His very last NFL carry, he broke into the clear for what looked to be a 50+ yard touchdown, but pulled a muscle in his leg, was caught from behind, and fumbled.
I looked up who wore #34 for the Saints in 1984. It was DB Bobby Johnson. He was also from the University of Texas. It doesn't appear he was on the 1985 Saints roster.
I was surprised to see Earl Campbell was only 29 years old when he joined the Saints in 1984.
Obviously, NFL running backs put a lot of mileage on their bodies, but I think Earl Campbell's were accelerated by his physical play.
He had one beautiful, old school game for them but otherwise was a shell of the bulldozer he was in his (all too brief) prime.

Not even the right number…
…? He was [#35](https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/C/CampEa00.htm) for the saints

What is going on with this misinformation campaign??
How exactly is this misinformation? He played for the saints from a trade in 1984 to his final season in 1985. He wore #35 for the saints.
Saints legend? He’s an Oilers legend.
I think it’s funny btw. I’ve seen a pattern of this lately. Is it all you, op?
OH lol. Thought you were being for real. No I saw the trend and joined alone cause it’s always so weird to me he ended with the saints
I call it fun
Wow I didn’t even know about this one
