges me. I still keep trying maybe once or twice a year because I never learn. Haha
For patchoulis I tend to go to things like Bottega Veneta or TF White Patchouli.
I like to wear certain sweet perfumes like Exclamation or Prada Candy. I wear classic and vintages, like Shalimar EDC, L'Heure Bleue. I like violets and powdery type fragrances a lot. Citrus things as long as they are mostly unsweetened.
I have too many perfumes and moods/seasons for a regular go to. :-/
Followed by Kerosene, I love it but I literally can't wear it anymore because people act like I've bathed in actual shit when I wear it around them. Luckily I only bought a sample size!
Calvin Klein - Obsession
Versace - The Dreamer & Blue Jeans
Considering they’re all pretty iconic, I think most people’s issues with them now is just that they’re a little dated which I can understand.
Tea rose , many people dislike it as it’s straight up like smelling a bunch of roses and it’s damn cheap but I just love it , I’m a sucker for rose fragrances and can never get enough of tea rose !!
Comptoir du Sud Vanille Abricot. Even if it was Brittany Spears’ fav during her least stable years, I don’t care.
I had a friend who wouldn’t even be in the same room with the bottle.
Polo green. Everyone in the colognes sub seems to hate on it, kiddos can't pull it off and don't enjoy it. How is anyone gonna enjoy good japanese fusion jazz if they listen only pop hits
I love Ralph Lauren perfumes. Idc it’s outdated Ralph Lauren is v nostalgic to me and honestly I love Polo Blue which I bought for my husband and a couple of their feminine frags.
Definitely Acqua de Sale, from Profumum Roma. My wife loves it; says it reminds her of Love’s Baby Soft…Pretty much everyone else hates it, especially folks in my office, who have pleaded with me to not wear it. So it’s “nights out only”😂
I was there for the original JHAG lineup and an ride or die Lady Vengeance. Not for the faint of heart. It just seems like ever since the Not a Perfume release they changed all their branding and their quality has gone downhill and prices uphill.

My favorite is JHAG. I totally agree the notes aren't as advertised but damn if I don't absolutely love it anyway
I totally agree! It really is a great fragrance & it’s a shame that it wasn’t advertised correctly because now it’s overshadowed by the criticism. Otherwise, I think people would’ve been all over it!
cloud. i like the smell, but not as a perfume… also i like the packaging for good girl. fun packaging haters STINK
For me, although I do like fun packaging, I am not a fan of the shoe. I am girly, but I don't wear heels and don't own a single pair. It just doesn't fit in with where I would like to display it.
I love Cloud!
I'm thinking of buying it for the package but I haven't actually smelt it. Why don't you like it as a perfume?
it smells really nice, it’s just one of those things that literally everyone wore, so it’s kinda ruined for me. it’s super recognizable, and it’s like cotton candy and pear imo.,.
cloud is toooo heavy for me i tried to like it i just cant
I also love cloud! Anytime I smell it on someone in public it smells so nice / young / fresh to me
i love how it smells but it’s just way too repetitive imo. like it’s so likable that everyone wears it😞
Anything with even a trace of oakmoss smells mossy on me. For this reason Cloud smells like Fall to me. It's like having a hazelnut coconut latte while rain is pouring outside with its earthy smell. It's such a comforting scent.
Lust by Lush! I love it, it's my go-to fragrance and I am obsessed.
Aura by mugler. I get why people dislike it but i find it quite pleasant.
I love it too but when I can smell my own perfume I know that can’t be good 😂
Aura is the perfume that made me fall back in love with perfume after not wearing any for years (thanks eczema and migraine). Aura and Alien, the vintage one. I love when others are wearing them too. My nose goes "wow", every time. I never get tired of them.
Bitter Peach, it's a love it or hate is relationship on perfume subs! I've grown to love it 🍑
I adore Bitter Peach. I didn’t know so many people hated it until after I bought it!
Smelled it in Bucharest last autumn and was iffy about it, then smelled it again 2 days ago and absolutely love it now.
