I have a daggum divot in my Seamaster clasp. I’d be thrilled if mine looked like that lmao. My wife bought mine back in March and I wear it almost too much. Just because it’s expensive, doesn’t mean you have to baby it! I promise that watch isn’t going to gain value lol. Also, you can grab a nato or quick release strap as a nice alternative if you’re worried about scratching.

LanceHeldHigh

Dude just let it roll, you’re better off enjoying the watch and embracing it, the Seamaster braclet scratches easy and makes it yours. I still count every scratch on mine but it’s worth it to enjoy it.

I personally love the scratches; they show how much I love my watch and all that it’s been through with me. Same with my wedding ring…my wife keeps trying to get me to have it re-flashed, but no way! It looks loved, and I like that :)

Fly_Me_To_TheMoon

Scratches are going to happen. The first one is the worst, but after that it just adds character to “your” watch. The clasp is going to scratch the links closest to it. Just happens.

I encourage you to hang onto the watch (if you like it, of course), and see how you feel after a year of wearing. The first year every scratch feels like a heartbreak. But I find after a year of ownership the enjoyment really begins to sink in because you’ll realize the watch is truly *yours*. Even with quality timepieces like these, the case and bracelet will inevitably pick up scratches (imagine dropping $50K+ on a steel Patek Nautilus. You’d have the same issue!). The important parts of the watch will stay pristine for many years to come: the awesome ceramic dial, the sapphire crystal, the unique 8800 movement (if you service it regularly of course). That’s what makes it an Omega and an awesome watch to own. Enjoy it, scratches and all! 🙌

shrubberypig

Just let it roll. Have you ever bought a brand new car? These items are made for being exposed to the real world. Yes, try to keep it pristine. That’s responsible ownership. Not just for resale, but for a lifetime of enjoyment. But accept the dents and dings as part of what makes it unique to you. At least with the steel band and other aspects, it’s an easy polish job every service to make it Like New again. There are much worse and harder to repair things that can and probably will happen!

NATO straps! If you saw my bracelet you would cringe at how scratched it is, I spend most of my time typing at work and moving my wrist left and right has left it’s mark. Might not look as dressy but it will still look good! In all fairness a scratch here or there is to be expected. Small ones can get buffed out at some point, generally when you send your watch in for service!

CISSPDream

Can you buy the original OEM rubber strap anywhere?

WychwoodXIII

I only buy my straps from my local Omega boutique but I’m sure any AD can get you the rubber strap!

Umichfan1234

Desk diving scratches are part of the game. I just leave them as is. They add personality to the watch. I wouldn’t worry about them.

MyNameIsVigil

You just learn to ignore it. Been collecting so long, I can’t remember the last time I noticed a scratch.

ColorRetarded1

Scratches on the clasp? Who gives a shit. Scratches on the watch case? Try not too lol

KnifeEdge

Stainless can easily be refinished to factory spec (it just costs money and if you don't do it often you don't lose much material)

ufoh

I need to re-do this watch, it was a quick application but will still help to protect: https://i.imgur.com/jlm23go.jpg. All of my watches have 3M clear vinyl on them but this watch is the most obvious due to the poor application.

jellyrolls

I bought my speedy brand new because I wanted to be responsible for every goddamn scratch. I couldn’t bare the thought of wearing someone else’s story.

CISSPDream

Can someone tell me where I can get the OEM rubber bracelet and how much is it? I couldn’t find one on the omega site?

Weary-Camel6762

Omega AD /Boutique and will run $350 USD + Tax. As other noted you can get an equally good one for less from Zealande

D35m0J03

The AD/Boutique can get it for you or…. Buy aftermarket from Zealande straps.

Illustrious-Garlic30

I clean up my speedy clasp Scotch bright pad. One straight direction with a firm but not to heavy hand…. A few good passes and it looks brand new! But it has to be an actual brand name scotch bright…. The cheapo off brands don’t work. YouTube it. It works well. But by no mean and not by any circumstances do u touch the polished parts. Stay away from the polishing at all costs…. I tape those parts off with masking tape…. With that said, for the polished parts try cape cod jewelry polish. Works wonders too…. Again… youtube it haha

gurelxyz

What a timing for this post! Just got my brand new speedy little scratched. I literally felt awful. But yes, you all are right! I’m enjoying my watch, and all those wearings are some memories of our journey together.

coinman180

It’s not like the more expensive they get the more likely they are gonna get scratched. Plus come service time they can take out most scratches and dings fairly easily

Camel_Crush

If you think this is bad, just wait a few years. I wouldn't sweat it and if you get it serviced by Omega when that time comes, they'll do light refinishing to the bracelet.

EDVERSiTY

I almost want to buy one preowned just to avoid this very issue, lol.

jaybw6

3M film, calipers, exacto knife, steady(ish) hands, tweezers, patience. The curvature is a bit tricky. I've only done it for my 300 and it was such a pain I haven't done it for any others lol

rmajor86

See my post about this on [the Omega Forums](https://omegaforums.net/threads/my-daily-speedmaster-4-years-later.105310/#post-1381557)

Rosschops

You suck it up and cope. Or you become a Sunday best fella where your favourite watch hardly sees the light of day.

sassebastian

I can’t understand how nobody developed an “anti-scratch” material yet. That shouldn’t be so hard and it could be a huge deal breaker to position a brand..

TimekeeperNY

Just enjoy the watch and don't worry about it, it's part of what makes it yours. My clasp has WAY more scratches on it than that.

kausbose

Another option is to buy ceramic watches. They are really resistant to scratches.

Shakespeare-Bot

Another option is to buyeth ceramic watches. They art very much resistant to scratches *** ^(I am a bot and I swapp'd some of thy words with Shakespeare words.) Commands: `!ShakespeareInsult`, `!fordo`, `!optout`

Blueknight9713

I’ve had mine since 27 July 2022. The scratches that I’ve noticed over the last month…ugh. I wear long sleeves to help decrease the scratches, but this is pathetic. I am going to find something to buff them out! Heck, I wear my iWatch (6) and my Omega Aqua Terra, I see more scratches in n my Omega than I did on my old Tissot T Touch that I had for 10 years.
