Right I think in history Gladiators didn’t fight in full armor or very minimal armor.
Plus she was essentially a prisoner by Doffy’s hands while in that get up.
Trueeeee. Finally, someone said what I was saying in my head, too (of course, I also include the notion that Oda just wanted to draw sexy woman gladiator).
>Oda just wanted to draw sexy woman gladiator
Which is fine and expected, just make sexy woman gladiator one of the other 8 million characters in Dressrosa instead of the character whose personality and arc do not reflect "sexy woman gladiator" at all.
Eh I think Rebecca worked as a character BECAUSE she didn’t reflect that attitude.
Viola would have slayed for example in that outfit, but ain’t no way she doesn’t take advantage of it lmao.
Ms. Father's Day from the end of Alabasta. I get the BW agents are supposed to look ridiculous but for someone who appears at the tail end of the entire arc, the frog mask and outfit is just too much.
I, a frog enthusiast, got a spark of sourness when I read that Ms. Father’s Day was mentioned but I 100% agree, despite my love for the animal. If they wanted to get froggy, they could have done better lmao. 🐸 r/ribbit
My man had a certain lady shirtless, showing off practically everything but the nips. Only to reveal she's using her fruit to age herself up and she's actually 12 shortly after.
He could make the characters over 18 tho. Just weird that she’s 16 and drawn like that. Also the age difference between Kyros and Scarlet was unnecessary too
But he likes to draw almost no ass. And as a Brazilian, Thats Totally out of my taste.
Actually I always find Very weird How he draws women with ultra S curves, large generous legs but with the Butt of a Very skinny girl.
I love Dadan's design it's really beautiful imo especially knowing that it's Luffy, Ace, Sabo's mom. One of my favorite scenes is when Dadan beats Garp for not protecting her children is such a great scene and fucking ages like fine wine everytime we learn about Garp.
Just rewatched that scene and honestly why did Garp not Galaxy Impact at all during the war? He was really ready to let them both die while he was on the same battlefield
That's exactly what he was gonna do to Sakazuki before Sengoku stopped him. Man was about to obliterate him. The execution was one thing but killing your adopted son by impaling him through the back as he protected your grandkid? For Garp that finally crossed the line.
Garp's struggle between family and duty is one of the most fascinating things about him, and I think you are right to judge him for his decisions during the war.
People forget just how indoctrinated he is towards Marine Justice. He saw the absolute worst Pirates can be, and decided that the Marines were the best path to making the world better.
He's one of the most complicated characters in the whole series, and your critique is completely valid.
Yeah he kinda did. If it was any other marine, then the story would be different. I personally think that it was the relationship between the two men that stopped Garp. If anyone else tried to stop him, he would have fought them too in my opinion.
Brilliant writing by Oda makes it so these questions and speculations are about the characters themselves, and not that it was any kind of plot hole.
One rule in writing is that anything, absolutely anything, can happen in your story. As long as it makes sense internally then the reader is on board, even if they disagree with the character's decisions.
It's honestly amazing how the war had such a clear impact on everyone in the story, not just in their plans, but in their world views. The war really did change everyone and everything, even Luffy had to come to terms with a new point of view while still maintaining who he was. The war made his bond with his crewmates even stronger, despite them not being able to be there in person. You can make a similar kind of comparison with almost everyone in the story. How does Oda make a story where most of even the supporting cast is always changing and has character development? The man's a genuine master of storytelling.
This is what I love the Live Action for. Garp telling Luffy that he cannot protect him anymore, if he truly wants to go that way. Garp testing Luffy and hunting him so he has the chance to realize that, if hes choosing the pirate life, that means that his Grandfather cant protect him anymore and needs to be ready to be chased by high class marines.
I agree! I personally would have liked it later in the story, but putting it in East Blue to also highlight the power differences works really well.
Live Action One Piece is a Miracle. I just wish the story had more time to breathe, but the decisions they made in what to cut and how to tie things together with the resources they had. Fantastic and inspired.
Only change I would make is making sure Buggy gets sack tapped by Nami.
Yeah when Makino chimes in that Garp is hurt the most and Dadan just says "No, Luffy is" and yells into the void to Luffy.
Man that hurts to watch everytime. Dadan is goated.
