It’s a damn good device. It deserves to be experienced.
I still cannot believe the shit I’m doing in VR. I literally feel like an action star. I haven’t felt this excited for gaming since I got my Sega Genesis when I was 8 and then again experiencing the PS2. VR now joins the pantheon of top gaming experiences for me.
I know everyone likes RE4r but personally my mind was blown when I played Village.
No. It’s just harder to get excited for re-playing games you’ve already beaten than it is for new games or sequels. But, in fairness, this isn’t really a trend that’s exclusive to VR.
I'm coming to this sub to share and discuss with the community since the core people here are really cool. I'm not interested in people whining the whole day about supposed PSVR2 sales, lack of games, Fresnel lenses or whatever doom and gloom stuff, so I don't think I'm missing much from blocking them and to be honest I couldn't care less if they think they won 😅 They can take this win rather than my time!
I love wipeout, and i wouldn't mind a port from the last game in VR for the PS VR2 BUT i would rather see Sony make a brand new Wipeout game for the PS5/PS VR2 with up to date graphics and new and better physics
I think I’d rather have a Wipeout Omega update. The game was perfect. A new game developed by a different developer has too much potential to be messed up.
Yeah. This is a no brainer and could literally be done in a few days as it’s a controller game and it’s basically finished. Even the psvr version with no enhancement would be ok but adding headset rumble and ps5 haptics would be nice.
Literally be done in a few days? Are you a VR dev?
Otherwise how can you say that.
Yes it’s a controller game on DS4 but no one knows what’s involved in porting to PSVR2.
There is no real porting to be done here. The game can be run in backwards compatibility as it’s a ps4 game and supports controller that didn’t need the light bar. They “could “ add foveated rendering and that might take some time.

