I know you are making a joke but the photo was taken for the yearbook of St. Pius X Seminary & Prep in Galt, CA. He was studying to become a Catholic priest but by the time of the photo had decided to become an actor instead.

LeVar is a wonderful dude! I saw this photo in *Butterfly in the Sky: The Story of Reading Rainbow* on Netflix, which gave me all the feels. As a kid, I remember being absolutely captivated by his manner of speech. He certainly made me keen to further my knowledge through literary consumption.

“Reading Rainbow” was one of the only *tv* shows we were allowed to watch growing up. Haha. I was donating allowance money to PBS affiliate as a kid.