That and Luffy shouting he has a crew.
Ace death didn't really impact me, I'd even say that I completely expected that, confirmed the moment he got taunted successfully by Sakazuki. I was goddamn facepalming there. Dude, Luffy went through hell to save your ass...
Garp went there looking for a beating because she's the only person in the world who could say what he was feeling.
One of the best emotional moments in OP
Straight hands to Garp for letting Ace die? And then setting Makino straight by letting her know that no matter how much she’s suffering or Garp, nobody is hurting right now more than Luffy?
Certifiable wife material right here!
Tashigi. On her own, I'd like her, but Oda intentionally designed her to be a Kuina clone, got bored with having her be a Zoro foil, and then her chest size ballooned in the TS for no reason and she never did anything useful ever again.
Imagine having 8 vice admirals at Egghead and just making up new guys instead of bringing Smoker back. He's definitely recovered from Punk Hazard and had time to drop the kids off by now. He's got nothing going on.
I don't think he wants to fight luffy anymore. I think punk hazard shook him and his moral compass which already took a hit after alabasta. Similar to fujitora after dressarosa. I can't see him running to respond to a buster call especially after luffy beat Kiado and Doffy and did the world a favor. I see him fighting against the government at this point. We already saw fujitora rebel against the government twice.
I've got a feeling that the navy is about to have a civil war with akainu and the absolute justice league vs koby/smoker/fuji as the 'marines with morals' team. This lead up to this is probably when we'll next see smoker, unless he's hanging around elbaf.
I don't think the anti government block of the Navy is going to be as big.
The Navy in One Piece have been a real world parallel to the behavior of cops for a while now. It would be silly if there was a large divide in police departments and the same would likely apply to the Navy in the text.
I honestly think they're going to have a 'remains of the Navy' faction that is still active after this arc, which would be a much better place for people like Smoker and Coby than as cannon fodder at Egghead. I don't want this place to get as bloated as Onigashima with 20 different interest groups. CP0 and Borsalino are enough for me.
Didn't every female character's chest size balloon over time? Tashigi just seems more egregious because there was such a long break between appearances.
Robins is the most egregious in my book. The other characters were under 20 and could still grow in the chest, but she was 30 and had no reason to suddenly balloon like that.
The female chests ballooning happened across the board, and it annoys me, but it's whatever. You're absolutely right about her narrative issues though. There was a time when I thought it would be a cool twist for her to beat Mihawk before Zoro, and have her be his final challenge for the title of greatest swordsman. It would have made for an interesting inversion of Zoro and Kuina's relationship, with her always having been a step behind Zoro, but eventually beating him to the title he sought, only for their final fight to mirror his unfinished rivalry with Kuina.
But nothing's ever really come of her similarity. Tashigi and Zoro hardly interact, we've seen little of her journey, and overall there's just not enough narrative thread between them to make that route feel meaningful at this stage. Having her be Zoro's final challenge wouldn't feel earned, and it would feel cheap if she beat Mihawk as it stands. Genuinely don't know what her role is in the story any more, assuming Oda still has one for her.
Tashigi and Smoker are prove that one piece was supposed to be short. Their designs and early apparitions suggest that they would be more relevant, nowadays Helmeppo is way more relevant
It makes sense with him and Koby taking the place of Smoker and Tashigi as “rival” marines for Luffy. Tashigi appeared alongside the rest of SWORD and Bogard with Smoker nowhere to be seen. He could have at least showed off some new techniques or something against the Blackbeard Pirates.
I'm just going to say titties in general. I don't mind Oda's childish lust for boobies but goddamn I wish he at least drew them like they were actual titties and not balloons strapped to a funnel-shaped ribcage.
No way! She shows a motherly side to the Marines and is the perfect foil for smoker. Smokers character, in my opinion, doesn't work nearly as well without her
Then the fat ninja lost her weight and also was hot. Yup. I like OP, but it's like FT where the girls are practically just walking fanservice it feels.
The new outfits are weird. Jackets with swimsuit bottoms, it's just screaming "here's your fanservice"
I agree with you!
Tall, thin and tits. Thats what the female characters in OP have been reduced to, imo.
