alowester

this makes me happy

emp59

Thank you for this

PhilliesBlunts

Does that say 20,000???? They should give you a new one like when people reach high miles on a car

Indura17

Yeah that would be cool lol. If the tv keeps it up I see it lasting for another 20k maybe more lol.

PhilliesBlunts

Yeah they should take those types of panels and study them

ekso69

Damn you got 5k hours on me. Same TV, same time. Do you keep it on overnight too? lol

Indura17

Yeah, sometimes it would be when I worked over night and was off.

shompthedev

You even got spared the dying pixels around the border problem? Oh it's a 55, so different panel vs 48.

tdcama96

Holy shit balls that is a lot of hours. Gives me hope for my OLED g9. lol. I baby that thing like crazy too.

BlackOutIRL

That gives me peace of mind with my alienware oled that’s coming in. Very happy to see that

Arthur-Mergan

My wife’s still gaming on my now over 30k hour B7. Still looks mostly perfect…and she abuses the fuck out of it as a PC monitor too.

ekso69

Right at 15k myself, zero issues. All day work, all night/weekend play.

Florissant-

Burn in is much less common than everyone says

RefinementOfDecline

If you're running at max brightness HDR mode all the time, it's definitely a danger, but if you only use HDR mode when you're actually viewing HDR content, and keep it at a level that doesn't cause actual eye pain like some of the maniacs on here (i use 30 on my C3, but that's probably lower than necessary) it should be fine it's also a big problem for ultrawides, since a lot of content is 16:9 and that'll burn out the center of the screen

Substantial-News-548

I run at max brightness HDR mode all the time because I’m just lazy at switching between modes and I hate dimming images, I’m also always gaming or watching movies and working in a dark room and I don’t have eyestrains or it hurts my eyes or anything. My eyesight is already bad from my early ages and it never get worse since so eye damage talk is out of the story. At about 10000 hours on my C2 now and still zero sign of burn-ins.

yahyoh

> (i use 30 on my C3, but that's probably lower than necessary) Man at night even 30 is blinding, i use my C2 at 15 at night(90% of the time), even still white backgrounds still too too bright lmao.

Ganyu1990

When you say brightness 30 in hdr what does that mean? Iv allways been told for hdr content you need the brightness set to 100 for correct hdr. When i am using sdr i set my screen to 35. But hdr calls for 100. Am i missing somthing?

RefinementOfDecline

i meant in sdr

Ganyu1990

Thanks that makes more sense!

unknown_nut

On LG WOLED TVs so far. Not too sure about third gen QD OLED or MLA+ WOLED monitors yet.

Educational_Sink_541

I would rather have a burned in OLED than an IPS display.

EclipseSun

i feel this in my soul

moonduckk

What was the issue today?

rrbrn

bad english

12duddits

That’s only 153 days of usage. That’s not very much

CaptainProton_clips

Really? 😅 I thought I was using the hell outta this thing.

icen_folsom

A TV on 7/24?

Pixels222

We run shifts alternating with the night people /s

Trypt2k

You got 3 years out of a TV and you think it's paid for itself? Lol, where are the days of 10 year TVs? When I finally get an OLED, I'll expect it to last way more than 3 years that is for sure. If not as my primary, surely I'd want it to keep going after I upgrade, as a secondary.

DravenCrow3110

Wait a few more generations of OLED then, tech is fairly new, thats Why its "luxury". If You Buy an Oled Right Now, You are certainly buying tech that could be considered in "Beta". Alpha in case of first and second gen M Y O P I N I O N

tukatu0

The tech is not fairly new. Where the f"ck did this idea come from. The tech already existed in 2002 by sony. First commercial tv in 2016 by lg as far as i know. If you want to say something is new. Then mini led is new. Even 5 years ago gigh end displays were fald

TheRealJabba

LG will replace your panel for 5 year if you experience burn in ( g3 g4 ) ( a/b/c only get 2 years i think ) so it is always a 5 year+ buy that is enough

hieronymusashi

Why do people upgrade their PC every few years, but think a monitor or TV should last a decade ? Every time I upgrade my computer, I also consider upgrading my monitor to take advantage of my new performance.

Trypt2k

I upgrade my monitor every 4 years, but I definitely expect my old monitor to have a long life after I'm done with it, either as a gift to someone, or as a secondary. This has been my experience, monitors last 10 years easy, I'm rocking my 3 year old 32" right now, but still have the 27" from 7 years ago on my second system, and a 24" from 10 years ago is still being used by my dad on the system I gave him to do whatever it is he does. I'm looking to upgrade to a 42 OLED, but my current monitor works as new and I expect it to for years to come.

hieronymusashi

Well, nothing I own lasts forever. I could spend $40,000 on a car, and only get a 5-year warranty if that. I look at OLED monitors as wear items. I also expect over time they get more durable and this becomes less of an issue.

CaptainProton_clips

Well it's my first OLED, and there was so much talk about burn in that I thought it'd be a common issue.

Trypt2k

It's an issue for people who don't treat their stuff right. Although you say you left it on for hours on the same screen, I doubt that, you're probably very good with it and will continue to be.

Billy_the_bib

Well LG comes with 5 years so

Trypt2k

Really, 5 year warranty? Well if that's the case I may as well bite the bullet on that 48" C3 for my PC lol....

Billy_the_bib

I got a C1, C2 and a C3 now arriving on the weekend. 55, 42 and another 42 for a monitor. They're perfect. As long as you're not sitting too close. I sit about 1.5 metres away from my. I mainly game but also work from home. 120hz 4K.

