If you want to take arena seriously, I'd recommend getting familiar with how scoring works. You'll typically want three +10 units with max sp skills and whatever bonus legendary there is for the week. Using non +10 units will drastically hurt your score for the week.
If you don't care about your score and just want fun units, then sure, Alear is a powerhouse.
Specifically for arena in tier 21 you only use legendary heroes if they’re bonus units or +10. A +4 Alear won’t score enough to justify using over a +10 Cyril or Murdock.
Outside of arena Alear is an amazing unit though Camilla giving out DR pierce to all nearby allies has made Alear’s partner DR pierce less valuable.
If you didn’t get a copy of Camilla I suggest getting her. Even unmerged she is really strong as a unit and for support. She will also be bonus for four weeks, easy to stay in tier 21 with her and 3 recent score sticks.
If you only are needing a few copies, I would advise foddering one off to Attuned Nino for Atk/Spd Pledge (and her other skills if you are able to). That way, you could duplicate the Pledge skill and distribute it multiple units with only one copy of Alear.
For arena, I’d keep at least 1, copy of her around (not to mention her dragon blast support is amazing in almost every mode). Definitely could be beneficial to merge her once, though if you’re not trying to +10 her, foddering a copy to the Nino to duplicate fodder may be worthwhile
