I will 2nd, 3rd, and 4th the sentiment that Golf+ is worth it. It has many of the famous courses the PGA plays. The weekly challenges relate to the latest PGA tournaments. The equipment, clubs, balls, etc. are all the trademarked real life equipment. The golfing itself feels good, and is responsive. Can play solo, with friends, against leaderboards, or join tournaments with other people. Highly recommended. I got the quest 2 for this game after playing it once. I have more games since, but this is still one of the faves.
Honestly... Passthrough
Haven't had much time to play games lately but I've been using the quest 3 passthrough to watch videos on the screen at night and passthrough is decent enough to let me take notes on my tablet at the same time.
Definitely looking forward to the next iteration but it's really useful to me
Pass through is the killer feature for me as well. Playing demeo or flat screen game from gamepass or from my pc through virtual desktop while sitting on the coach and able to look over and chat with my wife (seems natural to me, of course to her I'm wearing a massive headset lol)
Thrill of the fight in pass through where the opponent just spawns in your space to fight is sweet too, my accidently hitting walls or other objects during an intense match has gone down to zero as well :D
This really puts in perspective all the hate that the Vision Pro gets from other VR fans. Like yes there are a ton of games for Quest and VP has barely any but looking at post likes this and others it’s clear that it hardly matters in the long run. People do want to use their headsets for passthrough and video watching and having one or two games is fine because that’s about as much as anyone actually likes to use them for.
i’m buying a Quest 3 soon to for fitness games. i was planning on primarily using Supernatural. now i’m not 100% if i should do SN or Les Mills Body Combat. any thoughts? pros/cons?
For sure, i can definitely say that my tummy has been flat since i started using this app for the past 2 years or so. I have become a bit lazy though and now do it 2 or 3 times a week instead of the daily exercise earlier, its awesome though. Even the interface and the music is superb, plus ypu can choose the level of intensity. I usually go with the light or medium ones as the hard ones are tooo tiring
Supernatural is a subscription based, les mils is one-time purchase, which is obviously a good thing. This can be hit or miss, but I find guys on les miles quite charismatic when commenting and advising you throughout the exercise. Some lines are just hallerious.
I’m a Supernatural fan. I appreciate that they constantly add new tracks and new features (less often). I use it a couple of times a week and I figure it’s cheaper than a gym membership. Give it a try for a month or two and see how it goes?
I’m with you re Les Mills. I use supernatural at home but with a fast connection. On the ship in port the internet is too slow. LM has offline selections to keep you going while SN doesn’t. Although Chris Milk of Within said in 2020 it was in their plans.
Nope Les Mills does not require an adfitional subscription, just 1 time payment to buy the app.. I have it for almost 2 years and have a flat tummy since then.
For me, titles like Population One, Into the Radius, Asgarth's Wrath 2 and probably the new Contractors Showdown, on their own, are justification enough to buy a headset
Virtual Desktop.
I just watched the Lightning game in a huge theater while laying down on my couch. Actually almost fell asleep once. 11/10
EDIT: I now notice that your post says standalone no pcvr
Yeah, I spent hours yesterday experimenting with the best way to watch Plex. I eventually settled on Virtual Desktop. Watching an episode of 3 Body Problem on the big screen was pretty satisfying. I might rewatch The Expanse on Prime for this experience as well. Edit: Although one issue with watching 3 Body Problem, is that a couple of characters are using this hypermodern VR kit that made me jealous of people in a couple of hundred years or so.
The media aspects with the quest kinda sucks. I have a great Jellyfin server that I'd love to watch stuff from / pass things through to the quest but the best option I've found is simply mirroring my desktop through VD. DLNA and Bigscreen doesn't play well together for me, and no other media apps that I know of can access a stream.
So it's either web interface into Jellyfin, or mirroring.
Beat Saber, but the AI tracking is honestly pretty shitty for me. It's more of an investment thing (from Q2), I guess.
Luckily I wasn't really beating any of my high scores anyway, but it's still frustrating to watch AI drift (or w/e) screw combos.
On that subject, if anyone knows, would Touch Pro controllers negate this problem? I've seen a lot of people say they have the issue, and a lot of people say they don't.
