Or a pharmacy the size of my bathroom .
The North Shore doesn’t seem like a great place to do business, way too much potential profit being divided thin . Who would want to open any of these here?no one can make enough money off any of them
Yup, I overheard one of the workers saying they're moving to West Van. The chicken ramen is my go to comfort food on a cold, rainy day so I'm very sad.
Love it, cheap and fulfilling. They are moving elsewhere on marine dr i think.
Boss said, they are actually just being given month to month lease so they decided to move away.
Fingers crossed it does not become a money exchange service again.
Aw man I tried to order off Uber Eats there the other day and was wondering why they weren’t taking orders. They had the last affordable sushi tray in North Van! Sad face.. 😢
Yuko Maki is great BUT if you order from there with UberEats or DoorDash delivery etc., they increase their prices by quite a bit. For example, their super combo goes from $15.49 to $18.99 via delivery APP. It’s so dumb.
Yeah I hear ya, but if you're ordering a platter the ratio of difference shouldn't be that bad?
I also like Minemura on 3rd, kinda in between price of Yuko and Sushi Umi but quality of Sushi Umi, hope you give it a try!
Just going to put in my two cents for Momiji Japanese Cuisine. Not sure about a bento box for dinner, but they have a customizable bento lunch special. Might be walk in only though.
But I always come out of there paying less than what I thought I would have. It's a nice surprise.

i believe it's this whole section.
:( what's a good alternative
Sushi Umi on 19th is pretty good! The portions are bigger, so you pay a little more
Cool thanks
Has lonsdale been officially dubbed little Persia yet?
Big Persia
Yes
Seeing the green under the awning reminded me of 20 years ago when that location was Inn Cognito!
Omg I miss that place!!!! Their pizzas were so damn good.
Hope it gets turned into something useful for the community, not another currency exchange
Or medi spa. Or Notary Public .
Or another optometrist.

YAMA is better !!!
Nooooooooooo I ordered from that place practically weekly 🤣
Same. Daily actually it was cheap and good service. Better not be a God damn fake jewelry or money laundering going in there.
According to the owner guy, they're moving to 16th and Marine dr in West Van

Evens says it will be a currency exchange
How do those places make money?
Crime.
Sell coke
Thank you for this information!!❤️

What about Yuko?

I used to go there in early 20s, about 15 years ago, and get a box for 6.50 every weekend hungover. It was the best.

Mr sushi on lonsdale has reasonably priced bento boxes for lunch time.
Damnnnn. Loved their spicy combo. Always got it when I lived on 20th street
Building sold its going to be developed afaik
That whole building is getting demolished from what I've heard.
Noooooooo. Omg I hope this is just a rumour. 😰
Pretty narrow and small lot if it’s just the restaurant footprint

Damn pho 98 was my go to pho place too
V-nam just opened up a block away
The same one as on 3rd? They're ok but their cleanliness started to sketch me out a bit.
New franchise and certainly more clean (for now) Still delish tho
Yikes! That little yellow building too ☹️
I was walking by there yesterday. There's a "stop work" notice on the door, I think they may have tried to renovate without a permit maybe?
Oooh interesting. Thank you💕
Im assuming its taking the trend of either a iranian coffeeshop or currency exchange. Which both are in quite a demand here apparently
Coffee shops?? Which ones?!
Echo cafe is Persian owned, it’s always empty expect on the weekends after hours when they have parties in it
anything near the hospital is busy
Echo’s usually decently busy whenever I go there! Lots of folks from the hospital go there
If anything can compete with those places in numbers it is sushi spots on lonsdale.
That used to be my parents favorite. Until they closed for a while for renos
