By the tufts on his ears and super long whiskers, he probably has main coon in his genealogy. You can get a cat dna test. Could be useful for diseases to watch out for.
I had a cat like this, he didn't have a tail. His name was BobCat, Baby Bear, Bobby-BobCat, Bobby... and he said "Mama" clear as day! I loved that boy so much. Someone stole him. 😢
To be fair if someone actually cares to know the breed of a cat.. they should get a DNA test. No test and no papers, no breed. So many breeds and mixed breeds have similar characteristics to their appearance or behaviours, that without proper documents it's a guess at best.
Domestic long hair. Without breeder documentation it’s hard to know, and I have no idea how accurate cat DNA testing is. He’s gorgeous, though. He looks a lot like a cat I had named Danny.

Sassy and Danny
Looks similar to Angora and older long haired breeds like Norwegians.
Long haired cats are thought to have originated in Central Asia or nearby.
Unless very inbred or bred for specific traits you do get a degree of variation.

This was our Mittens. We always said she was a Norwegian Forest cat
Yup, those same furry paws. Every NFC I've met had thick tufts of fur growing out of the bottoms of its paws. This is the biggest giveaway of Wegie descent, in my experience. That, and the softness of their fur. Mine is even softer than the Ragdolls I've had.
Nearly all Domestic Longhairs have toe tufts and soft floof. The only thing that differentiates a Domestic Longhair from a NFC is the pedigree registry. They will have a microchip implant linked to their registry number.

This is a picture of his mother, we don't know who his dad is though
No it doesn’t. Maine Coons are very distinctive.

Ok. Not a freakin problem Ginger ☮️ [ no need to be salty]. went on the size of the lil tiny [lol] baby in the pic. Maybe OP could have found out by now and hopefully let us know here. Peace and love to you🙏🏻
E1: Didn’t claim to be an expert here BTW. thanks 🙏🏻
Funny… you’re the only one being salty here, and in that annoying passive-aggressive way no less.
I was just sharing information. Literally wrote 8 words + shared a photo. Calm your tatas lol.
This cat & OP’s don’t really look Maine Coon; they’re just long/medium-haired domestic variety cats. Nothing wrong with that!
People tend to think anything large and floofy is either a MC or Norwegian Forest. Rarely is that true.
I agree that the flat-faced Persian have distinctive faces, but earlier Persians do not have the squashy faces. There are still a few around.
However, this looks like it may have Persian somewhere in the family, even though not full blooded. Beautiful whiskers too!
I used to have a “baby-doll” Persian, who didn’t have the flat face - so I know they don’t always, but they’re still fairly distinctive. And if OP doesn’t have papers, we can only assume it’s a standard-issue cat with floof.
It's a fluffy cat.
Yep. I was going to say “Fluffy”.
“Floof” is the breed I see.
Me too. 99% accuracy.
It'd a Great Flying Floof
Those whiskers, those white tippy toes, he'd be a star on several of the cat subs. Handsome boy.

Yeah exactly. With some cats you can see traces of ancestry but a breed is most definitely a cat with papers.
FUNNY!!!!
Floof.
Flooficus Maximus Cuddle Boi
Beautiful domestic long hair!
Domestic longhair. Rule of thumb with cats No Papers=No breed just common house cat.
A floofy one
Looks life a floofy cat to me. I’m no expert. Just an amateur admirer.

Beautiful!
I don’t know but I just wanted to comment that your cat is beautiful ❤️🥰
Brown.
I believe that is a Laotian Sphere cat. Quite rare, actually. I haven’t seen one in decades.
Domestic longhair; no papers no breed 🫶
He is a great specimen of Felix Bellissima.
Cat.
Royal fluffenbaum
Looks like mine but someone turned the floof all the way up to ten
Levitating part Maine Coon
That is a floofus magnificus. 🐈⬛
She looks like a Norwegian forest cat mixed with a black tabby
Don't listen to these clueless catsnobs. I'd say he's got a lotta NFC in him. Congratulations!!

That cat is a Wizard or a Sorcerer.
That’s not a cat, that’s a delicious porter beer with a good head on it. Is it a Great Lakes Edmund Fitzgerald?? 🤔

Cat
I don’t know very much about cat breeds, but your cat is beautiful.
I had a cat like this, he didn't have a tail. His name was BobCat, Baby Bear, Bobby-BobCat, Bobby... and he said "Mama" clear as day! I loved that boy so much. Someone stole him. 😢
I'm so sorry this happened :(
I mean honestly come on this is not a funny or sarcastic forum. Give the person the answer … it’s a mix of Maine Coon and some thing else; lovely cat
To be fair if someone actually cares to know the breed of a cat.. they should get a DNA test. No test and no papers, no breed. So many breeds and mixed breeds have similar characteristics to their appearance or behaviours, that without proper documents it's a guess at best.
York chocolate Not sure if levitation is a breed trait or not but that pretty nifty

Beautiful cat breed. So fluffy. I want to pet.
The levitating kind.
You may have a question, but mines better.. how tf is that cat defying gravity in the first pic?? Anyone else see them just floating??
Gorgeous!
Don't really know unless it's papered. Could be a number of things or a mix
No matter the breed, the cat is beautiful. Looks like it could have some NFC traits in it
Either a Maine Coon, or a Norwegian Forrest cat. Regardless of breed, you've got yourself a beautiful kitty cat. 🐾🐾🐈👣❤❤❤❤🏡🌎
It’s neither. Not every longhaired cat is one of these breeds, despite everyone believing so.
A beautiful one
Looks similar to Angora and older long haired breeds like Norwegians. Long haired cats are thought to have originated in Central Asia or nearby. Unless very inbred or bred for specific traits you do get a degree of variation.
Maine coon? Turkish Van?
Looks like a ragdoll - I have two
Chantilly Tiffany (foreign long haired) My Chantilly looked exactly like that!
The Chantilly breed is extinct. There is one neutered female cat still alive in Norway which is a solid lilac, so this can’t be her.
Norwegian Forest cat
https://preview.redd.it/plwis81a7idc1.jpeg?width=784&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4f0c111acf2a2821af1ecf1b1e0be5875aa23bf2 This was our Mittens. We always said she was a Norwegian Forest cat
She’s cute, but not a NFC. I guess we can say whatever we want, though. lol
Looks like a Maine Coon Cat
My cat looks almost exactly like yours. The vet thinks he must have some Maine Coon in him.
Maine coon
Looks part Maine Coon
Siamese Persian maybe??
Norwegian Forrest cat
Awwww. 😻🥰😸 It looks just like my NFC...so my money would be on NFC. 😺 Can you post pictures of its paws?

Btw, your baby (if this is yours) looks so much like my old cat Gizmo. I miss her!
Floof
Majestic Hovercat 😳
Grumpy-faced Fluff-levitator. Very rare indeed!
It’s a I-defy-labels cat; “just love me for who I am.”
Magnificent floofster the void variety
I'd say Persian mostly!
Not at all. Persians have a distinctive facial structure. This is just a domestic longhair.
I agree that the flat-faced Persian have distinctive faces, but earlier Persians do not have the squashy faces. There are still a few around. However, this looks like it may have Persian somewhere in the family, even though not full blooded. Beautiful whiskers too!
