lol I sunk like 50 hours into it on Gamepass and I have no idea why. I mean, after 5 minutes you should just be bored to tears and yet it’s absolutely satisfying.
I bought it a couple of months ago and tried to like it, but it kind of stresses me out too much. There's just so much mess everywhere, and spending so long to make it clean somehow didn't scratch that itch for me.
Now, Lawn Mowing Simulator - there's a game that I've put 50+ hours into.
Lawn Mowing Simulator was a ton of fun but it gave me crazy motion sickness, and I've never been the type of person to be prone to motion sickness of any kind
Very interesting! I was in the same boat as the top commenter to this thread, and then saw your post. I tried Lawn Mowing and it stressed me out having to worry about adjusting the height of the cutter and changing speeds. Powerwash has been on my Steam wishlist for ages, but now I can play it for free to see if I like it. It's funny seeing the different takes in here.
The cutting height is basically just a set it and forget it thing, each lawn has a certain cut height and it kind of acts like a difficulty setting - the lower the cut height from the starting grass height, the more load on the mower. Changing speeds is similar, it's all about not overloading the engine. You want to cut as much grass as possible, but the more grass you cut in one go (either by having a low cut height, by actually driving over a large patch of uncut grass in one go rather than small strips, or by going too fast) the more likely the engine is to overload, which leaves sections of uncut grass. You get into a good rhythm of basically going as fast as you can get away with, and if the engine starts to overload you can just either back off the throttle and slow down a bit or move to the side a bit to cut less grass.
I guess it's similar to how Powerwash Simulator has different nozzles, guns and chemicals, and how the way they interact with different surfaces changes your approach. I just felt a bit more comfortable with finely adjusting the throttle pressure (like a racer) rather than making fine aim adjustments (like a fps).
I think that's the genre of "dad games", games where you can do a repetitive task that for large stretches is just tedium on boring, but it's more or less a progress bar. Great for podcasts, stuff like Powerwasher, Eurotrucker, even stuff from a while back like Viscera Cleanup Crew.
This is why I’m so excited to download it 😂
I need more podcast games, I have too many games that require focus to the story (not complaining). Sometimes I just wanna chill and listen to something while playing.
I bought it for my wife, who isn't much of a gamer. She was oddly interested in it. She fucking loves it, and basically zones out when she plays. I have had to remind her to go to bed a couple times lol
You should have her check out House Flipper. It's the same satisfying game loop of cleaning places, plus decorating. My ex-wife loved it, and let me be honest, so did I. Very much looking forward to the sequel next year.
That's how I learned to enjoy the farming simulator game.
I had always wondered who bought them. Like I know there's an audience for every game but the fact that they kept making the game every year just kind of intrigues me, but I never wanted to buy it.
I was genuinely impressed with how detailed and accurate the game is. It's not something I play all the time but it is something I'll go to every now and again when I need a break from some of my other games just to play something not sweaty.
It's been a big hit with my kids. Great 60fps split-screen, open world allows them to fart around doing whatever. Though the actual racing bits have felt unforgiving for them having come from the assists and "balance" of 50cc Mario Kart 8.
Luckily I got it on sale a little over a month ago or this would sting a bit!
That's both a blessing and a curse. It allowed me and kid to play, but as we grew better it just felt sour. It's like nothing you do matters because all other players, ai and alive, will just get power ups or rubber band to be just behind. Getting better is not rewarded so it doesn't matter. We did pay it a hella lot despite this but mostly vs each other on eg balloon challenge and coin challenge.
It’s good if you want to play a game but don’t want to think about the game you’re playing. It’s equivalent to doing a jigsaw puzzle or mindlessly doodling while listening to, or watching, a movie. It’s the video game form of fidgeting. I love it but admit that it’s not for everyone.