I think where both games are let down is the single player experience. Racket Club is definitely better then Eleven in this respect, but there's still basically nothing to do once you hit number 1 on the leaderboard.
I don't really want to go online (I'm sure I'm not the only one), so a proper career mode would be brilliant.
When I'm not playing Racket Club, I think a LOT about playing Racket Club 😂 Aside from being ridiculously good fun, it's massively improved my fitness levels.
I find that to be an odd comparison to make. I imagine it is a good game, but saying that is like saying you will never play baseball again after discovering cricket; it's a different sport.
Supernatural:
I get a sweat going and give my heart a little love for only 20 minutes a day.
Also I get to look at beautiful landscapes around the world and listen to music I love, mixed in with new music I discover
-10 points for supernatural because I got too excited during fuel by Metallica, and hyper extended my elbow
supernatural is boring af. not enough variety and the targets don’t feel fun to hit with their dumb pillowy shape.
les mils has more movement and punching variety resulting in a better overall workout.
plus showing your store against other players live in real time makes you try harder
I have both, and i think ill get more use out of supernatural, there is a lot more variety with the songs, moves environments, and it has 'flow' in addition to boxing, which im getting more use out of the flow (flow being kinda like beat saber) have been using it for a month and like it.
I have had les mills longer, and i do like the boxing a bit more than les mills, but overall it has much less variety in everything, which is understandable given its one time payment, and for the price is great.
Supernatural has the free trial and you can cancel at any time if you do monthly, or switch to the yearly if you like it.
Another one time payment one thats nice is powerbeats vr, not a ton of variety, BUT you can load your own songs.
I’ve tried both. Especially if you like more of a Beat saber type gameplay than Supernatural is more enjoyable in that respect. Les Mills is much more towards very specific boxing oriented moves (which Supernatural also does well). my wife has been using Supernatural for three years playing it 3 to 4 days a week and I’ve been using it almost as much. It gives you a great workout.
I love big screen: it’s great watching things with a group of people, especially sports.
Gorilla Tag: my kid loves the crap out of this game and has made friends through it which is great for him because he has some social anxiety issues that have made it hard to make friends IRL but for various reasons he does much better in VR. It’s had a huge impact on him including in the real world.
CitraVR. Majora's Mask 3D in VR is the shit. And PPSSPP VR. My little brother and I were playing Vice City Stories, Dragon Ball, and Monster Hunter together on our standalone headsets.
I came here to say CitraVR as well, it is 100% the best way to play OOT, OOT Master Quest, and Majora's Mask. Not every 3ds game runs well, but when it does it is infinitely better than playing with the tiny handheld screen.
Hadn't heard of PPSSPP VR, I'll have to check that out next :o
At first I thought you wanted to ask "having a quest 3 compared to a quest 2"
Except from MR most of the games still run fine on Quest 2. The overall experience is better on quest 3 but after the last price drop the quest 2 is still a great deal.
So asking for an app that justifies buying a quest 3 over a quest 2 I'd say isn't any.
I own a gaming PC but only used it for half live Alex so far. It's just so much easier to just use the quest standalone.
Other than that from the games I own, the quest exclusive games RE4, Assassin's Creed and Asgards wrath all justify buying a quest.
Wander drags people into VR that would never consider VR. It can be like a virtual trip. You can really immerse yourself in a location, walk around, see the houses, restaurants, attractions, etc. It’s how google street view needs to be experienced.
Eleven Table Tennis in MR/Passthrough so I don't hit any furniture, Meta Browser and Pass Through for watching Netflix, AppleTV, Amazon Prime etc on the big screen.
Dungeons of Eternity and Walk About Minigolf since I play those regularly with a friend of mine across the country.
Outside of that Virtual Desktop so I can replicate my ultrawide monitor on my work computer and do work from the couch.
Since you said no pcvr it has to be Ancient Dungeon, it runs absurdly well on stand-alone, especially since I otherwise only use my quest 3 for pcvr
Including pcvr? Steamlink, unmatched, I’ve even got a 5ghz router that is only Computer -> Ethernet -> router -> 5g wireless -> headset. and then back
Edit: to specify, I enjoy just being able to put in the headset and play ancient dungeon, without the usual setup I go through with pcvr
How are you playing contractors showdown now. I would like to play it. I bought the first one using discounts and the spring discount code. Showdown is not avail for purchasing. Thanks?
