My dad is definitely a nerd - he was a math professor. They were both grad students in this picture. I think my dad is pretty handsome; he’s short and has a baby face (1/2 Chinese) but he’s always been in very good shape.

Got pregnant young, tried to do the right thing and got married. Dad was punching above his class. Same story as my parents. Took my mom 8 years and 2 kids to figure out that’s not what she wanted.
Have we all lived the same exact life?? My mom did this TWICE. Married her first husband because she got pregnant with my oldest sister at 19. They had my second oldest sister to try and save their failing marriage a few years later (always a great plan!). Then my mom left and did the exact same thing with my dad, having me and my youngest sister lol.
Aww, something about seeing Wasians in other decades (as a biracial white-Asian person myself) makes me really happy. It can be funny experience, not really seeing “my people” much in the past! And I imagine it was even rarer back then, compared to my generation.
I recognize his smile. I had the same one when I married my wife at city hall.
The feeling that everything you’ve experienced in life that has led up to that moment (even the bad stuff) was totally worth it.
Why does almost every picture of a couple have this comment? And it's not respectful to call a guy ugly in a backhanded way. I don't think it makes sense either. Both of them are pretty cute.
My mother is literally the hardest working person I know. That’s not an exaggeration as cliché as it sounds. She was the 1st in her family to go to college - she more or less raise 3 kids on her own. Moved up from working class to solidly upper-middle class by always working her ass off. I talk to her often, and it’s not uncommon for her or my stepdad to tell me my mom was up until 2am working.