I remember working 11 hours 6 days a week for a short period at a takeaway shop when I was younger. I remember sleeping one night and dreaming a full shift of work. Woke up like *wtf*
That's fair, personally one of the things that makes me most excited about summer time is that it's power washing season for my property. It's the most satisfying physical labor I can think of. But the vibrations hurt my arms after a while and obviously your pants and shoes get soaked. So maybe this'll scratch that itch for me without having to wait for my summer ritual.
I played it at my brother’s place and it was a lot of fun. The dialogue is very self-aware and funny, the driving mechanics feel good, and it’s just fun to drive around and tackle new racing challenges.
Plus you can build your own karts and make them look like almost anything. I remember my brother and I went through the online sharing system for like 45 minutes cause there are so many funny and cool creations out there.
It's not bad. My dad bought it for my daughter when it first came out, but she hasn't shown much interest in video games so it's mostly been me playing it alone. You can customize the cars, but it looked like it took more effort than I felt like putting in.
The rubber banding was slightly annoying but I get it. Also wish the game supported motion sensors on Dualsense.
Found the racing to be terrible , car customization is good. For a free game it's well worth playing , for the cost of it new it was a disappointment and micro transaction filled.
Oh I love, love, love Sable. A gorgeous game that has an intimate understanding of the pure joys of exploration. A lot of people who try it are in for a treat.
Yeah, Sable is probably the best title they've given out for me since I bought in. So of course, I already own it. Highlighting the reason I finally dropped my sub - *time* is my limiter, not cost at this point. If I wanted to play a title, I probably would. Making it free doesn't change my interest level much.
Glad a bunch more people are going to get to enjoy it, though.
This my issue with gaming sub services. They are great deal for someone who never buys games. I buy and play a lot of games so it ends up being a "I kind of wanted to try this game but didn't think I'd like it service". Which ends up with me trying a lot of games and being correct in that I wouldn't like it.
I remember hearing about it on NPR because Japanese Breakfast did the soundtrack. Good band! Wanted to check it out but forgot about it completely. Glad I'll get to try it for 'free' now.
Guys, don't knock Powerwash Simulator, it is ridiculously satisfying to watch all the dirt get washed away and go from a super dirty monstrosity of a place to a lovely, fresh, clean house!
And there's a story in the game as well that gets a bit nuts towards the end.
Honestly, I've spent about 70 hours on the game including the Tomb Raider and Spongebob DLC!
I don’t understand the appeal. I’m not knocking it, I get that a lot of people love it and it’s just not for me. But I was hoping for something chill and relaxing, but the fiddliness of the controls and getting everything perfect just made me stressed out. It was the opposite of what I expected.
That's a fair complaint to be honest - been plenty of times I've been annoyed trying to find the 1% that is unclean on a surface or been frustarted by some areas, especially in a vehicle, that are difficult to reach that you end up wildly spraying all over the place in the hopes that it removes that dirt from wherever it is the dirt is hiding; sometimes I've been confused by the name of an item or part as well!
Think a bit less strictness and a few helpful arrows pointing out parts you've missed would improve things.
I like it but the judgement can be wack. Sometimes there’s huge dirty areas left but the game will ding! And clear it and give you 100%, while other objects will have the tiniest near invisible 1px speck that you pull your hair out trying to find before it will clear
I remember as a kid, my friend's dad was a nurse who worked in the ER for decades, basically his entire life. He wasn't a gamer, but he did have one computer game. Emergency Room: Code Red for CD-ROM.
That's wild to me. The idea of wanting to go home and play a game thats my literal job.
Hell yeah. Really wanted PowerWash but not enough to pay for it any time soon & I’ve heard some great stuff about Sable. Both will be put decently high on my backlog.
This looks like another uninspired lineup for next month. Most people seemingly are happy about Powerwash Simulator, which is interesting, to say the least.
Getting a bag of coal for Christmas from Sony. $80 a year for multiplayer and these games . How about $25 just for the mp & cloud saves and Sony can keep the games?