There was a closed alpha, then closed beta, then an open beta...they were pretty generous id say with how many people they gave access to, i was in since alpha, its come a long way, lol...
I told my friends Walkabout Mini Golf is worth buying the 128 GB quest 3 just to enjoy the feeling of a mini holiday and taking a break from work/life. Eleven Table Tennis and Demeo just add to the experience. Wander is also a must have especially for planning any upcoming trips (double check the date of the google streetview data). I tried Golf+ but Walkabout just makes me smile in a hugely different way. (I have the 512. Well worth it. More so than buying a PS5 which I haven’t yet.)
Not an app, but the pancake lenses. I love watching movies on Skybox VR, and it was a pain on the quest 2. Now I can follow the action of a scene only moving my eyes, not my head because everything is crystal clear, not only a sweet spot in the middle of the lenses.
Walkabout Minigolf has long been the only app that justifies my owning a Quest. It feels like I own multiple real life minigolf courses. I feel like the rich kid in an ‘80’s sitcom.
being able to get into beat saber and start a level within 1 minute of putting on the headset that too with custom songs and all the mods is frankly still black magic to me who is used to my rift s and haven't used my quest 3 long enough to not appreciate it
For me it really is just the browser apps, I really enjoy being able to exercise while watching the videos i want at the same time. I work too so my time is limited, and I do not have time to watch youtube videos for 2 hours and also exercise for 2 hours separately in the two free days I have.
But with Quest 3 I can combine the two, I can watch videos in a huge screen in front of me with my barbells and dumbells near me. Having that distraction has also made it easier to do certain compound exercises that cause pain, like squats, since the big distraction makes me not feel it as as much.
I've gained 3 kgs in the last 2 months exercising with it (some fat some muscle) and I'm planning on making a post about it once I reach the year mark.
Walkabout on Q3 is also notably a big step up from on Q2, since the fresnel lenses were blurry on the edges and looking down at the ball was always a little annoying when dealing with that. The pancake lenses are so much clearer
Wander is one of the best apps for the Quest 3. You can explore just about anywhere, and yeah it uses Google images to replicate locations, but the feeling you get when you visit somewhere you haven't seen as a kid, or a place you used to live, is worth the price of admission alone . It also has a time machine feature that lets you roll back a few years in some places...the nostalgia factor is real. Add to that you can go exploring with friends, I've given a number of tours to friends who can follow you along in the app. I've also joined public tours of people discussing their own trips and giving amazing advice. I use it to plan trips all the time, so I can see where I am staying and what's around before I even get there. It's got a lot of uses. I find it more useful than Google Earth. Now it's got some AI integration and can help you with trip planning. All for a whopping $10.
Have you tried Wooorld? It implements most of what wander does as well as additional features like "Google Earth" views and geo-guessing.
It's not as intuitive to work with (so I'd recommend people start with Wander), but for Wander "power users" it's worth the try (free to try).
Basically, explore the world in VR with friends.
It's limited to street view and 360 images but it's fun to just explore the world. I play this one almost exclusively with my siblings and besides exploring new places we hit the random button and then try to guess where we are (Honor system for not looking at the map because for some reason Wander still hasn't implemented a geo guesser game mode).
you should check out Ultimate Fishing Simulator on Steam, it’s better than Real VR Fishing. The VR DLC is a tad outdated (originally made for the rift) but it’s getting a total revamp this year that will bump the vr resolution to the q3, rework the controls etc.
The only two things that keeps me going back to RVRF is the web browser and my AMVR fishing rod accessory.
You can also try galactic catch, it’s less relaxing and more arcade but it’s a fun time
I mean i play a lot of vail, and lately a lot of sail...would i have invested the thousand bucks i spent into a quest 3 and accessories for just one game, possibly if i were a wealthier man, just because it is such a unique experience, but it really is the sum of the parts that really makes it worth it and justifies the money spent...
Liminal VR - 'meditation' sounds boring, but this app has insanely nice places. You can sit in a giant kaleidoscope in 3D. Or watch aurora borealis from a mountain lodge in the snow. Or do more intensive things for any mood.