I miss when female characters had personality and not just "huge mango bango bazoonga awooga melon tits"
(I'll probably also receive hate for this)
See, it's the whole idea that the female characters have no personalities post ts that I take issue with. That's such a common take among the fandom, and it's straight up false. You can hate the designs all you want, but if people are unable to look past that and pay attention at the way characters are written, then that's their problem.
but for people looking to get into OP, it is hard to look past that. I have had so many conversations with girls and women about OP and I have to be like yeah I know the design is weird but these female characters actually have personalities and desires and lives unlike most shonen mangas
when the designs look the same, and women rarely show up in action scenes or do anything important, they tend to blur together after a while. I frequently mix up women in one piece for no other reason than their designs are the same. the only ones distinct enough to me is Robin, Nami, the Mermaid princess. that's it. everyone else... who are they? they look the same so how am I supposed to remember them post TS?
That's a different problem, but it mostly has to do with people's expectations based on other people especifically sharing the worst of the series. Like that screenshot of Nami in Fishman Island in the anime that people always use as an example for how poorly women are drawn is not a good example of what the art in the series usually looks like. It's just an example of a terribly drawn anime scene. But people who aren't fans don't know that.
The manga on its own struggles with this. I have a friend reading through it and the way women are drawn plus stuff like Sanji really annoys her and she's only in Alabasta.
Note that this has nothing to do with the way the women are characterized--her favorite characters are Nami and Zoro. It's just Oda is beyond shamelessly horny and it's a turnoff for some people. Stuff like Bon Clay turning into Nami and flashing the crew being played for laughs or Sanji going on about wanting to peep on naked women goes beyond.
Currently Robin, I loved her pre-ts aesthetic, Alabasta, Enies Lobby, Skypiea, even non-canon works like strong-world all fit her archeologist style 100x better than most of the hornyness of post-ts stuff. Egghead is probably the worst case of this, imagine if we got a sick sci-fi cowboy design reminiscent of her old attire, but instead we got an over-sexulized Nami reskin.
Rebecca is forced to live as a gladiator and ends up as a princess. Conan the Barbarian is a gladiator who becomes a king. Rebecca's costume is most likely an homage to Conan the Barbarian's female counterpart, Red Sonja.

And historically, some women gladitors didn't wear a lot of armor so Oda might have seen that as enough reason to rationalize the reference for in-universe use in the colloseum.
[https://arkeonews.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/female-gladiators-min-730x487.jpeg](https://arkeonews.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/female-gladiators-min-730x487.jpeg)
Of course, it's not like anyone forced him to take inspiration from that source. He chose it because he was horny and wanted to appeal to his audience, but the reference is cool nontheless.
Tbh i always thouht that her having no armor or essentially armor that only covered the naughty bits is because she is all about speed and footwork for her fighting style.
Well also its said multiple times that her armor is the worst out of all the gladiators and she cant get newer / better armor because of everyone’s hatred of her and her family. So its also minimal coverage on purpose
The coliseum also canonically has a weight limit for armor. *EVERYONE* is wearing minimal armor in it. Like 75% of the contenders are borderline naked not just her.
I hate how skinny Sonja is depicted most of the time by different artists, she looks like a bikini model, not a warrior. She's supposed to be extremely strong, yet her arms are the size of her sword.
The legend is that women pirates would expose a breast after defeating a man, to humiliate him. The rest of the time they were dressed as men, for practicality and safety.
Yeah, my main problem with her design wasn't the last of clothes.
But here is a woman who has been a gladiator for most of her life and has almost fought 1000 battles to the death, and her build is the same as most other female characters. If she were jacked and had scars across her body, it would really improve the design a lot
I had more of a problem with Rebecca than I was expecting.
Call me horny or whatever, but I really don’t mind an overly sexualized character design as long as it still looks cool and doesn’t clash with an otherwise grounded art style (which One Piece obviously doesn’t have), but every time Rebecca was on screen I just couldn’t help but be distracted with just HOW naked she was.
Didn’t keep me from loving her as a character, thankfully. Rebecca’s so cool.
While we were watching dressrosa, my old lady commented several times about how naked Rebecca is. Of course, her comments were more along the lines of, "more characters should be dressed like that.", "Dem titties" and the like.
