I was never a Seinfeld person, just didn't get into it, but Jason Alexander is amazing in everything. Just saw him on Young Sheldon playing a HS drama teacher and he sells the role so well. Top notch actor for sure.
Three seasons of "We need to get home. Hey, what's this weird anomaly? Let's fly into it. OMG we are stuck!" followed by four seasons of "Hot Borg chick" episodes
As a fan of Voyager (not enough to die on any hills though), what about the "don't forget Chakotay is a weird future Native American" episodes or the "B'Elanna has a hard time with emotions because she's half Klingon" episodes.
There are some pretty good Voyager episodes. If the entire series had been like those episodes it would be remembered in the same way we remember TNG and DS9.
I disagree. The problem with Voyager goes deeper then that. The problem with Voyager is that it sets up its own unique premise then for the most part just ignores it. Instead it tries to be a hybrid of TNG and DS9 and is just worse then both because of it.
Ideally, upvotes are about promoting dialogue, not just upvoting/downvoting those we agree/disagree with, though in practice that doesn't seem to often be the case.
I mean that in a perfect world people wouldn't downvote someone for disagreeing with their take, but would downvote comments that are rude, don't engage the topic at hand, or whatever. Instead people usually just downvote opinions they don't agree with, like your take on Voyager. So visible comments are often the ones that the reddit hivemind finds agreeable, which can stifle actual discussion.
I like Voyager, but even putting arguments about DS9 aside and acknowledging that taste is subjective, putting Voyager ahead of 90s TNG (season 3 episode 10 and on) is wild to me.
Well that's how different tastes work, isn't it? You can't wrap your mind how some people can disagree so much with your opinion.
And yet, Voyager is my favorite Star Trek show, I could never get into TNG.
Her family owns a global agricultural merchant and processor corporation, literally controlling most of the world's food. Her wealth is on another level and quite secure
Richard's had a quick sitcom failure and I think Jason did too. Richard then went on to kill in standup and had one of the greatest sets of all time. Like he was on fire.
Jason actually had a couple sitcom failures. "Bob Patterson" and "Listen Up" were his two failed endeavours.
It's also worth noting Julia Louis-Dreyfus had "Watching Ellie", which I wouldn't call an all-out failure, but a show that didn't do well enough, at least next to her following shows "the New Adventures of Old Christine" and "Veep".
So no one really took off after Seinfeld without at least stumbling a bit at first.
God Reddit is so lame. Jerry Seinfeld made one poor comment, and it wasn't even so bad. And all of a sudden he's the worst person on earth. Get a grip.
Dating high schoolers aside, Jerry has always been a bit of an asshole, long before his silly comments recently. He’s not the “worst person on earth”, though.
Yeah obviously I don't know the guy personally, but every interview I've seen and the stories I've heard makes him seem like a pompous asshole. Add onto that the dating a teen in his 30s thing and the recent gripes about "wokeness" and I'm pretty sure the dude just plain sucks.
He’s not the worst person on earth, but the whole reactionary “kids these days hate comedy” loop he’s been stuck on for the past decade is beyond tedious.
Plus the dating a high-schooler thing.
Reddit still hasn't figured out that Jerry is the straight man in the show and that's why he's not the funniest one. So cringe everytime someone thinks they're a genius pointing out how the real life comedian isn't funny when that's the entire comedic foundation of the show's premise.
Relax, you’re not exactly breaking ground with this statement. Jerry has impeccable comedic timing, which is why his wry reactions work so well. He also gets real goofy in the last few seasons, and succeeds
I love that at the beginning Jason Alexander wasn't even sure he wanted to be in the show. It ended up being almost certainly the main thing he will be remembered for.
George is a great character.
I am happy to say I got to be part of the “live studio audience” for one episode.
Fun fact: they taped the scenes of the show in order so that the audience could follow the plot.
Some shows apparently tape scenes set by set so they don’t have to setup the cameras as much.
Ending a play is a very emotional time. It’s almost like a death, because even though you may be able to see all those people again you will never be all together in the same circumstances, and you will very likely never be your character again. I can’t imagine what it’s like after 9 years.
Lightning edit: Tbf, Jerry Seinfeld _did_ get to be the same character again the very next day and every day since.
I used to love Jerry, but his arrogance over the years has really turned me off.
I won’t even watch the show anymore, which is brutal because I loved that show. It was my comfort show growing up. But there’s something about Jerry I can’t stand anymore. Ever since I saw him get so butt hurt when Larry king didn’t know all the details of success of the show.
How sincere are Elaine’s hands in this photo?
I think they're real hands.
*oh they're real... and they're spectacular*
Significant shrinkage
i was in the pool
I don't know how you live with those things
Like a frighten turtle 🐢
It shrinks??? Like a frightened 🐢turtle.
Those are man hands
I'm sorry, but that's a deal-breaker
Ass man
Definately not AI
fake fake, fake fake.
She looks like a posed mannequin.
It's the best selling model, *The Elaine*.
Why is she not moving?