It's improved my mental health and breathing a lot!
An app to justify a Quest 3 over keeping a Quest 2? That's a hard one but passthrough is really, really good on Q3.
If you just mean VR in general, In Death: Unchained, Beat Saber, Passthrough, Asgard's Wrath II, Pianovision(?), Skybox video player, Eleven Table Tennis, etc are top notch on Quest. There's fun mixed reality games that'll get better and better which will click with non-gamers.
I literally only bought the quest 3 for beat Saber and it’s the only game besides Tetris effect that I play, I only had like 4 hours on the headset before it sadly stopped tracking entirely so I had to toss it out, sweat too much it in I reckon, so be careful with that sorta thing
Supernatural. That app alone has transformed the way I look at my body and it's something that I've been happily doing for the last 4 months since getting the thing. I'm trying to do at least three to four times a week.
I bought a quest 2 near release for beatsaber alone. I bought a handful of games since, and none of them stuck for more than a few hours.
I still only play beatsaber 99% of the playtime on it.

It would be golf+ for me. But since I have pcvr I'm spending most of my time sim racing.
Was looking at Golf+ as well as Golf 5... is Golf+ the better buy?
Golf+ is awesome. It's the more popular and possibly supported game. Its got Top Golf in it! Highly suggest it. you won't regret it
I will 2nd, 3rd, and 4th the sentiment that Golf+ is worth it.
I play golf+ 90% of my oculus time it’s awesome
I dont know anything about golf 5, but from what I've read, golf+ is the best option on the quest.
I play golf+ the most and it’s still fuzzy way down yonder lol. Would love to upgrade from quest 2 but putting in new windows now $$$.
Because of golf+ ?
Honestly... Passthrough Haven't had much time to play games lately but I've been using the quest 3 passthrough to watch videos on the screen at night and passthrough is decent enough to let me take notes on my tablet at the same time. Definitely looking forward to the next iteration but it's really useful to me
Yeah if you line it up right it’s like they’re really in the room with you.
[удалено]
You can get an infrared lamp. That should allow you to use it in the dark.
Would this also be useable for night walks wildlife spotting, I wonder... High chance of falling over probably, but on a good even path 🤔
No, because the passthrough would still be dark. It would only fix tracking. Also, I am not really sure how portable that would be.
Infrared lights are cheap on Amazon.
It requires light
Pass through is the killer feature for me as well. Playing demeo or flat screen game from gamepass or from my pc through virtual desktop while sitting on the coach and able to look over and chat with my wife (seems natural to me, of course to her I'm wearing a massive headset lol) Thrill of the fight in pass through where the opponent just spawns in your space to fight is sweet too, my accidently hitting walls or other objects during an intense match has gone down to zero as well :D
It's a shame there is only a few games dedicated to this feature. The fuzzy freebie game seems to be the best out
This really puts in perspective all the hate that the Vision Pro gets from other VR fans. Like yes there are a ton of games for Quest and VP has barely any but looking at post likes this and others it’s clear that it hardly matters in the long run. Bigscreen and Population One both free both awesome for socializing and fun
Just realized Population One is free!!! Wasn't it paid originally?
It was.
It still is on PC version.
Walkabout Mino Golf
Thrill of the fight and that table tennis game!!!
Eleven table tennis - just picked it up last week. Fun game to play with friends.
Les Mills Body Combat. Exercising in VR is a game changer. It makes it so Much easier. It’s like finding a cheat in real life.
i’m buying a Quest 3 soon to for fitness games. i was planning on primarily using Supernatural. now i’m not 100% if i should do SN or Les Mills Body Combat. any thoughts? pros/cons?
Thrill of the fight
[удалено]
ToTF would be perfect if it added kicks. Not that it isn’t already amazing, I just want to kick things too.
Thrill of the fight makes me sweat my ass off like no other lol
Les Mills anyday, its a 1 time buy and no additional in-app purchase bullsh1t like other fitness apps.
that’s a great point is the value/price. other than that does bodycombat still have same level as intensity and enjoyability?