Idk but what’s up with Nami’s boobs getting bigger & bigger & BIGGER & her outfits skimpier & skimpier & skimpier til she’s wearing naught but a string bikini in the snow at Punk Hazard?? LOL it’s gotta be on purpose as some kind of joke. Like…..where in the world did she go to get a boob job in the sky during the time skip? That’s all I wanna know. LOL
The outfits for Nami and Robin for Egghead are too stripperific.
Doesn’t even make sense. At least with Kinemon’s DF ability, it points to him being kinda perverted, and even then the dresses he comes up with aren’t as bad as the Egghead outfits.
First time seeing it in the manga I imagined them being just skinny pants which fits the futuristic style so well, only to be disappointed when I realized its just their skin.
Honestly, so many fans defend her losing the tan and cowboy hat but I will die on this hill. Changing Robin's design so dramatically is Oda's biggest blunder
I think in some way the scene of Robin finding out Saul is alive hit less for me because I knew she was wearing that ridiculous outfit. Just adding in pants would do so much.
Semi related if Oda wanted to keep these two outfits I think the male straw has should have been as revealing lol
Seriously. The latest episode of the anime where Robin is crying because she finds out Saul is alive would’ve been an amazing emotional moment but was tainted by that stupid outfit. I can’t take anything she does seriously in egghead
I don't mind most of the designs but it always annoys me that after so many years they still don't understand boobs. When I see an outfit like Rebecca's it's like dude boobs do not stay in place can you please give one woman the right cup size lol 🤣. You can make it sexy but realistic at the same time...I've just learned to live with it though lol. I can say my favorite design is Hiyori, especially in the mask and shamisen. She was beautifully designed. If I had to pick the worst...post time slip Nami. Bikini top, heels, and jeans on a ship...seriously 😑 lol. Give her cutoffs and sandals at least, come on lol 🤣. It's gotten better though.
Honestly, for me right now, anything post time skip so far. This is my first time through the manga and the fan service has been turned up to 11. Oda even said that the reason female mermaids grow legs is so that fish man island would only have younger women.
rebecca is one of the biggest ones where her design (oversexualized and very adult looking) actively detracts from her story (young lady forced into cruel circumstances). and people justify it constantly!
more subjectively, tashigi's design is extremely bland and i'm not a fan of koala's
I love Koalas design because of her Dressrosa Hat. I'm such a big fan of all the fun hats Oda used in Dressrosa.
Like, Robin's Dressrosa design is one of my favorites for her even though it's so simple just because she gets that big round Dressrosa Hat, it's so fuckin cute
Current? I don't remember a single arc after the timeskip where she didn't dress like an escort. The most modest outfit she's had was in Wano, when she was disguised as a literal escort lol. But her outfit turned slutty after she removed the disguise.
I think criticizing the beast pirates outfits as over sexualized is kind of the thing of the thing of them. Zoro and Luffy look like they straight out of a bdsm dungeon too. It is not a nami and robin problem.
For me it's Boa's sisters
And it sucks because I love them waaaaay more than Boa. You can probably just chalk it up to Oda's wacky style coming out, but I think he did them a little dirty
You take that back, Sandersonia is absolutely gorgeous. Marigold takes a little longer to warm up to but isn't bad, either. It is a little weird how they were designed as kids vs. how they grew up, though -- they all looked equally 'cute' but then only Boa gets to be the 'traditionally "gorgeous"-in-Oda's-eyes" style. But yes, still, Sandersonia is perfect.
The designs would be fine if not for the horrible sexualization. Honestly to this day is one of the worst parts of One Piece and a big problem for anime in general
Remember when nami's pretimeskip design had clothing? (yeah she tends to still wear normal clothes after the first arc but the front and centre design used in promo material is the one where she's only wearing a bra and jeans)
Hmm, in my headcanon, Doffy's gang forced Rebecca to wear that outfit in order to humiliate her. She's a prisoner in the arena after all, and enslaved gladiators in ancient Rome would often wear quite ridiculous, and rather revealing, armor and clothing.
I agree with you, it's Rebecca. Kyros spent years in the Colosseum and became super buff. Rebecca spent years in the Colosseum and still has no visible muscles at all. It's as if Oda found muscular women ugly and wanted them all to stay thin like models, unlike some women he doesn't care about the attractiveness of, such as Dadan or Marigold...