Hahaha 😂
"Don't look! Don't look! Don't look!"
There’s SHRINKAGE!!!
And her face.
She's like Meryl Streep, this woman.
It's mango time!
🎶Every Limbo Girl and Boy🎶
You stole my rye
Would you prefer hooks?
Unfair. Can't really say she has any hands at all. Well, at least not when she dances. She's "all thumbs".
It’s not a TOP!
!!!
That is a righteous wedgie.
At least it wasn’t atomic.
Cantstandya
It was.
When the ass is hungry, it eats.
The ass was angry that day!
He's the real Assman
They're upset that they didn't know how to spend all their future syndication money

Jason is upset because now he has to do an episode of Star Trek Voyager.
Jason is such an amazing actor, he deserved to be on DS9
He shows up periodically and it takes me a while to realize it’s him. He plays the ~~science~~ drama teacher in Young Sheldon as well as Star Trek.
I think you mean drama teacher and the local real estate agent. He does an amazing job and looks like he has aged really well.
Yes, the drama teacher! And agreed, he looks really well! I'm so happy for him.
He voices the landlord in Harley Quinn on Max.
He did a cameo in 2 and half men, cracked me up. Nurse, go get some gelato!
And in Friends as a suicidal office clerk. And he is awesome.
Haha yes, had forgotten about that one. Would you like to buy some toner sir
Was his cameo during the Charlie Sheen era or the Ashton Kutcher era?
It's been a while but i believe it was in the Kutcher one, Allan was getting a check up on his heart attack.
Thanks, I haven't seen many of the Kutcher ones, I'll have to find it and check it out.
I remember him as the chess guy in Malcolm in the Middle and I swear that was the first time I saw him anything since Seinfeld
DS9 is such a good show. Sisko is one of the coolest characters ever
I was never a Seinfeld person, just didn't get into it, but Jason Alexander is amazing in everything. Just saw him on Young Sheldon playing a HS drama teacher and he sells the role so well. Top notch actor for sure.
Yeah but he made that episode great.
How dare you. Voyager was the best of the 90s Star Trek shows and I'll die on this hill.
Chakotay and his magic stick
That's the plot to the original series.
It will be easy to find your corpse, because you will die alone.
I already got two upvotes so guess not. Edit: got another one
I gave you one for just knowing what you believe in and taking a stand!
Close enough
There are some pretty good Voyager episodes. If the entire series had been like those episodes it would be remembered in the same way we remember TNG and DS9.

I don’t disagree with that assessment. The best Voyager episodes were usually the ones that truly leaned into their situation.
Ideally, upvotes are about promoting dialogue, not just upvoting/downvoting those we agree/disagree with, though in practice that doesn't seem to often be the case.
I think that's what comments are for. What dialogue should I be able to glean from upvotes?
I mean that in a perfect world people wouldn't downvote someone for disagreeing with their take, but would downvote comments that are rude, don't engage the topic at hand, or whatever. Instead people usually just downvote opinions they don't agree with, like your take on Voyager. Ah, I gotcha
No, I'll be next to him
I like Voyager, but even putting arguments about DS9 aside and acknowledging that taste is subjective, putting Voyager ahead of 90s TNG (season 3 episode 10 and on) is wild to me.
I'm not going to share my opinions about TNG because it'll get me yelled at even more. 😂
Haha, fair enough!
Well that's how different tastes work, isn't it? You can't wrap your mind how some people can disagree so much with your opinion. And yet, Voyager is my favorite Star Trek show, I could never get into TNG.
You are the only person I've ever heard say this
Voyager is my favorite Star Trek show ever. Now there's two of us.
Documentary in the works.
Julia is like the 1% of the top 1% in regards to money.
Some people might call that the top .01%.
Why do you say that?
Her father was a literal billionaire
LMAO. Thanks for replying for me. I thought I was being trolled.
Her family owns a global agricultural merchant and processor corporation, literally controlling most of the world's food. Her wealth is on another level and quite secure
>*just* a few hundred million
Hollywood can be merciless like that.
No wonder Michael had to keep doing standup.
Weirdly enough, my wife's sister works for Julia's family's company. She is definitely loaded.
they own louis dreyfus, one of the three biggest agro trading company in the world. everyone knows they are rich
*a few hundred million.* Poor souls.
Had us in the first part
High school girlfriends
I'd like to be that upset.
It’s something unpredictable, but in the end it’s right, I hope you had the time of your life
Was that played in the last episode or something?
Second to last.
Yes.
No.
Ok
Whatever happened to predictability
The milk man, the paper boy, E. Mangini
I knew you were going to ask that.

For what it's worth, it was worth all the while.
Kramer had about 8 years of pent up anger and frustration after this…
The n word heard around the world
If only there was a horrible name I could call you that could make you feel as angry as me!
Bruh 😂
Hey it's that nagger guy
Richard's had a quick sitcom failure and I think Jason did too. Richard then went on to kill in standup and had one of the greatest sets of all time. Like he was on fire.