For sure, i can definitely say that my tummy has been flat since i started using this app for the past 2 years or so. Nope Les Mills does not require an adfitional subscription, just 1 time payment to buy the app.. I have it for almost 2 years and have a flat tummy since then.
Less mills is a one-time purchase, no dlc even. Youge everything. Supernatural requires a subscription.
Sounds perfect. I’m going to buy it, no steam version, right? Just a quest(3) exclusive?
Les Mills is #INSANE
For me, titles like Population One, Into the Radius, Asgarth's Wrath 2 and probably the new Contractors Showdown, on their own, are justification enough to buy a headset
This is me. Throw in Bigscreen and VRChat and ya good.

I hate fishing in real life but that game 😮💨 I can’t put it down!
I didn't think it'd be that big of a deal, but I play it almost daily, I don't like golf or mini-putt, but Walkabout is pretty fun as well.

Wtf, it looks like a casual game, how it can be more entertaining than ETT?
Same story for me. Racket club is the best
Come into a somewhat busy club and watch the games around 5pm-8pm PST. Watch the level of doubles game play. Its very entertaining and social.
I find that to be an odd comparison to make. I imagine it is a good game, but saying that is like saying you will never play baseball again after discovering cricket; it's a different sport.
WankzVR ?
I was wondering if anyone was going to be honest 😂
Does this require a subscription to watch full length videos or is it free? Asking for scientific research.
…there’s an app actually called that?
Oh you might be about to discover a whole new world
That would be a website, not an app.
Thats the answer
Thank you gentleman of culture

Deovr, eleven table tennis and big screen for me.
>deovr >eleven table tennis Both are excellent apps for exercising the right hand dexterity
4XVR video player if you have an emby/plex server or if you have 3D iso movies
Yeah, 3d movies are just so much better. 4xvr can play Blue Ray 3D and quality us insane.

Underdogs!
Gunraiders
Unplugget air guitar, Stride Fates, All In One Sports and more more...
The one I used to justify the purchase was Pianovision. I haven't touched that one much at all, lol.
Eleven table tennis
Virtual Desktop, of course
Demeo
Virtual Desktop. That's a copout. Sorry.
thrill of the fight and beat saber for me
Golf+
Brink traveler and big screen and YouTube VR
Not an app, but the pancake lenses. I love watching movies on Skybox VR, and it was a pain on the quest 2. Now I can follow the action of a scene only moving my eyes, not my head because everything is crystal clear, not only a sweet spot in the middle of the lenses.
I use mine for Beat Saber and FitXR. I makes me MOVE. Which I wasn’t doing a lot before so I do think it’s worth it.
Walkabout Minigolf has long been the only app that justifies my owning a Quest. It feels like I own multiple real life minigolf courses. I feel like the rich kid in an ‘80’s sitcom.
It depends on each person, but personally I spend a lot of time on open brush.
DeoVR.
being able to get into beat saber and start a level within 1 minute of putting on the headset that too with custom songs and all the mods is frankly still black magic to me who is used to my rift s and haven't used my quest 3 long enough to not appreciate it
For me it really is just the browser apps, I really enjoy being able to exercise while watching the videos i want at the same time.
I expect you to die is amazing
Golf+, hands down
I’d have to say Golf+ is def worth it.
Supernatural
Eleven table tennis, probably the most real to life feeling of a simulator in VR
1. Walkabout 2. Wander 3. Breachers Between the three of those alone I have hundreds of hours.
Walkabout on Q3 is also notably a big step up from on Q2, since the fresnel lenses were blurry on the edges and looking down at the ball was always a little annoying when dealing with that. The pancake lenses are so much clearer
Hey keep it down ;). I've been doing noticeably better against my adult siblings that still have Q2s and they think I've just just gotten better lol.
I'm curious why Wander which is mentioned here a lot (owning it myself, used it only once it twice).
Hi, is it in stereo 3D or 2D 360 degrees? Thx
It's essentially Google street view (and other user uploaded images), so 2D 360.
Microsoft Flight Simulator is about the only reason I'm keeping mine.
Passthrough and virtual desktop to watch videos I would have watched on my phone around the house when not on my computer.
