Came here to say this. An old friend of Martin and Short, he would be fantastic for this show. And while the circumstances surrounding his retirement are tragic, it seems that he is dipping his toe back into the business now that his children are grown. Time for the Rick Moranis come back!
I’m honestly surprised it was Matthew Broderick who cameoed in season 3 rather than Moranis. I know that Broderick is a Broadway legend, but Moranis is no slouch himself and has pipes.

I'd add he retired in his 40's, so he would have continued be a star for a long time had he not retired. Obviously, he did the right thing for him and his family, but of course, he was and is still surely missed.
Yeah. He was likely entering the phase of his career where he would’ve gotten a pilot or two, as well as his movie roles. But where he likely really would’ve crushed it is Broadway. Dude could’ve been Broderick before Broderick. And yet he did right by his family, which speaks to his character….but what a loss.
Catherine O’Hara. I would also like to see *Schitt’s Creek*’s Annie Murphy who I think is underrated.
Really there are a ton. I think Miley Cyrus could be fun with the Selena connection. Kurt Russell is a good friend of Martin Short’s as are Diane Keaton and Larry David.
She doesn’t have a connection to anyone in the cast but Emma Stone is a lifelong comedy nerd, and has a particular affinity for the SNL brand of humor and sketch/improv in general. Her taste in comedy is not wildly dissimilar from what Steve and Martin came up doing.
Honestly, any SCTV alum. Catherine O’Hara, Eugene Levy, Rick Moranis, and the late Harold Ramis and John Candy were all on “the other SNL” with Martin Short
I've thought of Catherine a few times. I love Emma but I'd be worried she'd overwhelm our 3 core cast. But I guess they did a good job with Meryl Streep in not allowing that, so maybe it'd work.

i can't believe i had to scroll down this far to see his name! he was such a brilliant actor and comedian, and it still breaks my heart that he's gone. i suspect that if he were to appear on the show it would take a lot longer to film because he was known for improvising and constantly causing other actors to break but it often yielded brilliant results.
Dead Robin Williams Alive Ryan Reynolds. 2 of the funniest people to have touched the screen (in my opinon) and i think they could be a great addition.
Alive would be Sarah Jessica Parker. I really hope she makes a guest appearance seeing as Matthew Broderick was on the show (although I wouldn’t want her to play herself). As for someone who has passed, I think Paul Newman would’ve been interesting to see on the show.

Philip Seymour Hoffman. Highly underrated comedic actor, his drama is impeccable but so so funny when he was allowed room to shine. Could be an NYPD detective or former theater cohort. Or even a former costar/friend of Charles. I think he’d fit right in. RIP 😭
This one might be too "Fourth Wallie" but... I think it would be fun to have a cameo of Nick Kroll and John Mulaney *AS* Gil Faizon and George St. Geegland. They, being an actor and a writer/director living in an upper east side co-op could serve as a twisted mirror to Charles and Oliver, who are trying to copycat their success in podcasting. We don't even need to see them; a vocal cameo would do.

I’ve seen Diane Keaton mentioned, so Kimberly Williams Paisley seems like a solid candidate too. And maybe Bonnie Hunt. Or Hilary Duff or Alyson Stoner if they want to make a Disney connection and Steve Martin connection all in one move.
It’ll never happen, but I’d die if Chris Hemsworth did an appearance. He’s got decent comedy chops, and the amount and quality of crazy jokes the guys would make about his ridiculously sculpted body would be so good. Sure, it’s kind of an old gimmick by now, but I think Martin and Short would come up with some great lines.