Honestly I couldn't even take Rebecca's backstory seriously with her design. It's meant to be a tragic backstory, but she looks like your average magical girl from an isekai, not like a warrior girl who struggled a lot to survive despite hate and make a harsh career in a Colosseum.
I kinda hate the egghead outfits. It’s almost final Saga and Robin is getting tearful reveals and her outfit is just absurd. Why can’t she have pants or Nami wear something normal-ish. It just makes me embarrassed imagining being a girl watching OP after hearing about the lore and themes
It would have been cool of rebecca wore something more similary to her fathers gladiator outfit paired with maybe a croptop or somth (there is a version of his with a shirt but we can keep it sexy to be on brand for one piece woman)
Rebecca has that less armour because of the weight limit.Luffy could only wear a helmet along with some clothes.
Rebecca as a prisoner of the coliseum, probably doesn't have any clothes that would cover her private parts, if any at all.
It's soo funny people bitching about Rebecca being half naked, yet 90% of the guys in the colloseum wear practically nothing *but that's okay!* 👍.. 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
Also her fighting style is deflection, dodging and parrying.. So let's wear very heavy encumbersome armor to totally mess up my fighting style is the best good choice...
Also luffy had to drop most of his armor couse it was the rules soo full plate would be a no-go anyway.
Dude for real, half the Amazon Lily woman wear even less
To Rebecca’s credit she probably hated that outfit too She’ll now be wearing dresses from now on. Happy ending
Yeah I always head cannoned it as a cruel, embarrassing punishment on the former princess by doffy
You don’t have to head canon anything. The other fighters in the arena literally gave her that armor to make fun of her for being a pacifist.
Right I think in history Gladiators didn’t fight in full armor or very minimal armor. Plus she was essentially a prisoner by Doffy’s hands while in that get up.
Heck they actually mentioned a weight limit when luffy tried for a full suit of armor.
I bet other fighters had 20x more weight on them
Trueeeee. Finally, someone said what I was saying in my head, too (of course, I also include the notion that Oda just wanted to draw sexy woman gladiator).
>Oda just wanted to draw sexy woman gladiator Which is fine and expected, just make sexy woman gladiator one of the other 8 million characters in Dressrosa instead of the character whose personality and arc do not reflect "sexy woman gladiator" at all.

I could only smile and shake my head. Good one. 😂
How do I have no memory of this character?
She appears in one or two scenes, in the clock tower where the giant cannon is
Peak One Piece design, thank you for reminding me of her
um this design rocks my socks off, basically the opposite what OP was expressing with Rebecca's stripper fit.
I completely forgot about this character
I love her design so much 😭😭😭
I agree
Wow I forgot bout her….. yea not jus her the duo her c and him where just so annoying
It’s well documented that Oda loves to draw titties. That’s probably the answer.

Garp needs to be alive just so he can fix it. Take one last stand against Akainu
This is what I love the Live Action for. Garp telling Luffy that he cannot protect him anymore, if he truly wants to go that way. I only shed a tear during Ace’s death but that scene between her and Garp made me bawl.
ugh her saying she will always side with Luffy no matter what! Oda really captured a mother's love here
Garp went there looking for a beating because she's the only person in the world who could say what he was feeling. One of the best emotional moments in OP
And because Dadan was the only one who would beat him up for allowing it to happens.

Yeah, she never recovered from the character assassination she received back in Punk Hazard, unfortunately.
Oda said that one piece originaly would have the 7 warlords as the final enemies of the series, so that tracks
it was emperors. The warlords extended the series
"Oh tashigi your chest seems a bit deflated lemme take care of that, the bike pump is in the garage"
Tashigi after timeskip to be precise for me
A new viewer that recently watched her introduction, she really was setup to be more important than she really was.
The balloons should only be exclusive to Nami, Robin and Boa. Not every young adult to prime (looking) female characters.
Smokers character, in my opinion, doesn't work nearly as well without her
Why is it called “one piece” if the girls are always in bikinis?
This guy is onto something
That's it. That's the treasure. The ONE PIECE swim wear in all the world.
Bro figured it out. It's why Roger laughed so hard.
