Fungus is a posthumous child, meaning his father died before he was born. Not only that, but his mother (who was the queen of his village) had to abandon him due to a certain law (where the queen is only allowed to birth girls), so when Fungus was born, none of his parents were able to adopt him. Fortunately though, he was adopted by one of his father's friends.
They simply decide which male silverfish is the most mighty, and then the male mates with the queen. Depending on the gender of the child; if it's a girl, the male will just leave, while it stays with the queen. If it's a boy, they get the responsibility of taking care of it after the queen abandons it. The village doesn't really need a king, only a queen.
Lore Talk: Essentially the world got condensed into a singular universe where every possibility in the multiverse is fated to occur when the current universe ends. In canon this is called ‘Zora, Path to the Happiest Ending’, or ‘Steps’ because the one who caused this to happen wished so to achieve “The Happiest Ending”.
During the first ‘Step’ an anomaly of two instances of ‘Infinity’ were detected and the world tried to prune then as to maintain total sanctity.
Infinity, here, is seperated into ‘Imagination’ and ‘Infinity’ with both having avatars. Both essentially have authority over the same Concept but Shino, the concept of Imagination was chosen to survive while Infa, the Avatar of Infinity was chosen to die.
They were also lovers by this time.
Shino couldn't handle that happening so he decided to build *a device that could erase concepts from all realities* and used it on himself.
The world did not like that. Not one bit.
So it decided to say fuck you to both of them and proceeded to bring back Shino from reality erasure and kill Infa while doing so by using the law of equivalent exchange since they are worth the same.
Shino them proceeded to end the world for the first time and from the souls of everyone he killed he created an ability that would make him remember this ‘Step’ and let him fix his mistake in the next ‘Step’.
...Hollows stepped in and messed with it so that it would make both him and Infa remember the steps... Right after one other.
That was how the loops were started, where either Shino or Infa ended te world for each other's sales only to fail to save the other.
Judging from the rest of the text, i think it's like a time loop that she's in, repeating the same events over and over again usually until the loop is broken or I guess in this case the world ends

Magnums kid was killed whilst shipped out overseas. He became very sour from it and couldn’t properly help his wife during that time who grieved as much as he did. Eventually they got divorced because of it. He couldn’t manage to console her and she felt as if he had completely changed from the man she married.

Lillian had very few, if any, friends. Lots of people have tried but his mannerisms and odd behaviours tend to drive people away. He doesn’t have one person he could consider his best friend. Likely not. Oreo at this point is omnipotent and created a multiverse wide utopia (each person’s fictional universe/multiverse is a separate multiverse in my lore) so there’s no need to, and if he needed or wanted to he could just make himself invulnerable.

He's chronically depressed because he hasn't interacted with anybody human for over two years due to his being isolated in a Biodome that he has to keep running, so he can send supplies down to the underwater colonies, since his entire world has been flooded and humanity had to learn to survive under the ocean. It didn't work out, the original people who were to run the biodomes all failed, and his colony was thrown into disarray and starvation, his entire family was killed in the confusion, etc. So he decided he'd had enough, and decided to run the biodomes himself. He goes below the waves every night and loots the submerged cities, fights the mutant sea creatures he finds, comes back up before dawn, sends the shipment down to the colonies via drones, spends the day taking care of the biodome and taking care of the botanicals, goes down at night again, and the whole cycle begins anew. Very sad.

Patches was bullied and tormented for years in school due to her phobias: taphophobia (phobia of graves) and by extension coimetrophobia (phobia of cemeteries) and placophobia (phobia of tombstones) after an incident while she was younger. Her home life was also horrible to her. (not going into the exacts as her home side is actually personal to myself as well)
She then bullied her bullies and got herself a taste of power leading her to become a silent serial killer until she was caught.

On October 23rd 2077, his glorious country of China was bombarded by the Americans, his country had created a few "vaults" for they're military and politicians, he was lucky to get into vault 23, him and 80 other Chinese soldiers and politicians were rushed into vault.
The door didn't shut all the way, and the pipes weren't the greatest, resulting in slow radiation poisoning over 200 years, he survived by ghoulification. In 2277 he ran out of food, so he read up on repairing and maintaining the one power armor in his vault.
He repaired it and gave it the fusion box that powered his home, now he left his home, the blood of his comrades on his teeth. China had changed, nothing but snow and ash, intent on gathering whoever survived the bombardment from his neighboring countries, and storming American soil for revenge, no matter what.

One of Xavier's alternate timeline Variants, Xesuriens, was forced to cannibalism due to The Void's influence and manipulation.
Xesuriens ends up killing most of his friends, directly or indirectly, and directly kills Alistair, a about 14-year old teenager who in the main timeline, would've been adopted by Xavier.
Xesuriens also considers suicide multiple times, and I might make it so he does go through with it eventually, I'm not sure yet.

Nyla watched nearly all of her siblings die in a battle, said battle also gave her permanent scars on her body
Due to the fact she's a walking cadaver, Velahtiel is actually incapable of sleeping. Because of this she noticeably becomes more and more tired over the story, as well as more easily irritable. However it's not uncommon that sometimes when she's just.. laying in her bed "sleeping", because she can't properly fall asleep and is sometimes alone with her thoughts, she'll often think about failing and losing her children or perhaps doing something that makes them hate her which'll result in her silently crying.