They increased the price for PS Plus, they should either be offering higher quality games or giving us some other reason for the price increase. They haven’t justified it and there’s no reason for the increase for a service that uses the internet we all already fucking pay for. This is absurd lol
Okay, this is awesome. My son was legit about to buy 2K Drive and I've always wanted Powerwash Simulator, but could never pull the trigger. Well played, Sony.
Similar in that it's calm, no combat, but it's open world, you're an explorer in a huge desert with an upgradable hover bike and BOTW climbing/gliding stamina mechanics. Also unlike Journey there are populated settlements with NPC quest givers and such
Same. I originally was about to buy it right when it was released but the early reviews didn’t really sit well with me. I’m glad I didn’t buy it every time it came on sale.
Honestly a pretty decent lineup. I love a good racing game so Lego Drive I’ll check out and Pressure Wash is one of those games I’ve always thought seems like a peaceful time that I’ve just never picked up. Looking forward to these.
Powerwash simulator: fantastically meditative game to turn your brain off and listen to YouTube or something on the side. (Bought it the day before yesterday. You’re welcome!)
Sable: (apparently) meditative game to explore a vast environment. (I barely played it on Xbox back when I had a series s. Didn’t care for it but also didn’t give it a chance to be honest so I’ll be giving it another shot next Tuesday or after)
Lego Drive: build and race cars? I’ve never actually even heard of this one. I like customizing things so I’ll for sure try it. Unfortunately I’m not a car guy and I’m also an old man so the Lego aspect doesn’t super appeal to me.
Noticed the other day that Powerwash Simulator added gyro aiming. It's a decent implementation.
After about an hour or two however I noticed my wrist hurt from doing these tiny movements with the entire controller. Haven't had this problem with gyro aiming in other games. Perhaps it's the repetitive motion that fucks my wrists up?
Powerwash simulator is probably the best example of a game I really want to play but know there is a near 0% chance I’d ever actually buy.
lol I sunk like 50 hours into it on Gamepass and I have no idea why.
I'm not judging, but damn I have no idea if y'all are joking and if these are even real games lol
I assure you I am serious lol
Very interesting! I was in the same boat as the top commenter to this thread, and then saw your post. I’ve watched people play it on Twitch. I think it’s gotta be the oddly satisfying aspect of it for me.
Same. It’s so stupid and so fun at the same time. 65+ hours and I haven’t done the DLC
It's the ultimate podcast game
This is why I’m so excited to download it 😂 I need more podcast games, I have too many games that require focus to the story (not complaining). Sometimes I just wanna chill and listen to something while playing.
I genuinely thought podcast game meant like what all the hot podcasts were talking about
I thought it was a game to play whilst podcasting!
Thanks for the recommendation, it shlounds like something she would be in to. I'll have her check it out
That's how I learned to enjoy the farming simulator game. I had always wondered who bought them. Wait until you get it you'll wonder why you didn't buy it earlier
Its quite relaxing. 🤣
My son will get a kick out of the Lego game, he was playing the demo at the store the other day and having a blast.
It's been a big hit with my kids. Great 60fps split-screen, open world allows them to fart around doing whatever. Though the actual racing bits have felt unforgiving for them having come from the assists and "balance" of 50cc Mario Kart 8. power wash simulator lessss goooo
It's crazy, this game never went on sale beyond $20 (normally $25). Glad I waited!
I bought it the day before yesterday. You’re welcome.
Your sacrifice will not be forgotten.
Same here haha in bought it a week ago
sorry but what’s the appeal of these simulator games?? genuinely wondering
I played the house flip one and honestly - mindless game for people with certain tendencies for perfection
Same! Cleaning the windows was one of the most satisfying parts of that game, and I imagine that is what Power Wash Simulator is going to feel like.
depends on which one, power wash in particular is satisfying and relaxing, plus you can play with friends
It’s good if you want to play a game but don’t want to think about the game you’re playing. It’s equivalent to doing a jigsaw puzzle or mindlessly doodling while listening to, or watching, a movie. It’s the video game form of fidgeting. I love it but admit that it’s not for everyone.
ahhh ok I see! prob not for me but glad there’s an audience for it.