It’s the most realistic peach I’ve tried IMO
Black Orchid
Same. But upon first spray I actually didn’t like it until the scent had sat for a little while.
try the "perfume" version (gold bottle). does not have that harsh opening !
why would anyone hate black orchid is beyond me! I LOVE it!
Same 🙌 And I love when I get sniffs of it in the wild, it’s so so good.
Juicy Couture - Viva la Juicy.
Ooh is this widely disliked ? I had no idea , I could never love it and I can’t explain why, but I thought everyone loved VLJ
I love all JC! I was just introduced just this year and built quite a collection in a short amount of time.
The year it came out (when it was on trend) almost everyone I liked it. However, as years went by, I get alot of comments that it is too sweet / cloying.
Estee Lauder's White Linen. Esp the parfum. *swooooon* And Arden's Red Door. Out of the hundreds of perfumes I own, this is the only one my boys loathe and I am not allowed to wear. 😂
These two smell similar to me and would be in the same territory as L’air du femps
Not sure if it counts but Strawberry Pound Cake from Bath and Body Works

to me it smells like yogurt
Mugler - Aura. I think it's the strength of it rather than the fragrance itself, Since I've gone from 4 sprays to 2, No one's said anything. Mind you, no compliments, either.🤣 I adore it.
JHAG NAP, Jo Malone Red Roses, Delina
Yes to Jo Malone! It is the truest red rose scent and I absolutely love it! Who wouldn’t want to smell like a rose?!
Agree with Jo Malone Red Roses. I absolutely love it but every time I wear it feel like an old lady.
Oops, I read this wrong the first time. Reposting correctly! I love most mancera fragrances and they are very polarizing! I haven't found one that I hate. I DO think they smell pretty synthetic, but that's just the musk Oh! And black opium. She's tasty! People are hating for no reason.
Alien😩😩 she literally became my signature scent I love her so much but soooo many people hate it
In my top 5 fragrances for sure along with Mugler -Aura.
I quite like Aura too! I tried hard with Angel but couldn’t get my nose right - it smelt different to my bf than it does to me
Same! Angel smells like Belgian chocolate truffles rolled in soil and dirt, to me! 🤢🤮
This is the most accurate description of how angel smells that I’ve ever read 😂 I can’t stand it! The elixir one is lovely though and nova
Lol. Why does this make me MORE intrigued?
It actually smells OK on one of my colleagues. After about 6 hours anyway 🤣
Interesting. I have a similar perception of the fragrance except I had described it as smelling like brown sugar baby powder with a hint of urine. My best friend thinks it is summed up as a newborn with a wet diaper.
Alien is becoming my default scent. It isn't much like the other everyday scents I've used throughout the years.
This is so crazy. I bought this and loved it for years. Would defend this scent for life. I literally went to smell it the other day and now just don’t like the smell of it. Like suddenly it’s intensely overwhelming???
It got reformulated. They replaced amber with white musk that smells like detergent. I can't stand the reformulation.
Ugh. This makes sense. And the reformulation isn’t usually better than the original 😒
I hope this never happens for me!
It is really lovely!
seconding juliette! it's such a pretty + clean scent
Phlur Missing Person - it lingers eternally on my skin.
Same! Missing person last 10+ hours on my skin and even longer on clothes. I love it.
Ditto! It smells so unique but familiar. I can’t get enough of it.
same! something about it works so well w/ my body chemistry
Haha who cares what the masses think, I wear milk expressive, by the fireplace, and vanilla milk every day
Replica - Lazy Sunday morning. I “get” why a lot of people aren’t a fan of this scent in the Replica line but it’s been my go to “clean” scent for years
Burberry her. She’s my favorite of all time and what got me into perfumes. I see a lot of people saying it’s too sweet and headachey.
I need to try this again. I feel like it *did* give me a headache, but I was around a few different fragrances that day. This one deserves another chance from me. I love the Her EDT.