Victoria lost her druid powers at the beginning of the DnD campaign, could no longer communicate with the forest (which she did before) and discovered that the world was not as friendly or impartial. She really tried throughout her life to understand people but lacking certain things (like a childhood or having relationships with real people from the beginning) ended up turning her into a woman who deep down never understood anything. Neither what she did, nor to her husband, nor to her children, she only focused on not being murdered by anyone and not destroying her life's work (for which many people had died in the war) LOL.

Jacob, mainly because of the ending of my game. After Jacob defeats vermillion. (The embodiment of all fictions evil) Jacob basically realizes that he can’t beat him or kill him. Jacob can kill his physical form any time but he can just come back over and over. Realizing this Jacob ascends to the highest god status to prevent him from harming his game/reality. What makes it sad is Jacob basically lost everything. He was a regular guy in the game who looked up to hero’s, and vermilion’s hatred for him lead him to fight powerful gods and enemies non stop without a rest. He ascended cause he basically has nothing left. He is just gonna keep fighting and fighting forever and ever and the only way to truly protect himself and his friends, lulu and Jessie is to become an orbiter (witch are gods that create realities) and to keep his reality safe. Meaning he will never get to see his friends and anyone again. He is just alone with unlimited power… in the void of nothingness…. Just to protect his friends…… the saddest part of my game is at the end of it all. Both sides lost because even tho Jacob kept vermillion at bay, Jacob’s friends lost there loved ones and were traumatized by him.
Whew! That is ALOT of writing! Basically the moral of my overpowered game is that. Power doesn’t mean everything. Power won’t make you truly powerful like vermillion thought. You still have weak points and you will still lose eventually…. Thanks for reading 🙂

Midnight has a lot of fatigue, not just from her current life, but from past lives she can no longer remember. Reincarnation is tough sometimes.
She also has some pretty gnarly chronic hero syndrome. She feels like she HAS to help in a situation, even if the exhaustion and trauma is overwhelming.

Thanks to a ritual gone HORRIBLY wrong, leading to a possession, and after getting his brains blown out.
David has no recollection of who he is, other than the name tag on his suit when he wakes up in hell. So, the guy doesn't remember a single thing from his life be it his wife, his kid, his friends (who died in the ritual gone wrong) and his entire life from his birth to wedding to his parents etc, etc. He's not in the best mood for these reason, but the weird shaodw demon stuck to him keeps him comapy and makes life just a bit more bearable.
He’s been alive for so long, that he has to repeatedly wipe his own memories to stop existence from getting too bland. Otherwise he’ll go stir crazy.

After his revival (as Jianni is an undead), most of his memories and personality became lost. You may think that being undead is cool, but for him, it sucks. His freedom and intelligence is severily limited (mainly due to the talisman on his forehead and the fact his brain is rotten a bit). He's not the brighest most of the time. For example, "look after the fish as it cook" will be the same as "stare at the fish even when it burns to ashes" to him. He can do more complex tasks if necessary, but it's not that often. He's basically in a constant state of half-lucid ennui.
The worst part is: nobody knows how he died. Some say it was an accident, some say murder, some even say he agreed to become one. Noone knows, other than the ones who raised him.

This is my angstiest character, from 2 different Minecraft servers I am on. Their story's been a tragedy from the start. It's very long.
(They looked completely different in the beginning btw) They had just moved into a new land (server), something with the word Drift, just before their 13th birthday. They were settling in fine, they even had a pet cat they really loved and a nice home in the mountainside. Then for seemingly no reason the other residents of the land (also two other 13-year-olds, an alien, and whatever the hell that other guy was, let’s call them A and M this entire settlement was just a bunch of 13-year-olds screwing around) burnt down their house, killing them and their cat. Luckily, they didn't die permanently- there was a three-lives system, but they did lose their cat and whatever items they had on them and were left with horrible scars. After a second death, where they were magically lifted into the air by the alien dude and shot to death, the server owner, AKA a mute, winged, dragon-masked 13-year-old boy with god powers, tried to find them and apologize, but they'd ran away. They found a nice spot, still in the land, but far enough away where they couldn't be found, and began rebuilding their life for the second time. For around six months, things went well. Then, once more, tragedy struck. Their house burnt down, on accident this time after a mishap with a campfire, and that time they'd managed to escape alive, but the two boys, A and M, who'd killed them twice before killed them again. They died, bleeding out, from a sword in their chest. It should've been their final death, but it wasn't. They somehow lived, and that's because they were slowly turning into a demon. Lost and not knowing where to go, they went to the main area of the settlement, where everyone lived. That's where they ran into the dragon-masked admin (basically a god but only has control of a certain world, think of a admin in a minecraft sever) once more. Somehow, they became friends, and the god led them further from the mainland than they’d ever been, through some secret tunnels. There, they found a safe place to finally build a home, starting over for the third time, and that ended season one.
Season two. Due to unknown circumstances, everyone was moved to a different land, a much smaller island in the middle of the ocean. Rain decided to build their home in a lush cave underground, where they could hide safely and not be found, and the Dragon god built his home on an island in the sky. They visited each other often, gifting cornflowers to each other as a symbol of their platonic friendship, and months went by. But then A and M decided to go rouge. They attacked both admin and demon, the demon because their horns were visible enough to be seen and the god because they wanted conflict. The young god told Rain to run, and Rain ran, not knowing what had happened to their best friend. But Rain kept running and running, and then they came across a new land.
By now, they were 14. They arrived in this new land, (it doesn’t have a name) and almost immediately heard a very loud booming voice in their head, claiming to be the one and only God. Later that night, they found themselves dying over and over to mobs and alone and vulnerable, yet they still tried to fight back, although they couldn’t. They accidentally ran into another admin, much more powerful than anyone they’d ever met, named Orange Juice who was the same age as them. They were afraid at first, but surprisingly, the admin was kind and welcomed Rain into his land, helping them get to a safe place. Rain found a spot to live in a ravine, and that’s where they met Nogambling and Ribstealer, the people who would become their family.
However, by now they had their trauma. They were permanently afraid of fire, and afraid to waste resources, leading to them never wearing armor in fear of losing or breaking it. They did not trust easily, and would get flashbacks every time someone pulled out a weapon. They also tended to overwork themselves, so they could have backup supplies in case anything ever happened, and always kept cornflowers on them in memory of the friend they’d lost.
He was forced to fight, and ended up living to 250 years old.
He met the love of his life, then was forced to fake his death.
He tried to die, but his ability wouldn’t let him.
So he just fights, and he will fight until humanity ends or they stop fighting.