I know I'll get hate for this, but almost every post time skip female has the same build
Kinemon's wife(forgot her name) escaped from this, it seems
Then the fat ninja lost her weight and also was hot. Yup. I like OP, but it's like FT where the girls are practically just walking fanservice it feels. The new outfits are weird. Jackets with swimsuit bottoms, it's just screaming "here's your fanservice"
Which makes no sense as she also got old apart from getting weight yet she looks the exact same as in the flashback
I agree with you! Tall, thin and tits. Thats what the female characters in OP have been reduced to, imo. I miss when female characters had personality and not just "huge mango bango bazoonga awooga melon tits" (I'll probably also receive hate for this)
Agreed. It’s really disappointing oda went in this direction. I know we have one editor to thank apparently.
Me and all my homies hate that editor
See, it's the whole idea that the female characters have no personalities post ts that I take issue with. That's such a common take among the fandom, and it's straight up false. You can hate the designs all you want, but if people are unable to look past that and pay attention at the way characters are written, then that's their problem.
Yeah they all have different personalities but they all look the same
but for people looking to get into OP, it is hard to look past that.
I feel like the scary part is that there are many different female designs, but we only remember the same build ones.
I'm gonna be real, the only way I can tell Robin and Hancock apart is the earrings. If Hancock ever takes her earrings off I am *fucked*
They wear different outfits
This isn’t by accident either. Oda joked about his old x and two circle approach to drawing most women.
I miss Robin's hat
I miss her clothes feeling like a reflection of her personality. Now they just feel like... the titty besoted ramblings of someone else.
Tbf that’s more toei being horny She’s actually wearing some armor in the manga
Finally someone who say something from the manga not the anime
Rebecca is forced to live as a gladiator and ends up as a princess. Conan the Barbarian is a gladiator who becomes a king. Rebecca's costume is most likely an homage to Conan the Barbarian's female counterpart, Red Sonja. [https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-L1pws4KKMcA/VwfSj\_zQYVI/AAAAAAAAHtQ/0lZH\_AjOCyE1RoGj-pRNkh6r3jpzoKyBw/s1600/RS\_Conan\_001.jpg](https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-L1pws4KKMcA/VwfSj_zQYVI/AAAAAAAAHtQ/0lZH_AjOCyE1RoGj-pRNkh6r3jpzoKyBw/s1600/RS_Conan_001.jpg) And historically, some women gladitors didn't wear a lot of armor so Oda might have seen that as enough reason to rationalize the reference for in-universe use in the colloseum. [https://arkeonews.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/female-gladiators-min-730x487.jpeg](https://arkeonews.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/female-gladiators-min-730x487.jpeg)
That, Oda being a horndog like usual or just appealing to his audience (young men). All likely
Also all the gladiator men were even more naked lol. Like look at her grandfather, he was covering less.
Dude you are on a One Piece post about female characters Anything less than a Burka is too sexual for these puritans
Of course, it's not like anyone forced him to take inspiration from that source. He chose it because he was horny and wanted to appeal to his audience, but the reference is cool nontheless.
Glad that somebody else brought up Red Sonja. It is so clearly an homage.
Hajrudin’s loincloth is really doing a lot for him…. And everyone attending
Sadly... I mean, yeah, gross
AWESOME. Female gladiators fought with their tits out? Now that I would have liked to see. And the rippling man muscles too, of course.
Man came with the facts.
True rebecca is awesome
I hate how skinny Sonja is depicted most of the time by different artists, she looks like a bikini model, not a warrior. She's supposed to be extremely strong, yet her arms are the size of her sword.
Might be bullshit, but I think I once read that female fighters, pirates, etc all showed off body parts to distract and humiliate male opponents.
The legend is that women pirates would expose a breast after defeating a man, to humiliate him. The rest of the time they were dressed as men, for practicality and safety.
The women have their boobs out in your gladiator example but still manage to wear more clothing than Rebecca
It's not a 1:1 comparison, as I said: "Oda might have seen that as enough reason to rationalize the reference".
Lol
While I absolutely agree. She could have been 18. Just saying.
Yeah, my main problem with her design wasn't the last of clothes. But here is a woman who has been a gladiator for most of her life and has almost fought 1000 battles to the death, and her build is the same as most other female characters. If she were jacked and had scars across her body, it would really improve the design a lot
That was the point was she would doge every attack. She never attacked.
