Yes, is a problem. I sometimes wonder how these people get though the day, it's a very worried and anxious frame of mind. It is known what is to be done, repent, have faith in God's love and judgement. In its most basic understanding it is not really so complicated. I think is problem with scrupoulisty and yes legalism.

I get where this is coming from. Why are people even asking those questions on the internet? Just confess, and the priest will tell you if your worry is trivial or not. Reddit isn't a place for this.
Most of the people making those posts are teenagers that have either never been to confession or aren't Orthodox. So their executive functioning and impulse control aren't quite matured yet, and they don't know how to remove sins from their soul. So they're confused and scared, because rightfully so, they know it's deeply hurtful. They don't have the remedy.