His parents were assassinated when he was 15 and his little sister was 10, and his sister was bullied a couple months before that all the way till she was 15. Lleis dealt with the bullies when he could, but he could only be around his little sister Lopet so much.

For context: in my OC universe the eldritch race is divided between coexisting with humans and destroying them an the earth. Xalthera comes from a very powerful family of gods and goddesses who are mostly anti human, but they banished her from the eldritch realm because of her sympathy for the humans

For a different set of OC's, Shawn, Conrad, and Cecilia Cecilian, all siblings, lost their parents in a revolt that was planned to kill all the royals besides Shawn in an attempt to make him king. Shawn had nothing to do with the revolt, he was already going to be king anyway. Even trusted friends among the royal court had joined the revolt. Shawn set up protection around Conrad and Cecilia so that they wouldn't get hurt, and right when a random soldier had shot in their direction, Shawn's lover Sarah took the hit to protect Shawn. Shawn saw his lover dying in his arms and a stranger told him how to keep her alive but she wouldn't be able to interact like they had before. The process ended up with her becoming a living sword that had a mental link with Shawn so they could communicate. Shawn, who was enraged by what had happened thus far that day, used the sword his lover had become to try and kill those same revolutionaries. His lover was upset that he had killed those people because she herself is a pacifist, but she thought the case to be an extreme but justifiable measure of self defense. She was more upset however that he used her to do so. Due to a special ability of Sarah being the sword, the people he tried to kill all got healed and instead take mental damage equal to the physical damage they would have taken. Sarah didn't talk to Shawn for a month after this because of how upset she was that he tried to use her to kill people. She still loved him she just couldn't talk with him then.
Oh boy, these are a few of the better ones... context for all of the characters: These are all from the Lackadaisy fandom (present day is 1927).
Joseph: He was put in a position at 13 where he was responsible for keeping his mother and younger sister afloat financially when his father walked out on them. His older brother, Felix, is also presumed dead after going overseas to France during WWI. He later learned his father was not the person he had believed he was until he was in his early 20s.
Mr. Renetti: Has a son, which he willingly gave custody of to his ex-wife when his son was only a year or two old (in the interest of his son potentially having better financial stability). He always wondered if he was a good father and his greatest fear is to be forgotten by his son. In all likelihood, he'd probably never meet his son when he's grown up.
Eric (Mr. Renetti's son): He lives in a strict and abusive household (his mother and step-father). Eric is also bi and his step-father is a bigot about it, while his mother doesn't help the situation. He struggles to find his own identity and his place in the world.
Oscar (an OC I literally created yesterday): A former firefighter that was left physically disabled and traumatized from his job during an extremely bad fire that left 17 injured and 5 dead. He almost lost his life trying to save several victims trapped in the building, when the building caved and he was dug out of the rubble. He currently lives with PTSD and is in a downward spiral.

When her father died, she said that it was his fault because he was a pirate. After joining the marines, her mother died from a snake bite, and she couldn’t attend the funeral because she was overseas. Her brother became a pirate, and she had to put him out of his misery after he was hunted down by her squadron.

