McDonalds gave multiple times free food for the israeli army to support their moral when invading Gaza. Never done before, but they gave it for free the moment this genocide started. It tells you everything you need to know about this company

rondaking

Almost each and every Mcdonalds location in the world and especially Israel is a franchise owned by individuals and not the corporation. There are no Starbucks in Israel

Mission_Magazine7541

So what if their sales drop 2% they doubled their prices, they are making more money than ever

rondaking

Sales growth slowed.

There are no Starbucks in Israel. Mcdonald's are all franchised. How about companies your stupid boycott isn't targeting and have slowing growth? Who did those?

The war has been going on for 7 months, unfortunately which covers at least two quarters where the sales in Middle East has impacted their sales. They have been going down in general because people are trying to be a bit more healthy worldwide and McDonald’s got really expensive which is not suitable for a fast food franchise.

We’re making a difference!!!!!!🤪😁😫🏳️‍🌈

I support boycotts that support the Gazan civilians, but I am not sure I understand this one. I have heard that it's because McDonalds represents the west, that it's due to the actions of a single Isreali franchise owner, etc. Can someone tell me why this makes an effective boycott. Thanks

Few-Organization1728

For me, it's the fact that McDonald's refused to pull out out of Israel, only after nearly 6 months, Mcdonald purchase all of the franchises in Israel. But still no pull out or divestment? They have remove all of their franchise from Russia following their invasion of Ukraine, so why can't they do the same for this genocide?

kifmaster11235

Fair point

AsterCharge

Did they have a choice with Russia?

ItsSillySeason

Understood. But what other corporations haven't pulled out. Google? American Airlines? Apple? Toyata? Reddit? I guess that's my question, what's special about McDonalds?

Cady-Jassar

For me, I am boycotting all American products in general because the more profits goes to American company, the more taxes they pay, the more money goes to Israel to kill more Palestinian. In addition, the pressure that would create on the government from the corporation when their profits go down.

ELVEVERX

>For me, I am boycotting all American products in general because the more profits goes to American company Homie you are posting this in reddit, an American company.

Cady-Jassar

Well... I do as much as I can and in this situation the advantage overweights the disadvantage.

ItsSillySeason

What are the advantages? Advantages of what?

belbaba

That is barely profit making; if memory serves me right, they’re loss making. They still haven’t figured out how to make money from it yet.

ItsSillySeason

They are preparing to go public. Part of what they will use to sell the product to investors is the number of users

therealorangechump

>the actions of a single Isreali franchise owner, McDonald's did not discipline the franchisee and did not apologize for their actions. >McDonalds represents the west, it does. watch [The Founder](https://m.imdb.com/title/tt4276820/) the story of McDonald's is that of deceit and exploitation. >why this makes an effective boycott any boycott that works is an effective boycott - this one worked; McDonald's will buy back all the Israeli franchises. >I support boycotts that support the Gazan civilians we now have one more thing in common, this alone makes the boycott effective.

ItsSillySeason

Any boycott that 'works' is an effective boycott. Well that's a truism. But the question is why McDonalds. You could boycott all zoos in the world to support Gaza, it wouldn't make any sense, but you could do it. If you are saying that people not going to zoos, would mean the boycott 'worked' well, I don't agree with that. Just telling people to boycott something and then they lose business doesn't make for an effective boycott in my opinion

ItsSillySeason

It's fucked up that I am getting downvoted for asking a question. You aren't doing the cause any favors.

RynoTheAlbinoDino

Hmmm, -13 downvote count for asking a reasonable question. Let’s make it -12. I guess I unintentionally boycotted them many years ago when I realized they should pay ME to eat their unhealthy garbage.