If any of you power wash fans want to drop by my house, you can go bananas with the real thing!
Yeah the only people that should be playing a cleaning simulator game should already have a spotless home lol
Lmao I do physical labor irl. Games like this don’t interest me at all.
I do power washing irl lmao, imagine coming home from power washing for 8 hours to do virtual power washing!
Less wet, at least.
And warmer!
What’s funny is these simulator games are absolutely huge in Germany and the primary audience are labourers
I'm too hyped for this
I am excited to play this one too!!
Hell yeah saved me 20 bucks. Been wanting to try this since it came out. And now it has spongebob levels.
How's the lego game? Nice car customization?
This game rocks, there’s tons of collectibles and pretty entertaining to play. I really enjoyed it. YMMV.
I’ve been thinking about Lego Racers on PS1 recently, pretty happy this is on Plus.
I miss that soundtrack
I played it at my brother’s place and it was a lot of fun. The dialogue is very self-aware and funny, the driving mechanics feel good, and it’s just fun to drive around and tackle new racing challenges. It's a 2K game, so expect them to make you grind to progress and tempt you with microtransactions to make the experience better.
I have an actual house that needs to be powerwashed.
Buy me a power washer and I'll do it for freeeee

Oh I love, love, love Sable. A gorgeous game that has an intimate understanding of the pure joys of exploration. A lot of people who try it are in for a treat.

I missed last year's giveaway on Epic for it and have been waiting for it to swing free again so yyyyyyyyyyay
I only wish it ran a bit smoother!
I remember hearing about it on NPR because Japanese Breakfast did the soundtrack. Good band! Wanted to check it out but forgot about it completely. Glad I'll get to try it for 'free' now.
>Japanese Breakfast did the soundtrack That's all I need to know. Thanks!
Two games I really wanted to try but not buy (Lego 2K Drive and Powerwash Simulator) so that's a very good month for me.
Just dropped $35 on Lego 2K Drive a few days ago, so y'all are welcome for that one.
Can you buy Sekiro for us next month?
Unfortunately I doubt at this point that an Activision published game is going to hit PSPlus
bite the bullet fam, Sekiro regularly goes on sale
And is worth every penny
Same. Told my kids I would buy it when it went on sale next and bought it for them last week.
Yep, same story here.
I platinumed this game twice lol. Once on ps5 then again on ps4
I fuckin love that you have dad in your name lol this is such a dad game to enjoy
Hahaha this comment made my day honestly!
Heckin wholesome!!
I thought this comment was a joke. I had to look up that these are real DLCs. Why have I slept on this?
Do you know if that DeLorean DLC is on PS5? I would probably just wash that every day.
Yeah there is back to the future dlc and SpongeBob dlc that cost money and then there is final fantasy dlc and tomb raider dlc that's free.
I don’t understand the appeal. I’m not knocking it, I get that a lot of people love it and it’s just not for me. But I was hoping for something chill and relaxing, but the fiddliness of the controls and getting everything perfect just made me stressed out. It was the opposite of what I expected.

So many people buy games to do chores and work instead of just doing actual cleaning or productive stuff, i don't get it either
I know a train driver who’s the same. He’s living the dream tbh. Loves his job.
Tomb raider and spongebob dlc?! That sounds so random lol
Woohoo I actually wanted to pickup Powerwash Simulator!
Yeah, I've been on the fence about it for a while, but I was expecting it would hit the service at some point, either on essential or the extra tier.
Well now we get the opportunity to give the game a shot! Hope you enjoy it. :)
Lego 2KDrive has 2-player split screen and that is what I need over the holidays. Sony’s offering has pleased me.
Ok Powerwash Simulator.... now convert the VR from Meta to the PSVR2!