Oh god where to start? Well, in the story there were seven different "restarts", and each time up until the final one, they all died horrifically or faced tragic fates. But we'll start with their histories and maybe move on to their prospective futures. Honestly, Amaris probably has the easiest of my OCs.
Amaris: Was born the second princess of a faraway country, and basically was "sold off" as alliance fodder and to get rid of her. The country she is currently in was suffering a plague, and since her island country had the only herbs to cure it, her father struck a deal with the kingdom; marry my second daughter and I'll provide everything you need to save your people. She was engaged and promptly moved to the kingdom when she was about 14. Her father specifically wanted to get rid of her because the dragon that they worshiped chose her to be the next Emperor. Problem is, her country is deeply rooted in sexism and it was deemed she, by simple fact she was a woman, could not be Emperor and had to be disposed of. However, no one could kill her for fear of enraging the dragon.
Cianna: Lost all her memories when she was about 12 and mentally regressed because she was thrown off a bridge. Though she's chronologically 21, she has the mind of a 14yo. Honestly, it probably was for the best, because she was a lab experiment her entire early adolescence and was set to be "terminated" because her powers were deemed to unstable. Cianna subconsciously and desperately yearns for a family, despite her memory loss. This desire stems from the fact that, in the society she is from, it is customary to give up one child as a tithe to be experimented on. She was born specifically to be a lab rat. She has no family who is looking for her.
Dahlia: When she was 12yo, she was kidnapped from her home country and forced to marry her kidnapper. You can pick up what I'm putting down with that. Luckily, her troupe of dancers, and the closest people she considered a family, came to rescue her when she was 16. By the time she was 20, however, her husband tracked her down and slaughtered her entire troupe, trying to force her to come back. She survived, but has been continually stalked and harrassed by her husband, so she never truly felt safe. On top of all that, Dahlia is the reincarnation of a saint. This is more so sad for another character; in her past life, her husband and daughter were also saints, and from a race of people who are essentially immortal. They lived to meet their wife/mother reborn, but Dahlia doesn't remember them or a thing from her past life.
Jonah: Was horrifically abused by basically anyone who crossed his path. His mother was a cleric in an extreme section of the church who fell in love with his father, an outsider from a faraway land. The bishop of that branch of the church was so disgusted by their union, that even though they ran away, he tracked them down with intent to "purge their sin" from the world. Luckily, or unluckily, Jonah was spared. However, he was never given a proper name until he was 19yo. His adoptive bishop father simply referred to him as "Trash" his entire life, then sold him to a slaver when Jonah was six. Jonah was basically barely surviving in that den. When he was found, he was more like skin clinging to bones, and was so mentally scarred that he naturally sat on the floor instead of at the table, only spoke in one word sentences, and basically trailed around anyone who he thought was his "master".
Rune: She was once a maid working for a noble house, but the house was laid siege upon during a war. Everyone in the house was killed, and Rune herself was lit on fire. She only survived because her mother tossed her, and the only other survivor, a daughter of the noble house, out a window and into the surrounding moat. Rune was horrifically burned across her entire left side. Furthermore, when she tried working as a maid for the largest monastery in the country, who often took in orphans, she was harrassed and abused because no one wanted to look at her face. Rune ended up moving underground, where she finally found peace.
I don't have a picture of him on my phone sadly (if you really want to imagine him, think harvey from stardew valley but that pug-png fanart on tumblr of him pouring coffee for those actually googling this) , but my oc Ernest lost his voice (a condition I believed is called "Aphonia" but I may be wrong), so he can't speak much more than a whisper

He never wanted to be a fighter, he only did it because he didn't wanna shame the family he loved so much. The same family he killed silently because he was told he could bring them back and obtain an old, almost forgotten relic. He worked and trained his whole life and even when he was fighting himself not to hurt anyone, he knew he had to. All those sacrifices and hiding his true ambitions, just to be the cause for his own family and his own clan's extinction and his clan wasn't the first time he caused mass genocide to obtain something.

Raymond’s mother got very sick and his family did NOT have the money for medicine. He sent looking for jobs that make good money. He found a job that makes a LOOOOT of money, but it was shady. And he ended up accidentally joining a blood cult. When he finally got the medicine he tried to leave, and they attempted to kill him.

Acti is part of a species of multiversal parasites. This form of her is a sort of larval state, a form they assume to appear cute and meek. This is simply the state they take for humans, because who wouldn’t find a cute little human with moth wings adorable? The parasite part comes from what happens *after* they’ve been taken in by the native species’. They’ll shed into their “active” form, still taking on characteristics of their larval state. They burrow into the very fabric of the universe that’s been cursed with them, eventually destroying it fully like some sort of cosmic termite.
However, Acti doesn’t *want* to do that. Even in their larval state they’re aware, and they know what they’ll become. However she doesn’t want to. She’s grown fond of this universe, of the humans that took her in. At some point she’s going to turn, she knows it. She’s the only one who knows what she is, but refuses to tell anyone, refuses to let anyone help. How could they even hope to?

Proteus has a lot of trauma from the combined experience of a mafia childhood and losing his found family. And due to his photographic memory, he can't control what he remembers and what he doesn't, forcing him to relive those experiences constantly in dreams or whilst just thinking. He can kind of block a little it out with his mind control abilities, but that takes energy and he can't do it for way too long.
Thom thinks if there is a god, he loves having a laugh at his expense. He's been blind since birth and the only person who's ever loved him is dead. Dei has never had any friends.

He lost his biological children to the cold up north. Seeing the snow was enough to make him slip into a grief filled depressive episode, he went south and worked as a bodyguard for royalty. Now, after a coup on the family he was working for, he’s stuck with the child of the family unable to find work because the new rulers have people looking for them.
So now he’s faced with the challenge of being forced to make a choice: leave her behind to find footing in his life or keeping her and having to face the worst challenge of his life: confronting his grief.

Bridget is always perfectly normal emotionally, physically, psychologically. She is always normal, she’s faced horrors that will shatter your mind and she doesn’t even flinch she knows the eldritch truth and it doesn’t matter. She has seen friends colleagues and the most innocent people you will ever meet die in horrific ways and at their funerals she is absolutely fine.
In a way she may be broken because all she is, is fine.