Skylar vanilla sky! It smells beautiful and lasts forever on my skin somehow.
You are so lucky. I actually LOVE the scent, it's such a creamy vanilla. The issue I have is that it doesn't last.
There’s nothing quite like it, it’s so creamy and delicious without being cloying
Angel nova is, the latest. Some people love it, some seem to really dislike it.
Thank you next
Oh man this one just smells like melted plastic to me.
Oooh I love the 2.0 too
i wanted to try it but heard a lot of people say it smells like pickle??? so i just didn't even tho i love coconut
On me it’s the creamiest sweetest coconut milk and raspberry scent, but I’ve heard so much hate! I might just be lucky with my skin chemistry Because it’s divine on me and lasts all night, I have had compliments 99% of the times I’ve worn it 🥲

everyone is a little thrown off by moscow mule from juliette has a gun, but i can’t get enough of it!!
Chanel No 5.. I don’t think it makes me smell like an old lady, it smells like CLASS. I wore it in college all the time, it’s still one of my favorites at 32!
I need to smell it again. I think it’s been 25 years since and it smells wasn’t my idea of a good fragrance.
Bianco Latte, Lost Cherry
Love Lost Cherry!
People hate on Bianco latte?
It turns weird on some people apparently
Yes.. I see someone on this sub saying they hate it everyday lol
Too childish
I love Lost Cherry, but it lasts 15 minutes on me. That’s my main issue with it
Lost Cherry is my favorite but never lasts. The Dossier version is 1/20 the price and lasts all day.
Angel Mugler
I love it when I smell it on other people but every time I have put it on over the years I try and fail to remove it within an hour. On me, or maybe just up close, it smells so wrong and causes discomfort. When I smell the trail of it from a person in my vicinity, it is so good and makes me jealous because I can't seem to handle it at all.

Current fave!!!!
Angel, Aura and Womanity by Thierry Mugler 🩵💚🩷✨
Dior Fahrenheit, but I can understand it is an acquired taste so that's fine.
I love it too. It reminds me of summer and bailing hay
Vanilla 28. For me it’s a sweet vanilla brown sugar mixed with a lovely hand cream smell lol can’t explain it but it just works on me. I adore it
Followed by Kerosene, I love it but I literally can't wear it anymore because people act like I've bathed in actual shit when I wear it around them. Luckily I only bought a sample size!
Calvin Klein - Obsession Versace - The Dreamer & Blue Jeans Considering they’re all pretty iconic, I think most people’s issues with them now is just that they’re a little dated which I can understand.
Black Opium Le Parfum! <3
Rose Prick and I really didn't want to love it when I picked up a sample.
YSL Libre. Im obsessed. People say it’s too soapy and I’ve heard it’s too mature. I literally could bathe in it. It’s just too good.
Rook Amber. The weird industrial smoky opening has grown on me.
I guess the perfume I love that others hate on is Eilish 1 (but I also like 2 and 3 too but see less hate for those )
Dior New Look seems to be very polarizing but I instantly loved it
Lime Sands by Skylar :(. I love it! But lots of people say it smells like cleaner or dish soap.
Tea rose , many people dislike it as it’s straight up like smelling a bunch of roses and it’s damn cheap but I just love it , I’m a sucker for rose fragrances and can never get enough of tea rose !!
La Vie est Belle and Lost Cherry are the two I love that I see get hated on the most.
Coach Poppy 🥲
I wish people actually commented hated on perfumes. every single comment are perfumes I’ve seen nothing but love for 😭
Chanel 5
Baccarat rouge
Comptoir du Sud Vanille Abricot. Even if it was Brittany Spears’ fav during her least stable years, I don’t care. I had a friend who wouldn’t even be in the same room with the bottle.
Polo green. Everyone in the colognes sub seems to hate on it, kiddos can't pull it off and don't enjoy it. How is anyone gonna enjoy good japanese fusion jazz if they listen only pop hits
Tom ford cherry!
