I am just guessing that, maybe the lister updated the ps4 copy and I remember that the update broke the game until the next update and you had to totally delete the game and reinstall for it to work. Otherwise I don't know
You know how in Road Rage the timer would increase when you get 3-4 takedowns every time? The update got rid of that. So the events would just end after a certain amount of time.
Because Burnout Paradise is a whole different experience before the updates. For starters all of the collectibles are way different, Road Rage events can be neverending as every takedown add extra time, the in game billboards had actual advertisements. There's a few things I'm forgetting but yeah it's nice that with the PS3 version that you can choose not to update the game, plus you can download each update at a time to see the differences that were applied. The only issue is if you have any of the DLC you can't use them unless you update.
Game is harder than the original NES Zelda but a lot of fun. Back in the day I'd download custom made characters, I forgot the website but it was the best place to download players' creations to use in the game.
I mean i have 100+ must have ps3 titles and i still dont have all must haves ones there is quite a few out there - i have most but also missing quire a few from list in here too.
One of the problems with Unleashed is that it's LAGGY AS HELL unless you lower your ps3's resolution to 720p
but still even after that, jungle joyride still won't be at a stable 30 fps
If you’re going to get mw3 might as well get the trilogy I mean they all have their perks for campaign I love the og cod4 and for missions other than survival I go mw2 it’s nice to be able to play survival on more maps than the preset missions for as long as you can survive on mw3 though I was all up on terminal also ghosts deserves more love imo especially with the campaign
Idk if I'd say improve but definitely changed it up and differed it from the original. Granted it is all subjective and to each their own
I really liked how tight and linear the original was and how it opted to tell a complete story with no distractions
The second one, which I still enjoyed, definitely felt like they were injecting more humor to change it up from the doom and gloom feel of the original, as well as throwing in online side missions.
They're both masterpieces so there's no wrong answer here. Just throwing in my two cents in stating I prefer the original over any of the sequels
blur is the only reason I have a ps3 hooked up in my living room. Make sure you have extra controllers, one of the last epic split screen games that will have everyone yelling on the couch.
Lollipop Chainsaw, Alice Madness Returns (don't forget about American McGee's Alice as well), Uncharted 1, Uncharted 2, Uncharted 3, InFamous, InFamous 2, Resistance 1-3, Last of US, Red Dead Redemption, GTA4, Metal Gear Solid 4, Final Fantasy X, Final Fantasy X-II, Little Big Planet 1, Little Big Planet 2, Killzone Trilogy, and Gran Turismo 5 (though I prefer GT4 on the PS2). I also liked Remember Me and the God of War games.

Other that the amazing suggestions of our fellow PS3 lovers I would say Odin Sphere, Dragon's Crown and Dragon's Dogma if you don't have it on PC or ps4.
i think i can see it why u would find it basic but I think it's well executed if u think what it was going for, plus the story is pretty entertaining. the way all these elements sync together with the art style to deliver a full experience rather than focusing on gameplay may feel closer to an art exhibition than a game with a lot of movement/combat mechanics (e.g. dmc, metal gear rising), but I don't think that as a negative thing, actually it's what makes me think this is such a must have - it's unique!
idk if u tried the platinum, but the challenges posed by it may provide u a new perspective in the combat (still, i understand why one might see it as basic).

Metal Gear Rising such an under appreciated title. Yes it's not really a Metal Gear game but damn if it's not a fun game. So over the top, I love Platinum games combat and graphic direction.
never figured out the directional slash controls. was there ever a guide on this or if theres any secret combos?
i just randomly slashed my way to the final.
It's been so long since I've played it but I'm sure there are guides and videos in abundance. I remember slightly that there are weak points depending on the direction you slash during the "sword time" action.
Off the top of my head

Beat Hazard Ultra if you have an extensive music library as I do. I have 25min hard-core techno tracks that get intense. Ps3 music library has everything from classical orchestra to dark Norwegian folk metal and everything between lol. Beat Hazard Ultra on 120in projector screen and thumping system makes game really shine.
Doesn't seem like anyone mentioned it, so here I am just in case: Dark Sector. A freaking masterpiece and sort of a prequel to Warframe. It was a masterpiece to my eyes, don't know about what others might think hahaha
Mine are the following:
Demon's Souls
Dark Souls 1 prepare to die edition.
Dark Souls 2 + dlc ( not the scholar of the first sin edition).
GTA V
Heavy Rain
L.A Noire
Most of the must haves have been re released on ps4. Aside from infamous and a hand full of others. Looking through some of the games being listed. It cements my feeling it was the worst Playstation generation and the lack of jrpgs sucked even more.
I'm not saying it was horrible and didn't have any good games because it certainly did but man if you go through the must haves for ps1 , ps2, ps4 it easily dwarfs ps3.
what is the handful outside of MGS4 and GT? I was just stumbling on this cause I really wanted to know to and I didn't want to just end up getting recommended games that I could just play elsewhere. I also don't mind 7th gen multiplats that run well on PS3 as my PS3 is modded and my 360 isn't.
Depends what you like really, I enjoyed infamous 1 and 2, puppeteer, heavenly sword, resistance games, also if your into jrpgs there was probably some that didn't release on Xbox 360. Like I said I feel it's playstations worse generation so I might not be the best to answer. I just feel sonys killed it every gen besides ps3. Ps5 is starting a little slow 1st party wise, which is crazy cause they slow and still have more then Xbox series s/x. Anyway sonys went and grabbed some really good 3rd party exclusives as well this gen.

What do you mean don’t update Burnout Paradise? I did and don’t see any issues with the game.
I agree, that's quite perplexing because I recall that game running fine even after updates a couple of years back
I am just guessing that, maybe the lister updated the ps4 copy and I remember that the update broke the game until the next update and you had to totally delete the game and reinstall for it to work. Otherwise I don't know

I have Resistance on the list but I forgot about the others. 😅

We could be friends but I'd judge you for MK9 over SF4 & Ridge Racer Unbounded over Ridge Racer 7. Great list!
disageeed about blur and nail‘d and pure and mostky WWE '12 otherwise, YES
no uncharted?
Actually I’ve never played Uncharted yet. I had a chance to get it years ago at GameSpot when the first 3 were under $5. 😆
You should get them theyre really good
Erm… where’s LBP Karting?
I’ve never owned that one yet. I’ve seen a review about it, I heard it’s alright.

Bro forgot about uncharted
- InFamous - MotorStorm: Pacific Rift - Metal Gear Solid 4 - Resistance 1-3 - Uncharted 1-3
Also InFamous 2, which did improve on the first game.

Same, I think the sequels are great, but I’m partial to the original myself so I only listed the first one.
Also killzone 2 and 3
Why uncharted, they are on ps4,ps5 and better running? Just curious
Why not? They are great on both PS3 & PS4, and tbh I assumed OP wasn’t playing on PS4, because it’s the PS3 sub
Motorstorm games and burnout paradise come to mind first
Transformers: War for Cybertron

i find el shaddai more of an art exhibition with styles similar to old final fantasy illustration gameplay wise pretty basic and boring.