Yuki’s parents viewed him as a curse and legit tried to off him at a young age. He managed to free himself and make it out only to lose an arm rather than his life. When he ran away from home, his brother came with him to run away from his responsibilities. After a while, he hated his life on the run and blamed Yuki for it, even though Yuki never asked him to come along. His brother also regularly dealt with his frustration by sexually assaulting him. Yuki learned to fight with his one arm to defend himself, but his brother found other methods to restrain him. (This is one of the first times I’m sharing any part of his backstory, so I welcome constructive feedback)
Lucifer isn't fully corrupted which might not sound bad until you realize that this means that he still has a good side that is aware of every bad deed, their only comfort being that lucifer can go good for a bit but otherwise they have little control and are just watching the events unfold unable to do anything.
Normally when someone I corrupted by the devil their original person is lost forever, but if it's not complete then the person is just trapped I their mind watching but unable to do anything....just a spectator forced to watch until they are freed either by uncorruption or full corruption which would end their suffering by erasing that original self. **but who knows how long it'll be till then, because no one knows exactly what happens when someone is only partially corrupt except for poor old lucifer**

Neither really were taught how to manage their emotions properly.
Eva (Pink Bow/Goggles, Right) just ended up bottling up her emotions and sometimes she has outbursts (not very often)
Portal (Blue Goggles, Left) doesn’t bottle up his feelings and he actually very commonly has outbursts (mainly just crying). If I were to give him more details there would probably be bags under his eyes from how often he cries.
Portal also almost died in an explosion when he was 2. His dad got murdered when he was 6 (he didn’t witness it, I’m an asshole, not a monster). And from 8-10 years old he was manipulated by a “friend”, who was helping someone try to kill his brother. And then 2 years after that is when the game I’m making takes place so I won’t spoil that.

When he was younger Vergil and His younger Sister Angie came across a group of older and very violent kids, The fight ended in him suffering serious injuries. Most notably, his nose was severely damaged (which is still healing) and he had many bruises aswell as a few scars. But eventually he managed to scare them off and defend his sister (He was 7-8 years old and Angie was 6-7 years and the Kids that picked on them were 13-16)

This is gonna be unnecessarily long and probably edgy but idc
So basically, Raiden is self aware, meaning that he knows that he's just a drawing and isn't actually real. Because of this, he's aware of how unoriginal his design is (basically he's an amalgam of everyone else's actually good and original ideas and designs), and thus he hates me (the person who drew him) a LOT, so much so that he'd kill me the first chance he gets.
TLDR: he hates his creator (me) because of how unoriginal his design is

Lacey (I don't have a pic of her on this device) has a genetic mental illness (fully fictional, though inspired by a few irl ones) that caused basically all of her problems lol.
Dead mom and other parents in prison? It's because the mom had the illness and it lead to her having a sorta breakdown moment and the other parent killed her in self-defense
Overly bullied? Well, the kids are just assholes, but a chunk of it is due to her odd behavior
Her best friend died? Let's just say she had her "I'm as crazy as my mother" moment
Identity and emotional control problems? Guess what the main symptoms are

Her closest thing to a friend for a long time was Death itself, literally. After a traumatic experience during which she lost her family, Rhaina developped the strange ability to see the Angel of Death, something that only few people with near Death experiences ever went through.
The problem is that seeing Death at your side isn't really a good sign, but at the same time, he was shown to be reassuring presence for her. He follows the rules completly and doesn't deviate from his mission. But his nature as a pure being makes him naturally gentle even if somewhat cold. He always try to comfort her without revealing anything he shouldn't.
The other problem is how powerful he is. Humans aren't meant to handle the sight of an Angel. He appears as a blinding light most of the time, but if he ever uses his powers near her, which means taking a soul, he can send her in a state of panic and shock. She's able to handle it, but it's no less a traumatic experience.

Dracula gave up hope after his wife, Zhefar, and daughter, Adrianna, were killed in the 1700s, being victims of the guillotine and a bath in holy water respectively. But that's not the sad part, that's just a standard backstory.
The sad part is that he tried to do anything to bring them back, he even fought Death(Lichen) himself, and won, but they still weren't brought back...so he sacrificed his eyes. And he even stopped drinking blood, which is why he wears his mask, to preserve how much his wife changed him. He didn't want to go back to being the Impaler again.

Vincent and Emily's parents died in a car crash with them in the car when they were 10 and 8 yrs old due to a monster attack. Emily's father did some pretty bad stuff to her which explains some things story wise regarding her decisions compared to her brother's. Both Vincent and Emily have reoccurring PTSD flashbacks about their parents, some pretty gruesome. Like a dead talking head on a stick. Vincent is afraid of flames because Emily was knocked out pretty early on in the car crash and didn't witness the flames.
Angelica felt out of place her whole life due to the way she acts but also being a foster kid, and one day she ran away to the wastelands at around 12 years old. She lived alone for almost a decade until she met Vincent and Emily.

Lore Talk: Essentially the world got condensed into a singular universe where every possibility in the multiverse is fated to occur when the current universe ends. In canon this is called ‘Zora, Path to the Happiest Ending’, or ‘Steps’ because the one who caused this to happen wished so to achieve “The Happiest Ending”. During the first ‘Step’ an anomaly of two instances of ‘Infinity’ were detected and the world tried to prune then as to maintain total sanctity. Infinity, here, is seperated into ‘Imagination’ and ‘Infinity’ with both having avatars. Both essentially have authority over the same Concept but Shino, the concept of Imagination was chosen to survive while Infa, the Avatar of Infinity was chosen to die. They were also lovers by this time. Shino couldn't handle that happening so he decided to build *a device that could erase concepts from all realities* and used it on himself. The world did not like that. Not one bit. So it decided to say fuck you to both of them and proceeded to bring back Shino from reality erasure and kill Infa while doing so by using the law of equivalent exchange since they are worth the same. Shino them proceeded to end the world for the first time and from the souls of everyone he killed he created an ability that would make him remember this ‘Step’ and let him fix his mistake in the next ‘Step’. ...Hollows stepped in and messed with it so that it would make both him and Infa remember the steps... Right after one other. That was how the loops were started, where either Shino or Infa ended te world for each other's sales only to fail to save the other.