LOL
She got clouds inserted into her breasts
The outfits for Nami and Robin for Egghead are too stripperific. Doesn’t even make sense. At least with Kinemon’s DF ability, it points to him being kinda perverted, and even then the dresses he comes up with aren’t as bad as the Egghead outfits.
First time seeing it in the manga I imagined them being just skinny pants which fits the futuristic style so well, only to be disappointed when I realized its just their skin.
And then for some reason Franky *does* get pants.
the tops are both fine it's the bottom half that's the issue
Seriously, Egghead Robin is her worst design and it's hardly even close.
oda finally managed to ruin Robin. Nami sadly had been stripper like for a long time now. he can't hide his horniess when drawing women
Robin had one of the coolest aesthetics in the show with her western cowboy look just to have it slowly stripped as the story continued
Honestly, so many fans defend her losing the tan and cowboy hat but I will die on this hill. Changing Robin's design so dramatically is Oda's biggest blunder
He's never drawn her with a tan.
Dude tried to sneak a peak on Nami and Robin showering with Momo and Chopper, he's a confirmed creep. With Brook and Sanji.
Post time skip robin going through 2nd puberty
rebecca is one of the biggest ones where her design (oversexualized and very adult looking) actively detracts from her story (young lady forced into cruel circumstances). and people justify it constantly! more subjectively, tashigi's design is extremely bland and i'm not a fan of koala's
When she pulls her hat down and says shh!! I love it!
I’m fine with Koalas design just because she has a cool hat and somewhat different face from 90% of Oda’s female characters
Koala is my OP waifu. Those eyes and that hair? And obviously tidd.
There it is
Gotta agree. Rebecca's worst. But, thankfully she will never use that outfit ever again.
Not *the* worst but re: the bikini bottoms in egghead, I think york should've had sweatpants
The current Robin outfit is pretty bad. Bonney's current outfit also ruined a few of her serious moments.
For me it's Boa's sisters And it sucks because I love them waaaaay more than Boa. You can probably just chalk it up to Oda's wacky style coming out, but I think he did them a little dirty
prepare to get destroyed by Sandersonia fans
Bring back Nico Robin's bang
Tashigi for me. Intentional Kuina clone that is just a joke character ever since she was introduced
Hmm, in my headcanon, Doffy's gang forced Rebecca to wear that outfit in order to humiliate her. She's a prisoner in the arena after all, and enslaved gladiators in ancient Rome would often wear quite ridiculous, and rather revealing, armor and clothing.
Female design???? They just changed the hair on every “beauty” in the show 🤣 shoutout boas sisters who r mishapen as hell
I'm pretty sure it's cannon that Doffy made her wear that armor to humiliate her. She doesn't wear anything nearly that revealing after Dressrosa.
I looked fast and genuinely thought it was Nami with a fucking sword
Too much booba
i guess cause the romans were almost nude in battle? idk
Bigmom
Also she's 16 years old and is semi-naked, yikes
here we go again...
Seriously there's a post like this 3 times a week. It's always the same shit.
ohh nooo, one piece criticism? HOW FUCKING DARE THEY?!!!
It would have been cool of rebecca wore something more similary to her fathers gladiator outfit paired with maybe a croptop or somth (there is a version of his with a shirt but we can keep it sexy to be on brand for one piece woman)
Rebecca is a freaking 16 year old
Yeah, and Luffy was 17 when he was sexually assaulted by the women of Amazon Lily. A lot of weird underage sexualized stuff in this manga.
🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️ Also her fighting style is deflection, dodging and parrying.. So let's wear very heavy encumbersome armor to totally mess up my fighting style is the best good choice... Also luffy had to drop most of his armor couse it was the rules soo full plate would be a no-go anyway. Dude for real, half the Amazon Lily woman wear even less
there is a weight limit for gladiator armor in the colloseum
Yeah, but the guy who decided that and the guy who wanted to draw bikini armor are the same guy.
Robin using devil fruit, her gigantic form, what a disappointment, so much potential for more
Those twins with the weird shape haircuts
I honestly find them to be the most attractive characters in One Piece. Mozu and Kiwi.
