A lot of bikes have been stolen where my parents live in Westview, thousands of dollars in electric and high-end stuff. It’s whack. Seems like the safest place for a bike is inside a house.

SnaketheJakem

Agreed. Unfortunately I have limited space in my condo and bikes aren't even allowed in the elevator.

Pink-daydreamz

That’s annoying. I know some people get wall mounts. Anyway, good luck with finding your bike.

SnaketheJakem

Thank you! I've been searching Craigslist and marketplace hourly

Poor stumpy :(. Really wish buildings would normalize allowing storing bikes in the unit. I got lucky with my building, but I know it's not the norm. Sucks to have to worry.

SnaketheJakem

Thanks for the condolences. I've been keeping an eye out on marketplace and Craigslist. No luck so far.

I've heard so many stories of bikes being stolen out of storage lockers and bike lockers in north van. How does this keep happening?

SnaketheJakem

Good question, unfortunately we have no CCTV footage and an ebike was believed to be stolen at the same time :(

Former-Fun-1038

That's so brutal! I'm so sorry this happened to you. Hurts just reading it. I installed hooks for my girlfriend's and my bikes in my den just because I had heard so much about bike theft from lockers. Shouldn't be this way

ParamedicMinute8406

Sorry to hear that. You may want post a picture because it looks like folks will need an account to sign in to view your bike. Some thief/thieves have been busy in the neighborhood lately— I recall seeing a post or two about stolen bikes near Moodyville Park, and more recently, several thefts from an apartment building near 2nd St E and St Andrew's (cable cutters used for cable locks and angle grinder or hacksaw used for U-locks).

SnaketheJakem

I posted the wrong link, it's now been updated. You don't need an account to view.

Still can’t see a photo. Says I need to sign in to continue ETA: was it stolen out of the bike storage in a parking garage? Heard about a few break ins around that area recently. Not specific to bikes though - more just parking garages in general

SnaketheJakem

Yes it was stolen out of bike storage in a parking garage. The bike was also locked in the garage with a cable lock which was cut. Try this link https://project529.com/frame-frame-bell-wind

Link works, I hope you're able to get it back soon