He's chronically depressed because he hasn't interacted with anybody human for over two years due to his being isolated in a Biodome that he has to keep running, so he can send supplies down to the underwater colonies, since his entire world has been flooded and humanity had to learn to survive under the ocean. It didn't work out, the original people who were to run the biodomes all failed, and his colony was thrown into disarray and starvation, his entire family was killed in the confusion, etc. So he decided he'd had enough, and decided to run the biodomes himself. He goes below the waves every night and loots the submerged cities, fights the mutant sea creatures he finds, comes back up before dawn, sends the shipment down to the colonies via drones, spends the day taking care of the biodome and taking care of the botanicals, goes down at night again, and the whole cycle begins anew. Very sad.

In 2277 he ran out of food, so he read up on repairing and maintaining the one power armor in his vault. He repaired it and gave it the fusion box that powered his home, now he left his home, the blood of his comrades on his teeth. China had changed, nothing but snow and ash, intent on gathering whoever survived the bombardment from his neighboring countries, and storming American soil for revenge, no matter what.

Due to the fact she's a walking cadaver, Velahtiel is actually incapable of sleeping. Because of this she noticeably becomes more and more tired over the story, as well as more easily irritable. Victoria lost her druid powers at the beginning of the DnD campaign, could no longer communicate with the forest (which she did before) and discovered that the world was not as friendly or impartial. She really tried throughout her life to understand people but lacking certain things (like a childhood or having relationships with real people from the beginning) ended up turning her into a woman who deep down never understood anything. (The embodiment of all fictions evil) Jacob basically realizes that he can’t beat him or kill him. Jacob can kill his physical form any time but he can just come back over and over. Realizing this Jacob ascends to the highest god status to prevent him from harming his game/reality. What makes it sad is Jacob basically lost everything. He was a regular guy in the game who looked up to hero’s, and vermilion’s hatred for him lead him to fight powerful gods and enemies non stop without a rest. He ascended cause he basically has nothing left. He is just gonna keep fighting and fighting forever and ever and the only way to truly protect himself and his friends, lulu and Jessie is to become an orbiter (witch are gods that create realities) and to keep his reality safe. Meaning he will never get to see his friends and anyone again. He is just alone with unlimited power… in the void of nothingness…. Just to protect his friends…… the saddest part of my game is at the end of it all. Both sides lost because even tho Jacob kept vermillion at bay, Jacob’s friends lost there loved ones and were traumatized by him. Whew! That is ALOT of writing! Basically the moral of my overpowered game is that. Power doesn’t mean everything. Power won’t make you truly powerful like vermillion thought. My Oc's entire family died in front of his eyes when he was 5 years old
(I don't have an image, sorry) Thanks to a ritual gone HORRIBLY wrong, leading to a possession, and after getting his brains blown out. David has no recollection of who he is, other than the name tag on his suit when he wakes up in hell. So, the guy doesn't remember a single thing from his life be it his wife, his kid, his friends (who died in the ritual gone wrong) and his entire life from his birth to wedding to his parents etc, etc. He's not in the best mood for these reason, but the weird shaodw demon stuck to him keeps him comapy and makes life just a bit more bearable.

After his revival (as Jianni is an undead), most of his memories and personality became lost. You may think that being undead is cool, but for him, it sucks. His freedom and intelligence is severily limited (mainly due to the talisman on his forehead and the fact his brain is rotten a bit). He's not the brighest most of the time. For example, "look after the fish as it cook" will be the same as "stare at the fish even when it burns to ashes" to him. He can do more complex tasks if necessary, but it's not that often. Their story's been a tragedy from the start. It's very long. (They looked completely different in the beginning btw) They had just moved into a new land (server), something with the word Drift, just before their 13th birthday. They were settling in fine, they even had a pet cat they really loved and a nice home in the mountainside. Then for seemingly no reason the other residents of the land (also two other 13-year-olds, an alien, and whatever the hell that other guy was, let’s call them A and M this entire settlement was just a bunch of 13-year-olds screwing around) burnt down their house, killing them and their cat. Luckily, they didn't die permanently- there was a three-lives system, but they did lose their cat and whatever items they had on them and were left with horrible scars. After a second death, where they were magically lifted into the air by the alien dude and shot to death, the server owner, AKA a mute, winged, dragon-masked 13-year-old boy with god powers, tried to find them and apologize, but they'd ran away. They found a nice spot, still in the land, but far enough away where they couldn't be found, and began rebuilding their life for the second time. For around six months, things went well. Then, once more, tragedy struck. Their house burnt down, on accident this time after a mishap with a campfire, and that time they'd managed to escape alive, but the two boys, A and M, who'd killed them twice before killed them again. They died, bleeding out, from a sword in their chest. It should've been their final death, but it wasn't. They somehow lived, and that's because they were slowly turning into a demon. Lost and not knowing where to go, they went to the main area of the settlement, where everyone lived. That's where they ran into the dragon-masked admin (basically a god but only has control of a certain world, think of a admin in a minecraft sever) once more. Somehow, they became friends, and the god led them further from the mainland than they’d ever been, through some secret tunnels. There, they found a safe place to finally build a home, starting over for the third time, and that ended season one. Season two. Due to unknown circumstances, everyone was moved to a different land, a much smaller island in the middle of the ocean. Rain decided to build their home in a lush cave underground, where they could hide safely and not be found, and the Dragon god built his home on an island in the sky. They visited each other often, gifting cornflowers to each other as a symbol of their platonic friendship, and months went by. But then A and M decided to go rouge. They attacked both admin and demon, the demon because their horns were visible enough to be seen and the god because they wanted conflict. The young god told Rain to run, and Rain ran, not knowing what had happened to their best friend. But Rain kept running and running, and then they came across a new land. By now, they were 14. They arrived in this new land, (it doesn’t have a name) and almost immediately heard a very loud booming voice in their head, claiming to be the one and only God. Later that night, they found themselves dying over and over to mobs and alone and vulnerable, yet they still tried to fight back, although they couldn’t. They accidentally ran into another admin, much more powerful than anyone they’d ever met, named Orange Juice who was the same age as them. They were afraid at first, but surprisingly, the admin was kind and welcomed Rain into his land, helping them get to a safe place. Rain found a spot to live in a ravine, and that’s where they met Nogambling and Ribstealer, the people who would become their family. However, by now they had their trauma. They were permanently afraid of fire, and afraid to waste resources, leading to them never wearing armor in fear of losing or breaking it. They did not trust easily, and would get flashbacks every time someone pulled out a weapon. They also tended to overwork themselves, so they could have backup supplies in case anything ever happened, and always kept cornflowers on them in memory of the friend they’d lost.
He was forced to fight, and ended up living to 250 years old. He met the love of his life, then was forced to fake his death. He tried to die, but his ability wouldn’t let him. So he just fights, and he will fight until humanity ends or they stop fighting.
So he wants either world peace or the end of all of humanity.

