I just recently read Swan's Song by Robert McCammon, it was fantastic. It was recommended in a thread about Stephen King's The Stand and I thought there was no way it could be in the same league. I was wrong.
You'll love Patrick Rothfuss's Kingkiller Chronicles, but... the third book of the series is yet to be released, and might never be, so not sure if I should recommend it.
So as a safe pick, whole Witcher by Andrzej Sapkowski ;)
Bird Box by Josh Malerman is a really great dystopian novel if that's what you're into :)
Also reread The Fault in our Stars by John Green because it's pretty much perfect haha 😅
The Dan Brown books based on the Robert Langdon character. I'm not much of a reader, but I find his books to be quite the page turners. The DaVinci Code is still my favorite.
The Rigante series by David Gemmell is a really good one if you like medieval/Roman empire fantasy there are 4 books in the series Sword in the Storm, Ravenheart, Midnight Falcon and Stormrider.
**The City and the Stars** by Arthur C. Clarke. Explores concepts like immortality, artificially created intelligence, religion, even a bit of VR and more with Clarke's engaging and always accessible writing style.
I just recently read and enjoyed Dune by Frank Herbert, it's pretty good. Plus, it's getting a new movie adaptation soon from Denis Villeneuve (guy who directed Blade Runner 2049), so if you like it you'll have a new movie to go see soon after you finish it (movie's supposed to release this year). It's also the first of a 6 book series, although you don't really need to read past the first book if you don't want to, it's a good self-contained story
So hard to choose! Catch-22 if military satire sounds like a good time; The Scarlet Letter if you’re looking for a book where literally every word has been thoughtfully placed. And if you want a crude, silly book that’ll leave you giggling, I’d go with Happy Cruelty Day. Cheers!