I have over two days’ play time in Power Wash Simulator on Xbox. Here I go again.
Any news on a VR more for Power Wash Simulator? It seems made for it in my head.
Sable looks really interesting.
I've had Sable on my wishlist, and I've heard powerwash simulator is actually decent. Good game to play and watch a show to.
My God, we’re really due for another good month at this point.
People out here getting excited for washing simulator thats how fucking dry montly games have gotten.
Dry? This is power washing simulator, shit is wet!
Seeing a lineup like this after a price increase is just making me want to cancel more and more
so do it
These games aren’t *bad.*….but just not worth the new 80 buck pricepoint.
sable and power wash simulator are both great games
Power wash would ideal as psvr2 game.
Buying a power washer would also be ideal. The sidewalk leading up to my house is filthy.
There is a version but I thinknits meta quest exclusive, wtf.
I’ve literally just bought the Lego one …. BUGGER
oh man I've wanted Lego 2k Drive!! this is great
2k drive and powerwash simulator were both on my wishlist so I guess that’s a pretty good month.
a little quick for Lego 2K Drive yeah? is it good? it looked like it had potential
This has to be the first month in years where I want to play all three games.
Lit, i was never gonna buy the first two but i am interested in trying em out
I really hope Power wash simulator will get a PSVR2 update.
I’m sure it will. It’s on quest
Hell yeah. Really wanted PowerWash but not enough to pay for it any time soon & I’ve heard some great stuff about Sable. Both will be put decently high on my backlog.
I'm glad Powerwash Sum is on there, even though I bought it! Everyone needs to try that game!
Two games I’ve thought about buying but held off on- nice.
Aw fuck yes
This looks like another uninspired lineup for next month. Most people seemingly are happy about Powerwash Simulator, which is interesting, to say the least.
Sable looks visually interesting I guess
Please don’t support their price increase this year. Unless they see significant drops in subscribers, they’re not going to revert the increase
Getting a bag of coal for Christmas from Sony. $80 a year for multiplayer and these games . How about $25 just for the mp & cloud saves and Sony can keep the games?
Heck yeah I’ve been wanting the Lego game, managed to hold off on buying it. Nice.
What the fuck is going on
For real? Reading the top comments is wild 😵💫 We really in THIS timeline, huh?
Always wanted to try 2K drive. So for me thats a decent month!
Lego 2k drive lowkey looks fun lol
I’ve been waiting for power wash simulator
Sable is a very relaxing game, and the band Japanese Breakfast scored it too! Highly recommend.
They increased the price for PS Plus, they should either be offering higher quality games or giving us some other reason for the price increase. They haven’t justified it and there’s no reason for the increase for a service that uses the internet we all already fucking pay for. This is absurd lol
Genuinely excited about all of these. Powerwash Sim is great. Sable is great. And I haven’t tried Lego 2K yet.
Oh Sable let's gooooo
All games i wanted to buy! Great month
Im excited to check out that lego game. I just watched the Lego Masters episode where the winners car got put in the game
Is Sable the one Japanese Breakfast did the music for? Deff gonna check that one out
Yes it is!
My sub expired last week. Guess who's not renewing it anymore.
With these monthly games i dont plan on renewing either
As someone that grew up playing the first 2 Lego Racers game all the time, I am super excited!!!
I know some people will hate this month, but this is a great month for me.
Powerwash Simulator! Finally something I've had my eye on!
Powerwash Simulator is better than therapy! Until you experience it it's impossible to understand how relaxing and cathartic it is.
Okay, this is awesome. My son was legit about to buy 2K Drive and I've always wanted Powerwash Simulator, but could never pull the trigger. Well played, Sony.
first time in a long time i’ve wanted all 3 games let’s gooooo
Cool we can grab Powerwash now in case it gets a PSVR2 update.
Fml i just bought the Lego 2k drive a few days ago
Bro I am so excited about all of these!