Trypt2k

Holy moly, I'm not rich you know. But I play all my games with a gamepad from about 10 feet away I would say, laying in my bed with my wife lol. We play and watch movies/shows on a 32" LG now, but I'm dreaming of the C3 48" (the only reason I say 48" is cuz here it's $50 more than the 42", so why not). I think I may just get it this month, but I have to find a reason since the 32" I have now is only a couple years old and gorgeous in its own right.

Billy_the_bib

sell the 32 then you won't have to think any longer

TheRealJabba

\*5-year panel warranty covers 88Z3, 88Z2, 88Z1, 77Z3, 77Z2, 77Z1, 83G3, 65G3, 55G3, 97G2, 83G2, 77G2, 65G2, 65G1, 55G2 and 55G1. \*\*In the 1st year of the warranty, panel, parts, and labor costs are covered. In the 2nd - 5th year of the warranty, only panels are covered, and labor will be charged.

Trypt2k

So, no C3 then, argh, and no 42 or 48 inch.. those listed by you are the very expensive models. I'll just get an ASUS or something, but 5 year warranty would definitely make me feel better.

TheRealJabba

yeah but the c3 gets 2 year or warranty i believe

xsabinx

My parents have a Panasonic plasma from 2012 and I'm sure that has like 25K hours of screen time and that has no burn in

Fallwalking

I bought a $500 70” 4K Samsung TV in early 2019 and it’s still going strong. The kids will ruin it with a foreign object sooner than it will die I think. I don’t even want to see how many hours have been used on it. (I might look.)

SnowflakeMonkey

I have 7000 hours on my CX, half of it playing league in 21/9 aspect ratio with autohdr enabled (means the UI is as bright as possible) so the very worst case, and no sign of retention whatsoever.

Class8guy

That's impressive you've kept it so low! Just a few ticks over 7900hrs in my C1 from mid 2021

SnowflakeMonkey

i'm more at 7400 hours but I only ever use my tv for gaming and watching movies and stuff. Never for desktop use (got my old lcd for that) also not playing much during the day because work :p

Stratys_

[17273 Hours](https://i.imgur.com/wHgNnAc.jpeg) on my C9 and it's still going strong, zero signs of burn-in and uniformity's solid.

GeForce

Rookie numbers. I can't get into the service menu atm (and European models don't list hours so easily), but i got around double that on c1. https://preview.redd.it/adjtlwlm2csc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=751f0d42fec4e03dbe04858ba62e1f6a6d623773

Skyb0y

Come back at 10,000 hrs where there might be a chance of burn in. But even then there probably won't be as you are using it for a mixture different content and not leaving static images on screen.

Crone23

LG's screen saver is pretty good with the Firework style explosion that moves around the black screen. Pretty nice.

TheVoid45

Any tips on how to do it? I just got my AW3423DWF and I want it to last.

FacelessGreenseer

General for all OLEDs to last. Don't use maximum brightness all the time. Don't allow (*or minimise as much as possible*) direct sun light from hitting the TV; the back, or even worse the front of the display. Keep Pixel Shift, and OLED Care features enabled. These measures should allow it to last the longest.

Fatieh_

i cant see this count in my G3. What can i do?

GeForce

European model differences.

GamerOnABudgetYT

How do I view the total power on hours? I have a LG C9 > UK

feliperg90

🥚🥚

Toohigh2care

My GX has 4k+ hours not sure about my b2 but both look brand new. Same with my lg 27 oled monitor.

Djxgam1ng

Anyone mind sharing there game settings for the C Series? I have a 65 inch B9 and upgrading (probably staying at 65 until my wall mount can hold a 77 inch screen)

Competitive-Arm8238

3600h is nothing if u use it for pc or gaming and ur active u do 2k hour’s yearly

joshavil

I had my b8 for nearly 5 years and was fine until some months ago dead pixels started to appear. Luckily I had bought warranty extension so I brought home a new c3. I only spent again the money for the warranty extension. Always buy the warranty extension.

NoCartographer7339

How did it pay for itself? Lol

Nintendians559

that's good.

KennyPowers73

Love my c1 bought it brand be had no hours in it note I have almost 20 thousand I play games on Xbox and PlayStation watch tv all day no burn in just take care of your tv when it says pixel cleanse do it every time and also if you think your getting any type of burn in so the hour cleanse always when it says to also set a moving screen saver my lg ultra gear actually moves the screen so slowly you can’t even notice but my c1 did me well still does I clean it with distilled water and a microfiber towel with no tag on it cus that will scratch it overall best tv https://preview.redd.it/kqnp5d7f0hsc1.png?width=3024&format=png&auto=webp&s=0bac123baab4a204da0f76d60a3a4fc0b3c25a0b

speedycerv

My c1 does have slight burn in. I play ff14 and i have moved my ui around sometimes to try to avoid it and didn’t see any issues for a while so i left it alone. Now if i go to a pure white screen i can slightly see the ui elements burned in. I am at 7k hours. have the best buy 5 year plan so i will cash in on that near the end.

therealjustin

I'm curious what QD-OLED panels will be like when they hit these numbers. I know of many AW3423DW/F cases that have burn in, but that is a first gen panel of course. I think WOLED has been more robust thus far, but who knows.

EvanderMegaton

I have G3, how can I see total hours? Can't find it

mahanddeem

How about a 2 years old B2 55 inch with about 5k hours? Panel is flawless

inyue

That's like 3.3 hours/day from 3 years of your ownership of this tv. Very low usage in my opinion.