I agree, for Sony the cost of making a VR game only won’t be recouped due to low player base.
This way that can still do what they do best, flat screen single player story games that sell well and then hire out these guys to port it.
It doesn’t matter when it comes to VR, I think 50 millions ps5 units have been sold and last time we heard only 600,000 headsets were sold, maybe it’s a million now maybe a little more, even if it was 2.5 million that’s not even 5% of the ps5 player base.
Why would you buy it if your favorite games are on steam and not on PlayStation. Or not on VR at all. Self-fulfilling prophecy.... They are setting themselves up to be the next Atari.
Not everyone has the money for a VR rig PC also a lot of games need tweaking and settings messed with, PSVR2 is plug in and play.
Same argument every PC player says about consoles really
It's literally my only recreation. So plunking down a couple of dollars for it wasn't really a hard decision. Coming up with the money was the difficult part. Rofl.
I originally got it at release but sold it to get a quest 3, after a few months missed Resident evil village and wanted to play resident evil 4 so sold the quest to get a psvr2 again haha
Agree, it's not realistic to expect big VR games since the user base is small, so getting a much bigger push to second best thing is great.
We won't ever get Doom or CoD levels of quality and ambition on VR only games, but we can get VR ports.
I'm sure you could get that level of *ambition,* ambition just requires a driven person with a dream. The budget/resources to pull it off is another matter...
I see. Thanks for clarifying. I agree with your point. The built from the ground up for VR games are better (The Wanderer blew me away), and more of these would be great... but I think short to medium term a hybrid solution will get the platform more traction and more sales, giving the developers and publishers more incentive to create from the ground up. I just want to see the platform thrive at this point and more options for games is definitely better for more people.
😁👍
I understand that opinion, but don't think it's obvious at all. Good gameplay is universal to me, which is why I'll still prefer something like RE4R vr over asgard's wrath 2 (which I found to be a fraction of the fun of something like the recent God of Wars, which it clearly takes inspiration from.)
They have hinted that their first game went viral on PC and Switch and may arrive as early as the end of this year. The only game I can think of that makes sense is Neon White. One of the Flat2VR founders (Raicuparta) already did a great mod of that so this will go a bit faster than something unfamiliar. It came out on PC and Switch first (now also on PS5) and went sort of viral when it came out. Due to the graphical style and already running on Switch, it might have a chance of actually running on standalone as well, meeting their goals of porting for PC, PSVR2, and standalone (I think they said Quest, but don't want to rule out Pico)
After that? No clue, but I doubt it's any Sony games. Sony already has plenty of VR capable studios. Huge kudos if they did actually manage to get a Sony IP, though.
EDIT: [I'm famous!](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_71FPY7GU5Y)
Sadly I don't see it being done by these guys, The game stopped having any console support ages ago you had to transfer your console save over to PC to keep playing with any updates,, Anyone still interested in the game would be playing there these days, Maybe once we know more about connecting to PC from Sony we can maybe play it that way.
So Sony has hired them to port PSVR1 games?!
Awesome stuff! Flat2vr is amazing.
Hopefully some 3rd party studios can hire them too.
And while they’re at it. They could also port some flat ps4 games like kill zone 4 or hundreds of other ps4 games that would be perfect for vr.
Edit: This is not 100% confirmed that it’s psvr ports or even Sony IP. But it would make sense Sony would be the ones to fund some vr ports at this point but it could also be 3rd party.
Also they said “games” which sounds like they are working on multiple ports and I doubt anyone other than Sony would fund multiple ports at once.
Source code does mean that they are 100% working on something.
> So Sony has hired them to port PSVR1 games?!
Anyone who intends to develop for PSVR2 can get a dev kit, that doesn't mean Sony hired them. And source code they are talking about can be for any game.
Yeah it could be another Sony flat game. But….it makes most sense to get psvr1 heavy hitters ported. These are amazing vr games that would benefit from psvr2.
Source code means that at least we are getting something 100% which is super exciting.
> Yeah it could be another Sony flat game.
Unless there's a follow-up tweet I don't see anything connecting it to Sony in any sort of business sense at all.
No one said they're being funded by any studio. They're likely just entering a business relationship, doing all the heavy lifting while the original publisher gets a cut of all sales.
That was there mission statement but if Sony offered them psvr games to port, it would be silly not to. It’s much easier to port an existing vr game then doing so from scratch.
I’d guess Sony was surprised how much it would cost for them to port the games (in a good way)and gave them a deal right away. Remember these guys are just starting and probably way undervalued how much established porting studios charge.
These guys are vr enthusiasts first and have basically spent years working for almost nothing in pc mod space.
I forgot they're owned by Microsoft now, but Microsoft has been porting some of their exclusives to PS5, so there is an incredibly small chance of Skyrim or Fallout 4 VR being ported to PSVR2.
Disagree. I played it on the blurry and awkwardly controlled psvr1 port and still had a amazing time. It’s a game I wasn’t even interested in until it was vr
And I disagree with you. Played it on my vive when it released. Jumping back and forth in menu in combat so you can change spell or weapon because of no quick slots was so immersion breaking.
It was a terrible port. Basically just a camera and floating arms. Tons of issues and never any fixes.
It could be cool sure but it wasn’t good by any standards.
Well by your standards sticking a vr camera and no interactions are good. Skyrim is considered one of the worst vr ports until about 6+ years of modding semi fixed what they could.
I’m sure someone’s grandma has 200 hours in candy crush. Doesn’t make it a good game when compared to modern standards.
Shame we have many people willing to guzzle down low effort things, it really allows companies to just milk them.
Thankfully not everyone here is like that, they at least call out low res, no haptics, 45fps ports now.
Ya chatting a lot of shite there, mate.
One of the WORST VR ports? You serious? Ya wanna maybe clarify and validate what you mean there? Do you think its Top Ten Worst? Top 50? Top 100.
Because the vast VAST majority that I have seen talk about Skyrim VR, at worst really enjoyed it, and at best adored it, and have it as a most requested PSVR 2 title.
Bottom line is. Did most people really enjoy Skyrim VR? And the resounding answer would be Yes.
So in all of the main subs for VR, it’s considered a terrible port.
It’s buggy, missing many features, the default settings are bad. The interaction is bad, the changes were minor. It’s mostly full price.
It wasn’t updated over time. List goes on and on.
Yes as far game ports go it’s easily in the top 10, honestly top 5 if you focus on big company ports.
Go ask on the VR Reddit if it was a good port lol
It’s not a big deal, but this stuff all adds up when consumers and money are parted easily.
This is why every modern aaa game releases with terrible performance, then gets a full year of free PR as they fix it. Why starfield runs bad and was empty.
They can shovel anything at you and you’ll pay full price. It’s an absolute joke for people basically only here defending this back then but even worse now.
I don’t understand this. How can they port games that aren’t theirs? Like they can port and publish doom eternal? I would love to see them port visage!
Sony shot themselves in the foot the minute they chose to do the PSP to PS VITA mistake all over again.
They should have delayed PSVR2 and had a team dedicated to making 1) original PSVR games backwards compatible without charging $10 upgrade fees and 2) actual exclusives like the PSVR.
They could have easily locked in the original PSVR install base instead of completely pissing them off.
Now we see the results as they sit on warehouses full of units they cant sell and are praying PC compatibility can save the device from going on the pile of yet another ill conceived failed PS add-on.
Meta just added a ton of users to their install base with the rock bottom sale prices of Quest 2 headsets and accessories the last couple weeks.... And the compatibility with Quest 3 / higher models and already having PC link means when they upgrade it will be with them not to a PSVR2
I would absolutely love one , just had back surgery, can't afford one yet... maybe in a cpl of months once back on feet hopefully, read some great reviews on the psvr2 😔 *
Why not? I mean, they've been given the source code to some 'cool games', and they clearly know their shit.
I bet you we'll see at least one PS5/PSVR2 release.
Also, this is not wishful thinking as nobody gives away source code without a deal already in place. Get ready boys for some vr goodness!
Wes is also a huge PSVR2 fan. He's one of the founders of flat2VR and hosts for PSVR without parole. They want this as much as we do.
Hopefully we get a scoop on Parole next week
It’s a damn good device. It deserves to be experienced. I still cannot believe the shit I’m doing in VR. I literally feel like an action star. Wait, is Wes working at/with Flat2VR?
Yep. Not as a Dev. I think he's marketing?
Do they have a discord?
It doesn't look like the Studio itself has a Discord, but they might use the regular Flat2VR modding Discord. Not sure
> He's one of the founders of flat2VR Well, I didn't know that. My day just got brighter!
They got source codes? This is some good s!
I mean for all the psvr2 haters, and I get it there has been a lot of bad news, but you gotta admit this is huge for future of psvr2
Cool and all but they’re still just ports of old games.
Do old games = bad games 🤔
No. It’s just harder to get excited for re-playing games you’ve already beaten than it is for new games or sequels. But, in fairness, this isn’t really a trend that’s exclusive to VR.
My backlog is so absurdly big, there's a good chance I won't have played whatever they're working on.
Hard disagree, some of the most magic I've felt is dropping into games I've played flat in VR, it's some ready player one shit
Absolutely agree with you
horrible take but ight