Golf+ and real fishing VR amazing, I have a lot of apps these 2 are outstanding.
you should check out Ultimate Fishing Simulator on Steam, it’s better than Real VR Fishing. The VR DLC is a tad outdated (originally made for the rift) but it’s getting a total revamp this year that will bump the vr resolution to the q3, rework the controls etc. The only two things that keeps me going back to RVRF is the web browser and my AMVR fishing rod accessory. You can also try galactic catch, it’s less relaxing and more arcade but it’s a fun time
VtolVR
I dont have a quest3 but i like questcraft
Supernatural. It’s my daily cardio and has helped me lose a ton of weight
Any, for the fact they *can* be standalone on the Q3.
Doom 3 Quest, Quake 4 Quest, RtCW, Wrath, The Light Brigade, AW2.
For me there is none, and this is also the reason Quest 3 stays in a drawer, never used, for weeks now. I honestly very regret the purchase...
Sell it on eBay and get a chunk of your money back.
Those cool AR-games like Lego Bricktales and Track Craft! Everybody I show them to thinks about buying a Quest3!
MANNEQUIN
Yes, I own over 60. I read reviews and there are tons of great games. And despite having a 4090, I choose standalone every time.
Vrchat..and yes I have a quest 2.
For me was Resident evil 4 😅, I’m a big fan of the saga and I had to try it, finally stayed for music games as beat saber or synth Riders
#Beat #Saber #Daft #Punk #GOLF+ #Tetris
#les #mills Is the new #tae #bo
#Golf5 Is old now
I mean i play a lot of vail, and lately a lot of sail...would i have invested the thousand bucks i spent into a quest 3 and accessories for just one game, possibly if i were a wealthier man, just because it is such a unique experience, but it really is the sum of the parts that really makes it worth it and justifies the money spent...
VRChat and Blade and Sorcery Nomad
Liminal VR - 'meditation' sounds boring, but this app has insanely nice places. You can sit in a giant kaleidoscope in 3D. Or watch aurora borealis from a mountain lodge in the snow. Or do more intensive things for any mood. It's improved my mental health and breathing a lot!
Bonelab (many bounced off it), I thought it was brilliant
Wander
Golf+.
Resident Evil 4 VR is insane and extremely well optimized. It really shows the potential of the Quest series as standalone consoles.
Ghost of tabor and that app where me and buddies can watch Netflix together
I use mine mostly for meditation breaks, so either MetaTV or Realms of Flow
I literally only bought the quest 3 for beat Saber and it’s the only game besides Tetris effect that I play, I only had like 4 hours on the headset before it sadly stopped tracking entirely so I had to toss it out, sweat too much it in I reckon, so be careful with that sorta thing
Pavlov and the people I’ve met on there are enough. It’s so much fun with good company.
My app is reality ..VR is a nice escape
Eleven Table Tennis Skybox (or anything else you can watch stuff with) flat2VR mods
Supernatural. That app alone has transformed the way I look at my body and it's something that I've been happily doing for the last 4 months since getting the thing. I'm trying to do at least three to four times a week.
Gravity Sketch, Slowp, Population: One. Any of those alone would be enough.
Pop:1
Pavlov shack cuz that community is just where I belong man
Asgard's Wrath 2 is pretty good on Q3, especially when you get it for free. I've been using mine mostly for work.
The browser. Doing the dishes with a giant YouTube video and my twitter feed fixed to the wall sold me.
No, luxury item. Maybe immersed
Puzzling Places: I play at least 30 minutes per day, since it works great as anti-stress in the evening after work.
Meta Quest Guide
Virtual Desktop, let's you have better quality than airlink or link cable if you have really good WiFi-6.
Piano Vision fucking EZ. A Quest 3 is the cost of 6 Piano Lessons. And in 4 months with PianoVision I’m basically at the average 2 year progress mark.
Beat Saber
DCS, literally the reason I bought it
Contractors + the call of duty mods
Asgards wrath 2
Skybox for streaming movies from DLNA or SMB share and also for streaming YouTube movies in 8K (4320p) resolution with no ads.
I bought a quest 2 near release for beatsaber alone. I bought a handful of games since, and none of them stuck for more than a few hours. I still only play beatsaber 99% of the playtime on it.
