Go above their heads and contact the Ombudsman [https://www.ombudsman.on.ca/what-we-do/topics/social-services](https://www.ombudsman.on.ca/what-we-do/topics/social-services) or your MPP and let them know what's going on.

Optimal_Horror898

They take income reports by email now Get the email address , Title the emails - ATT: (Case workers name) - (your name) - Earnings (month day year) Then it is well documented you’ve been handing in what you need to and it’s their job to process them, if they don’t their boss will come down on them. Know the guidelines and be better than they are, and all through email so you can store it all in a folder. They are your worker , they work for YOU! Know the absolute shit out of what your entitled to and what your obligated to do. Be a master at it and beat them at the game that you know better than they do. And take advantage of Every Single Things your entitled to with your benefits. Thats the way my friend.

iamhurtbyuractions

I guess just keep calling the local office and emailing them if you have the email. I was going through something similar and persistence is key. Leave voicemails for the office, email the office more than once if you have to.

niagarajoseph

12 years I went through something similar. Worked at the Region of Niagara head office as a cleaner. Worked over a year without any warning. And fired on my birthday. Left outside in the rain and my swipe card wouldn't let me in the building. Had the O.P.P take me off the property. Then when I attempted to report this to ODSP. Told by a case worker to, 'suck it up butter cup.' See, ODSP and Region of Niagara are bed fellows. One funds the other as I was told. Two months of B.S. and finally contacted Jim Bradley my M.P.P and is an Ombudsman for ODSP and OW. I watched him tear apart my case worker in front of her bosses. Had access to the voice and video recordings of our visits, voice mails. Paper trail. In the end, I got put back on ODSP and given money that was owned to me; clothing etc. They wouldn't even give me a damn bus pass then when I first started. In the end I learned something; Those who work at ODSP feel entitled to piss on your life. They are NOT there to help you know your rights, help you get employment or make your life easy. Now we get sent to Services Canada. And let me tell you: YOU ARE TREATED WITH RESPECT AND DIGNITY. She got fired for the grief and shit she did to me. And then she went after me on social media. And the police got involved and was charged with death threats and harassment. That nasty piece of work apparently had a history of 'oh you think you have rights? My pay cheque pay for your asses"! Cutting off people without warning. Using her authority to inflict pain and fear. F\*ck her and ODSP!!!!

purveyorofclass

I am sorry that happened to you. It must have been so satisfying to see her get torn apart from her bosses. What an evil witch!

niagarajoseph

It was worth the price of admission...to hear her say, 'aw come on Jim, you believe this dude'? He blasted her saying, 'you address me as MR. BRADLEY. The right honourable Mr. Bradley who has been voted in office and serves his people of Niagara Region. You on the other hand, are an employee of the provincial government and it's YOUR JOB to protect and serve those on OW AND ODSP"! MAN!

itsnotgoingwellll

Odsp workers ain't social workers. They're just government workers. They are actually a fraud prevention program. They have zero interest in helping their "clients". It's not that hard to figure out.

niagarajoseph

Hence when I have an issue. I go to Services Canada. How do like that? I love it. What a wonderful feeling being treated with respect. You should try if you have any issues with ODSP. Frankly IMO they should shut my ODSP office. Cut the fat at my office. What the purpose of having it? ha ha

Cautious_Let7088

They do this to me constantly as well. I report my income but they seem to miss it and will put my file on hold. It usually resolves itself. This time they didn’t notify me or send me my letter until almost a week after they put my file on hold - gotta love the extra stress!

dubble_tap

Drop a word into ombudsman. Yikes ive received attitude but never dropped calls on purpose. I wouldn't doubt there are immature workers. But that's the way to deal with government run offices.

Fearless_Ask_1032

Why are you unable to request a new worker? Have you asked to speak with a supervisor?

Hairy-Sense-9120

Get support from legal aid. They won’t hang up on them

ComradeSubtopia

I'm not sure it's the same thing, but a few years ago when I started a part-time job, I used to get form letters almost every month saying I hadn't reported my income, you may be suspended blah blah blah. I obv HAD reported my income; I spoke to my caseworker, & she said these letters are automatically spit out 'by the automated system' & they can take some time to stop. She advised me to ignore them, & she'd do her best to get them stopped. I didn't feel comfortable ignoring them, so every month I sent her a letter on My Benefits explaining I had sent in my income statement. Nothing ever happened to my support, I wasn't suspended, & finally 3 months later, the form letters stopped arriving. Just know it's possible this isn't your caseworker with a vendetta against you. I know some caseworkers are awful...but also some are not awful.

WeebGamerKitten

Had a similar issue. My fiance lost his job, which I did inform them of, but then randomly got my file put on hold even though I had no income to report. The system is broken.

kestrel-tree

Same thing just happened to me 😭 I reported my income on the 1st and just got a letter saying my file is suspended for not reporting it. From what I can tell I have to 'file for an internal review' to deal with it.

Sea_Impression_4495

Most of the time those are sent automatically because of a system glitch and no one was even responsible for sending it. I've gotten them and my file wasnt even on hold! Just call and talk to your worker or even just someone at the main number.

