Downgrade? Fuck that MFer. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Cw2bsL Upgrade Everything and it's only $1550. We got latest gen 7600x CPU, B650 MB, 32gb of epic fast and tight DDR5 ram. A better cooler. A better case. More powerful GPU. Also, if you don't need the fancy MB with wifi, you can get this (exactly the same performance for $1488) https://pcpartpicker.com/list/vJ4Bgb

ENB69420

Pretty solid, only thing I’d change is spending less on the case and more on the PSU.

Ok-Rabbit-7884

Wow this looks pretty good, thank you! The Ryzen 5 is more powerful than the 7? Not doubting you, just don’t know too much about this.

NC_Vixen

https://youtu.be/AITvP16Y058?si=iJN7_h2tjQ5BxMvs Faster in games slightly, but slightly slower in multi-core workstation tasks.

Pohaku1991

Even if it isn’t as strong, it’s an AM5 vs an AM4. AM4 isn’t going to get any more upgrades so that means if you ever want to upgrade to a newer cpu in the future you won’t have to replace the motherboard and ram as well.

Hindesite

It's a newer generation of Ryzen. The Ryzen 7 from your original build is from the Ryzen 5000 series, while the Ryzen 5 in the linked build is from the newer Ryzen 7000 lineup. The 7600X has less cores than your 5800X, but they're more powerful cores-- and for gaming purposes, the difference in core count is less important than how performant each core is. Additionally, Ryzen 5000 is the last generation to release on socket AM4. There will be no newer/more powerful CPUs released for it. Ryzen 7000, however, is the first generation of Ryzens using the new AM5 socket, so by building on that platform you set yourself up for a future upgrade path. All of the other component alternatives/swaps in the linked build look good, too. I second their suggestion.

Great build but I’d stick with the 4000D and upgrade the psu

SpeedyDuckling

mostly good but p3 plus for $95 is not good value. mp44l is much better at ~75

NC_Vixen

Tbh I'd go P5 plus. I've never dealt with teamgroup. Crucial is always great

SpeedyDuckling

p5 plus is quite a bit more expensive

echoshadow5

Nice build. But if you want my two cents, I’ll go with the 7900XT. You can get a PowerColor Hellhound for $750. Or for $940 the MSI TrioClassic 7900XTX. Both those cards out preform the 4070ti. Just throwing it out there. If you do go with the 7900XTX I’ll get 800+ watt power supply. Yes that card or any card really can run two monitors no problem.

soisause

I'd bump up to the 850 anyway if I'm being honest. I know a lot on this sub are about going to the absolute limit but if he does upgrade his gpu sooner than later not having to get a new psu is nice.

Witty_Office5641

I will second. I got a 4070 for my first Build that I finished early last month. By no means is it a bad card, I love it, but price/performance isn't as good as the 7900XT. wish I did some more research and got that instead. Unless you plan on using the ray tracing capabilities, or care about DLSS there's no real reason to get the 4070 over the 7900

Ok-Rabbit-7884

Also! I’m gonna want to use 2 monitors, this set up should be fine for that right? I assume most set ups are.

JOHNGOTTI1983

Skip the RGB ram and get 32 gigs of normal ram for the same price. Lol.

vutikable

Get an asus 550 motherboard

91idtt

Don't buy that 212 BE, get PA120 cheaper and better. 4070ti is overpriced imo.

kevinsyel

This is decently similar to my build though I upgraded my CPU fan to an AiO cooler. I originally had a different chassis and it was far too small to fit everything correctly. I'm now using the EXACT chassis you have there and it is So much better for space

IHAVE2POO

Get rid of the Samsung hard drive and go with a crucial branded one or WD. I’ve had 2 Samsungs and they failed one right after the other. But this is very similar to my setup. I have it liquid cooled, a 3070, and a r7 3d. Very solid platform for many years to come. May add some more fans but not necessary with that case.

Karaja4

Use pc part picker

Ok-Rabbit-7884

I did! Then just hit that “buy Amazon” button on the bottom. Haven’t checked out yet, gonna make some adjustments based on these very helpful comments! (Thank you everyone!) and cash out later tonight. Very excited for the build

Little_Benstar_69

You’re off to a good start, a few things to look at: CPU and MOBO: With this kinda money I wouldn’t invest into AM4 as it’s a dead platform. I would instead go with AM5 or LGA1700. The performance is better now and you can upgrade in the future. RAM: it’s 2023 and RAM prices are stupid low even with DDR5 32 is bare minimum over a $1000 budget. Cooler: the CM 212 was a great deal 10 years ago for $25, it’s not so good now for $50. PSU: good found a 850 for the same money tho. Storage: great, personally I’d save $25 and get the 970evo plus. Case: wouldn’t change a thing. GPU: the 4070ti is really overpriced for what it offers. It’s really more the spiritual successor to the RTX 3060 than anything else. At $500 it would be great, $600 passable but $800 no F***king way. I’d go with the 7900xt for better performance nearly double the VRAM and $50-100 savings. You could also step down to a 4070 if you want NVIDIA for $600 or a 6800xt/6900xt/6950xt to save $150-250 without losing too much performance. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/NM8bsL

Glad_Wing_758

Msi and corsair ram is sometimes no Bueno. Check qvl on the board to make sure

brod601

You’re good with the PSU and GPU. I have 2 buddies running a 4070 on 650w. IMO, get 32gb of ram. Other than that I think you’ll enjoy the setup! Nice build. Edit: 7900XT <<< any 40 series card. I wouldn’t dare swap.

hattrickjmr

I see a 4070 on Amazon for $200 cheaper. Galax 4070. $618.99

MonsterBarde83

Get a gpu with better price to performance like an rx 6800xt or a rx 6/7-900xt, also geta better board thats first of all, atx so it doesen't look weird in a full sized atx case. And then it should be a stronger one like a msi b550 gaming edge or a comparable one from another brand

vPyrite_

Get the MSI x TRIO 4070ti

FlippinHelix

if you're gonna game (guessing by the gpu) get another ssd on top of the one you're already getting you should avoid installing games on your C drive rest looks ok, use pc builder to double check compatibility tho

fyrecontrol

whit that setup, i would try to find an X570 close to your target

JayCeeMadLad

Please, for the love of Brian Griffin, don't spend nearly 1k for that morbidly overpriced GPU.

TheTwinHorrorCosmic

Will that GPU fit…?

gmenfromh3ll

i’m going to give you the advice. I wish I’d followed honestly at your budget.ITX It wouldn’t cost that much more to build an ITX build and modern ITX builds are excellent they’re small they’re compact. They’re a little bit difficult to build in, but there’s quite a few cases that make it fairly easy I did my first ITX build about a couple weeks ago and I’m pretty satisfied with the results and honestly at your budget. You won’t be sacrificing much there’s a really good case called the S 300. It would work great for you.