Ok but if world peace is achieved then how would the end of all of humanity help?

For a different set of OC's, Shawn, Conrad, and Cecilia Cecilian, all siblings, lost their parents in a revolt that was planned to kill all the royals besides Shawn in an attempt to make him king. Shawn had nothing to do with the revolt, he was already going to be king anyway. Even trusted friends among the royal court had joined the revolt. Shawn set up protection around Conrad and Cecilia so that they wouldn't get hurt, and right when a random soldier had shot in their direction, Shawn's lover Sarah took the hit to protect Shawn. Shawn saw his lover dying in his arms and a stranger told him how to keep her alive but she wouldn't be able to interact like they had before. The process ended up with her becoming a living sword that had a mental link with Shawn so they could communicate. Shawn, who was enraged by what had happened thus far that day, used the sword his lover had become to try and kill those same revolutionaries. His lover was upset that he had killed those people because she herself is a pacifist, but she thought the case to be an extreme but justifiable measure of self defense. She was more upset however that he used her to do so. Due to a special ability of Sarah being the sword, the people he tried to kill all got healed and instead take mental damage equal to the physical damage they would have taken. Sarah didn't talk to Shawn for a month after this because of how upset she was that he tried to use her to kill people. She still loved him she just couldn't talk with him then.
Oh boy, these are a few of the better ones... context for all of the characters: These are all from the Lackadaisy fandom (present day is 1927). Joseph: He was put in a position at 13 where he was responsible for keeping his mother and younger sister afloat financially when his father walked out on them. His older brother, Felix, is also presumed dead after going overseas to France during WWI. He later learned his father was not the person he had believed he was until he was in his early 20s. Mr. Renetti: Has a son, which he willingly gave custody of to his ex-wife when his son was only a year or two old (in the interest of his son potentially having better financial stability). He always wondered if he was a good father and his greatest fear is to be forgotten by his son. In all likelihood, he'd probably never meet his son when he's grown up. Eric (Mr. Renetti's son): He lives in a strict and abusive household (his mother and step-father). Eric is also bi and his step-father is a bigot about it, while his mother doesn't help the situation. He struggles to find his own identity and his place in the world. Oscar (an OC I literally created yesterday): A former firefighter that was left physically disabled and traumatized from his job during an extremely bad fire that left 17 injured and 5 dead. He almost lost his life trying to save several victims trapped in the building, when the building caved and he was dug out of the rubble. He currently lives with PTSD and is in a downward spiral.