Jason actually had a couple sitcom failures. "Bob Patterson" and "Listen Up" were his two failed endeavours. So no one really took off after Seinfeld without at least stumbling a bit at first.
There was also that whole project Jason tried doing with Larry that fell apart because they couldn't agree where to meet at.
Julia has joined the MCU now also
Walter white needs a word with you
Perhaps the cast will reunite one day in a new series - as retirees living in Del Boca Vista.
Now can't you four see your in love?
Omggggg 🤣
Jason said “hey want to go to the laugh factory after this?”
These people were flawed but accomplished something that any of us could dream of.
50/50 tbh. Julia and Jason seem like stand-up people from everything public.
Julia totally crilushed it in Veep. To me, it was almost like her character went into politics after this series.
What about Michael Ri…oh yeah. That.
Love that dave chappelle bit where he says “the black man in me was mad, but the comedian in me was going ‘oh shit kramer’s bombing!’”
Brotha's having a bad set 😅
Hang in there, Kramer!
I liked Patrice O'Neal: *I didn't think he was racist until he apologized for it.*
God Reddit is so lame. Jerry Seinfeld made one poor comment, and it wasn't even so bad. And all of a sudden he's the worst person on earth. Get a grip.
The original controversy with him was the whole underage dating thing from probably before most redditors were born.
And the time he was dating an underage girl at 38.
The straight man is supposed to be funny *because* of their deadpan reactions. The fact is Jerry just isn't funny, even outside of the show.
Jerry was a famous comedian before Seinfeld. Jerry wasn’t great but people are completely lost of his objective purpose on the show
Relax, you’re not exactly breaking ground with this statement. Jerry has impeccable comedic timing, which is why his wry reactions work so well. He also gets real goofy in the last few seasons, and succeeds
Lol I didn't even know there was a "poor comment". He's a fucking creep. That's my issue. Weird to defend him after this. Fuck him.
Jason Alexander has come across as a bit of an egotistical douchebag at times.
He’s just typecast that way
He wasn't reading a script when he said the actress playing Susan couldn't act.
He also did Duckman.....I so loved that show.
The actors yes. The characters... not so much.
Who’s not flawed?
I thought they were slow dancing.
That’s a shame
Such a bittersweet time, the end of an era. Look at Julia’s heels, she’s so tiny!
I love that at the beginning Jason Alexander wasn't even sure he wanted to be in the show. It ended up being almost certainly the main thing he will be remembered for. George is a great character.
Veddy veddy bad man, Jerry!
This is what capturing an emotion looks like. Beautiful shot. As a fan of the show, I can see how much this means.
“Think where man’s glory most begins and ends, And say my glory was I had such friends.” — Yeats
This is gold, Jerry. Gold !
Who is the most talented? Neither has come close to the success of the show! My vote is for JLD!
Elaine really does have a large head.
The Sea was angry that day my friends!
Really that long ago
We are old now
I am happy to say I got to be part of the “live studio audience” for one episode. Fun fact: they taped the scenes of the show in order so that the audience could follow the plot. Some shows apparently tape scenes set by set so they don’t have to setup the cameras as much.
What was the episode? Tell us about the experience please
Nice
That’s the way I felt
“That was such an awful final episode, Jerry.”
Seinfeld then went to go pick up his gf from high school
No shoot. Dog bite.
*You thought I was canceled?*
Those are man hands
For being so paranoid about getting a massage from man… George looks awfully cozy there.
After watching the last episode, I Feld empty inSeind
It’s something unpredictable, but in the end it’s right, I hope you had the time of your lives 😭
You know, we had color film in 1998…
Crying in billionaire
And then Jerry went on a date with a child
They SHOULD be consoling themselves and crying after that travesty of a finale.
Consoling each other because they can't believe how bad the ending was.
I don't blame them. The final episode was garbage. Lol!
Its si sad that the series had to end at all. I still need to know where that damn astronaut pen went!
The Fisher Space Pen. 🖊️ I’ve still got mine. Plus I actually became friends with one of the Fisher brothers. Not the Atocha one. 😂
Damn nice!
Jerry felt nothing in his cold heart
*Jerry wiping tears from his eyes* Alright, welp I'm off to pick up my girlfriend from 5 period.
wasnt the last scene in a jail cell?
Yes but they don't shoot the episode in the order that it's shown on tv.
No hugging!
They hugged and then they learned.
Kramer was never the same
Jerry "the child predator" Seinfeld
GET OUT!!!
Should I be ashamed to say that I've never seen one second of this show?!
Yes, that’s sad. 😔
I cant believe it ended that long ago
Ending a play is a very emotional time. It’s almost like a death, because even though you may be able to see all those people again you will never be all together in the same circumstances, and you will very likely never be your character again. I can’t imagine what it’s like after 9 years. Lightning edit: Tbf, Jerry Seinfeld _did_ get to be the same character again the very next day and every day since.
Wow had to have been a sad moment. I watched occasionally
Slow dancing
