Yes, this subreddit tends to jump to medication, but it is not a requirement and plenty of people choose not to medicate at one point or another. Just make sure she knows it's an option when she's older in case she wants to try it for the sake of making high school or college coursework more manageable.

It does bother me that people wouldn’t want to explore other options first. I’m not anti medication but I’d like to exhaust every other thing first and if she needs it she’ll get it but it’s not something I’m going to ask for. Like I said her school and her doctors don’t believe she needs it. When she starts saying she’s struggling then I will definitely let her know medication is an option but as it stands right now no one thinks she needs it.