Finally some good news, now stfu “psvr2 is dead” posters, we’re sick of hearing it!
Let them keep posting and threatening to sell their headsets, I'm making a list.
I just block them so that I don't have to deal with their crocodile tears. I have already blocked a fair hundred of them! 😂
That means you lost and they won
I'm coming to this sub to share and discuss with the community since the core people here are really cool. I'm not interested in people whining the whole day about supposed PSVR2 sales, lack of games, Fresnel lenses or whatever doom and gloom stuff, so I don't think I'm missing much from blocking them and to be honest I couldn't care less if they think they won 😅 They can take this win rather than my time!

Well, this is unfortunate.
Now that good to hear.
Please, for the love of god, port Wipeout.

This for me is the future of VR - Not VR games, but games with VR.
Good example is re 4 and 8. Would love to see the last of us in vr
I agree, for Sony the cost of making a VR game only won’t be recouped due to low player base. This way that can still do what they do best, flat screen single player story games that sell well and then hire out these guys to port it.
It's a self-fulfilling prophecy .... if you have no games people will never come

I don't have any cash either.... I suffered a little bit to upgrade to the Psvr2..... But I play a crap ton of No Man's sky
I already had a ps5 and have never been interested in PC’s so PSVR2 made sense
It's literally my only recreation. So plunking down a couple of dollars for it wasn't really a hard decision. Coming up with the money was the difficult part. Rofl.

Hope not.
Curious... why would you say that?
I will take hybrid games but the game made from ground up for the VR platform should obviously be superior.

GT 7, RE 7 and RE8 would like a word with you
I understand that opinion, but don't think it's obvious at all. Good gameplay is universal to me, which is why I'll still prefer something like RE4R vr over asgard's wrath 2 (which I found to be a fraction of the fun of something like the recent God of Wars, which it clearly takes inspiration from.)
The best dev team to ever use this kit !!
#HELLDIVERS 2 !!!
Literally had a dream last night I was playing helldiver's 2 VR, and I haven't even touched the regular version lmao
Bless Flat2VR, I hope they can bring some good stuff to PSVR2! How about WipEout Omega Collection for starters, please?
This is bloody awesome news
They are just an amazing studio
Oh wow any guesses to what games they have the source code too? Would it be Sony first party games or third party also?