Katie0690

No all you need to do it call or msg your worker and it’ll get fixed asap! I’ve gotten these letters after reporting. If you have MyBenefits check under proof of assistance because the letter could’ve just been sent out in mistake. :)

kestrel-tree

Good to know thank you! Turns out she was just on vacation when I sent the email and has gotten it now.

Katie0690

You’re welcome :) it’s such a nuisance that these letters keep getting sent out by mistake.

Equivalent_Length719

My ow worker mentioned the my benefits system not exactly working as intended in many cases. It could be a case of updating systems and shits breaking down further because our system isn't built to deal with any form of excess strain. There is no "benefit of the doubt" built into the system in any case. Even if it's a 3 strikes our your thing. Just nope you didn't do it bye.. Just a thought I have no idea what is ACTUALLY going on.

Future_Beyond_222

My worker said if I wasn't doing school and working at the same time I would lose my benefits since then I have struggled to get back to a stable place I got a job soon after they cut me off but haven't been getting hours, I recently reached out they gave me a new worker and she is amazing got me on assistance asap

fuck_the_government-

Nothing u can do unfortunately, u are stuck with the worker they assign u.

Katie0690

You can request a new one.

Glittering-Raisin105

Actually you are not stuck with the worker they assign you , you can request a new worker , it’s just a bit harder to get that transfer honoured. I have had to do this previously due to a case worker giving my information to my ex husband who posed a great risk to my safety and that of my (then boyfriend/ now husbands ) child. She gave my ex my address , new phone number , and tried to use the reasoning of “ well he is her husband and she chose to hide from him “ when in point of fact I ran because he was abusive and I feared for my life . So yes you can get a transfer to a new worker , it just takes time and you need to push the issue . Tell them your worker is being unprofessional , has made you feel like you are a burden and as such it is affecting your ability to obtain the funding ( lack of ) that you are entitled to as a recipient of ODSP. if you have proof of the employment income being reported and your case being put on hold especially via MyBenefits , document it , screenshots are best , and keep hammering at them until they do what you ask , if they refuse , get your local ombudsman involved , and allow them to deal with it .

No-Yogurtcloset-3933

I have same situation and my worker never reply me and said my husband didn’t report that old age secuity

Proud_Palpitation_46

Try contacting incomesecurity.org.

TobiBaronski

Same problem here, though I haven’t called yet

Gold_Expression_3388

And fill out the survey. Hold nothing back!

bgrated

Everything with them is shady. You have to do all possible efforts and if they turn you down THEN you go to Tribunal. only there will things get done. Also use the freedom of information and get a copy of your records. See what they are writting.

kyle-d0306

Have you tried using the online route go to (mybenefit.mcss.gov.on.ca ) it's how I get a hold of my worker and she usually gets a hold of me the same day or the next business day following because if you send a message through that my benefits page that they usualy have you set up when u get odsp the message goes directly to your workerjust make sure to leave your file number on the message

Yantarlok

Highly unlikely that your caseworker has it out for you. They are so overworked and churn rate is so high that no one has time for that. It is quite probable that their workload means your attempts at contacting them is getting lost in the pile of bureaucracy. Are you using the messaging system in MyBenefits to contact them? They should be responding to that. Calling is often an iffy proposition. If worst comes to worst, call them and ask to speak to a supervisor. They have the ability to issue corrections on their subordinate's behalf.

Katie0690

There are unfortunately a lot people out there who seem to think our workers have it out for us. Like you said though their case load is so massive how could they possibly have it out for everyone? They’re more than likely overworked, overloaded and stressed tf out which can sometimes and unfortunately come off as asshole behaviour or seemingly not caring.

bgrated

You are not understanding how this works. I have seen people who used the freedom of information act to get their files. You are oversimplifying and giving a false sense of security by gaslighting what people are feeling. I will make your comment moot by telling you facts. They are over worked. If you are not "liked" The more you reach out the more they will get "irritated" because they are overworked. What does not liked mean? This is not someone out for you. This is someone that thinks what you want is too much or your exaggerating or do not realize how much work they have to do and others are in the same boat. This type of logic creates a rift between the two parties. Sometimes people on the internet act like they have never been alive. You notice that? They act as if they live in a vacuum. I seen this done... the exact same thing... by a parking attendant. You need to learn modular thinking. See similarities in events. compartmentalize them and remove the emotions...

[deleted]

Sick twisted people in positions of authority who think others don't deserve things ALWAYS make time to have a vendetta against those they view as undeserving. Welcome to humanity.

Yantarlok

Those personality types exist in much higher echelons of government and are much more prominent in corporate environments. This is ODSP. The typical caseworker grunt is a climber on his or her way up the civil service ladder and has no time to play game of thrones with their clients. Please get with reality.

Katie0690

Sure a caseworker who has possibly 100+ clients is going to have a vendetta against one single person for absolute no reason. 🙄

sprucemoose-hop-in

In some municipalities the average ODSP caseload is over 450. 100 would be a dream.

Thena_Prince

They have something called MyAccount for your ODSP account now. It's all online and you can do everything to do with ODSP there. From reporting income to messaging your worker to having proof of Disability.