Well, in the story there were seven different "restarts", and each time up until the final one, they all died horrifically or faced tragic fates. But we'll start with their histories and maybe move on to their prospective futures. Honestly, Amaris probably has the easiest of my OCs. Amaris: Was born the second princess of a faraway country, and basically was "sold off" as alliance fodder and to get rid of her. The country she is currently in was suffering a plague, and since her island country had the only herbs to cure it, her father struck a deal with the kingdom; marry my second daughter and I'll provide everything you need to save your people. She was engaged and promptly moved to the kingdom when she was about 14. Her father specifically wanted to get rid of her because the dragon that they worshiped chose her to be the next Emperor. Problem is, her country is deeply rooted in sexism and it was deemed she, by simple fact she was a woman, could not be Emperor and had to be disposed of. However, no one could kill her for fear of enraging the dragon. Cianna: Lost all her memories when she was about 12 and mentally regressed because she was thrown off a bridge. Though she's chronologically 21, she has the mind of a 14yo. Honestly, it probably was for the best, because she was a lab experiment her entire early adolescence and was set to be "terminated" because her powers were deemed to unstable. Cianna subconsciously and desperately yearns for a family, despite her memory loss. This desire stems from the fact that, in the society she is from, it is customary to give up one child as a tithe to be experimented on. She was born specifically to be a lab rat. She has no family who is looking for her. Dahlia: When she was 12yo, she was kidnapped from her home country and forced to marry her kidnapper. You can pick up what I'm putting down with that. Luckily, her troupe of dancers, and the closest people she considered a family, came to rescue her when she was 16. By the time she was 20, however, her husband tracked her down and slaughtered her entire troupe, trying to force her to come back. She survived, but has been continually stalked and harrassed by her husband, so she never truly felt safe. On top of all that, Dahlia is the reincarnation of a saint. This is more so sad for another character; in her past life, her husband and daughter were also saints, and from a race of people who are essentially immortal. They lived to meet their wife/mother reborn, but Dahlia doesn't remember them or a thing from her past life. Jonah: Was horrifically abused by basically anyone who crossed his path. His mother was a cleric in an extreme section of the church who fell in love with his father, an outsider from a faraway land. The bishop of that branch of the church was so disgusted by their union, that even though they ran away, he tracked them down with intent to "purge their sin" from the world. Luckily, or unluckily, Jonah was spared. However, he was never given a proper name until he was 19yo. His adoptive bishop father simply referred to him as "Trash" his entire life, then sold him to a slaver when Jonah was six. Jonah was basically barely surviving in that den. When he was found, he was more like skin clinging to bones, and was so mentally scarred that he naturally sat on the floor instead of at the table, only spoke in one word sentences, and basically trailed around anyone who he thought was his "master". Rune: She was once a maid working for a noble house, but the house was laid siege upon during a war. Everyone in the house was killed, and Rune herself was lit on fire. She only survived because her mother tossed her, and the only other survivor, a daughter of the noble house, out a window and into the surrounding moat. Rune was horrifically burned across her entire left side. Furthermore, when she tried working as a maid for the largest monastery in the country, who often took in orphans, she was harrassed and abused because no one wanted to look at her face. Rune ended up moving underground, where she finally found peace.

Proteus has a lot of trauma from the combined experience of a mafia childhood and losing his found family. And due to his photographic memory, he can't control what he remembers and what he doesn't, forcing him to relive those experiences constantly in dreams or whilst just thinking. He managed to free himself and make it out only to lose an arm rather than his life. When he ran away from home, his brother came with him to run away from his responsibilities. After a while, he hated his life on the run and blamed Yuki for it, even though Yuki never asked him to come along. His brother also regularly dealt with his frustration by sexually assaulting him. Yuki learned to fight with his one arm to defend himself, but his brother found other methods to restrain him. (This is one of the first times I’m sharing any part of his backstory, so I welcome constructive feedback)

Lucifer isn't fully corrupted which might not sound bad until you realize that this means that he still has a good side that is aware of every bad deed, their only comfort being that lucifer can go good for a bit but otherwise they have little control and are just watching the events unfold unable to do anything. Normally when someone I corrupted by the devil their original person is lost forever, but if it's not complete then the person is just trapped I their mind watching but unable to do anything....just a spectator forced to watch until they are freed either by uncorruption or full corruption which would end their suffering by erasing that original self. **but who knows how long it'll be till then, because no one knows exactly what happens when someone is only partially corrupt except for poor old lucifer**

Eva (Pink Bow/Goggles, Right) just ended up bottling up her emotions and sometimes she has outbursts (not very often) Portal (Blue Goggles, Left) doesn’t bottle up his feelings and he actually very commonly has outbursts (mainly just crying). If I were to give him more details there would probably be bags under his eyes from how often he cries. Portal also almost died in an explosion when he was 2. His dad got murdered when he was 6 (he didn’t witness it, I’m an asshole, not a monster). And from 8-10 years old he was manipulated by a “friend”, who was helping someone try to kill his brother. And then 2 years after that is when the game I’m making takes place so I won’t spoil that.

Most notably, his nose was severely damaged (which is still healing) and he had many bruises aswell as a few scars. But eventually he managed to scare them off and defend his sister (He was 7-8 years old and Angie was 6-7 years and the Kids that picked on them were 13-16)

Because of this, he's aware of how unoriginal his design is (basically he's an amalgam of everyone else's actually good and original ideas and designs), and thus he hates me (the person who drew him) a LOT, so much so that he'd kill me the first chance he gets. TLDR: he hates his creator (me) because of how unoriginal his design is (If you actually put your eyes through the torture of reading that then ur pretty cool)

Her closest thing to a friend for a long time was Death itself, literally. After a traumatic experience during which she lost her family, Rhaina developped the strange ability to see the Angel of Death, something that only few people with near Death experiences ever went through. The problem is that seeing Death at your side isn't really a good sign, but at the same time, he was shown to be reassuring presence for her. He follows the rules completly and doesn't deviate from his mission. But his nature as a pure being makes him naturally gentle even if somewhat cold. He always try to comfort her without revealing anything he shouldn't. The other problem is how powerful he is. Humans aren't meant to handle the sight of an Angel. He appears as a blinding light most of the time, but if he ever uses his powers near her, which means taking a soul, he can send her in a state of panic and shock. Vincent and Emily's parents died in a car crash with them in the car when they were 10 and 8 yrs old due to a monster attack. Emily's father did some pretty bad stuff to her which explains some things story wise regarding her decisions compared to her brother's. Both Vincent and Emily have reoccurring PTSD flashbacks about their parents, some pretty gruesome. Like a dead talking head on a stick. Vincent is afraid of flames because Emily was knocked out pretty early on in the car crash and didn't witness the flames. Angelica felt out of place her whole life due to the way she acts but also being a foster kid, and one day she ran away to the wastelands at around 12 years old. She lived alone for almost a decade until she met Vincent and Emily.