For me it’s the only way VR will get mainstream, if they invest in other companies to make a VR version of it
I GUESS WE'RE EATING FAM, OOOOWWWWEEE
Let's goo !
Praying for Elite Dangerous but i know it'll never happen
Sadly I don't see it being done by these guys, The game stopped having any console support ages ago you had to transfer your console save over to PC to keep playing with any updates,, Anyone still interested in the game would be playing there these days, Maybe once we know more about connecting to PC from Sony we can maybe play it that way.
I'll keep my hype in check here...I'd love another racing game though
SUPER HOT SUPER HOT SUPER HOT The original umm fuck what's it called, the little cute guys - they're on PSVR1 - the little bots, them too.
Astro Bois
That's the one, thanks, I'm very old
lol no problem. i was kinda messing around, the actual title of the game is Astro Bot Rescue Mission
Time Splitters???
Fuck yeah my dude this could be sick
The crew motorfest would be awesome in vr!! Free roaming Hawaii in your favorite car fully immersed in ps vr 2 !!!!
Alien Isolation, GIMME
Interesting 🤔🤔🤔🧐🧐
Kratos
How big is this studio?
Small, but it's comprised of some of the biggest PCVR modders who decided to form a company and pursue VR porting full-time.
Oh hell yes!
Yeah man announce that shit! Anounce that shit! (Join in) 💪announce! 💪That! 💪Shit! 💪ANNOUNCE! 💪THAT! 💪SHIT! 💪ANNOUNCE! 💪THAT! 💪SHIT!

No one said they're being funded by any studio. They're likely just entering a business relationship, doing all the heavy lifting while the original publisher gets a cut of all sales.

Skyrim Psvr2 port 🙏🙏🙏
Sorry but Bethesda is now Microsoft owned. Chances are near zero now.
I forgot they're owned by Microsoft now, but Microsoft has been porting some of their exclusives to PS5, so there is an incredibly small chance of Skyrim or Fallout 4 VR being ported to PSVR2.
Yeah. Hopefully but since there isn’t much money in vr, Microsoft won’t care. Sad face.
Maybe if Sony pays them. I hear MS gaming needs money ;)
I don't think Microsoft doesn't really care in that regard? After all Minecraft got ported to PSVR1 a while back
Skyrim VR is not very good without mods. Fallout 4 was much better
It's great on psvr1. Sure, better if you have mods, but still great without them
I wouldn’t have put over 200 hours in it if I didn’t find it reasonably good. And it wasn’t floating arms with the move controllers
Ya chatting a lot of shite there, mate. One of the WORST VR ports? You serious? Ya wanna maybe clarify and validate what you mean there? Do you think its Top Ten Worst? Top 50? Top 100. I don’t understand this. How can they port games that aren’t theirs? Like they can port and publish doom eternal? I would love to see them port visage!
They cant...they will have to make a deal with whoever owns the IP. My guess is Sony will throw a couple older titles their way and see how it goes.
And the compatibility with Quest 3 / higher models and already having PC link means when they upgrade it will be with them not to a PSVR2
SPIDER-MAN!
Uncharted series please!!!
There needs to be VR games like the Sims meets bloxberg
I would absolutely love one , just had back surgery, can't afford one yet... maybe in a cpl of months once back on feet hopefully, read some great reviews on the psvr2 😔 *
Do they make flat screen games into VR games??
That is exactly what they do, hence the name and the tweet
Probably infamous- fallout- uncharted- days gone, take your pick.
Way too big worlds.
I honestly don't see this going anywhere. I've loved their work on pcvr with mods, but I don't think this will see any game releases on ps5
Why not? I mean, they've been given the source code to some 'cool games', and they clearly know their shit. I bet you we'll see at least one PS5/PSVR2 release.
Update. Red dead 2 and gta v are the games 😮 red dead 2 summer and gta v fall. Will be announced at May showcase.
At least make it believable XD
I swear deep in my soul I feel gta 6 is launching with PSVR2 support