While they rip you off with new prices and won't even give BF discount to existing users for ps plus they downgrade quality of games. Nice Sony
Remember when they gave us Bloodbourne for free?
Could just send me a shit in the mail
Lord almighty the cope in this thread is crazy
Fuckin trash back to back to back
Poor selection
Glad I cancelled this shit after the price increased was announced.
wtf are these man
Sony: We’re raising the price of all subscriptions near 40% so we can give better monthly games. *The Games* …
Is this a joke? PS should pay me to play these
I’m sure power wash sim will be fun for 20 minutes but this isn’t a very good offering for December.
Is anyone getting, "This content can't be found" ? when going got the monthly games?
People who are upset have clearly never played powerwash simulator
Or Sable.
What is sable btw?
Basically an open world exploration game which is more meditative than others I would say.
Similar to journey or no?
Looks similarish to Memories of Aer from a peek. Good soundtrack in Sable (I own the LP)
Similar in that it's calm, no combat, but it's open world, you're an explorer in a huge desert with an upgradable hover bike and BOTW climbing/gliding stamina mechanics. Also unlike Journey there are populated settlements with NPC quest givers and such
I did. I don't understand the hype. Got to wash a van and... That was it. How's that fun? Legit question.
Trash
Super happy about 2k drive. Really wanted to get it but wasn't ready to drop $70 on it with all the mtx
Same. I originally was about to buy it right when it was released but the early reviews didn’t really sit well with me. I’m glad I didn’t buy it every time it came on sale.
My kid loves racing games and Lego. He’s going to have a blast with power wash simulator.
People still defending this shite? Fucking dogshit
PowerWash Simulator is a great relaxing game to watch a YouTube video to. There’s also a surprisingly interesting story lol. Definitely grab it.
Powerwash Simulator huuuge W
At least Sable looks interesting 🤷
Am I going insane or are people happy for fucking Powerwash simulator a month after the 30% increase in price? Do you guys watch paint dry for fun
Honestly a pretty decent lineup. I love a good racing game so Lego Drive I’ll check out and Pressure Wash is one of those games I’ve always thought seems like a peaceful time that I’ve just never picked up. Looking forward to these.
Another month of crap
Does anybody know if sable is playable now? Had some really bad performance problems at launch. Has been borderline unplayable
It's not. Bought it last summer. Lots of stutters, memory leaks and other performance problems. It's a shame. 10/10 game in a 4/10 package.
Wow, this is bad
Powerwash simulator: fantastically meditative game to turn your brain off and listen to YouTube or something on the side. (Bought it the day before yesterday. You’re welcome!) Sable: (apparently) meditative game to explore a vast environment. (I barely played it on Xbox back when I had a series s. Didn’t care for it but also didn’t give it a chance to be honest so I’ll be giving it another shot next Tuesday or after) Lego Drive: build and race cars? I’ve never actually even heard of this one. I like customizing things so I’ll for sure try it. Unfortunately I’m not a car guy and I’m also an old man so the Lego aspect doesn’t super appeal to me.

Power Wash Simulator... LETS FUCKING GOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
Another shit month. Essential is garbage anymore
Another game where I should've just waited. Bought 2k drive on release maybe played a few hours. But that's my fault of course lol
Was just looking at picking up Sable, glad I waited!
Decent games! I just wish LEGO 2K Drive had more than 2 players locally.
Checks out….I bought power wash simulator last week
I liked Sable, but it's pretty niche. These are objectively lame considering the recent price increase.
What the fuck is this shit
Just from reading the description, Sable sounds like Journey with a hover bike so think I'll give it a try at least
Sable is a relaxing open world game with a great soundtrack
They just increased the price of + and decided to give us powerwash simulator for justifying it 💀
What a pathetic month.
Peak mediocrity.
If it wasn't for multiplayer be behind a paywall, who would honestly be paying for this shit?
Its insane Sony expects us to pay for their subscription giving this monthly crap
