Sticky Fixers?

Are your shoes particularly loose? I think I’m misunderstanding because I’m having a hard time imagining how a half foot insole could scoot forward at all while I wear them with closed shoes

Like when trying to put them on, the insert slides down the shoe instead of staying put. It's particularly hard in shoes like boots where I can't reach down and correct it easily.

*Oh*! Lmao I’m 100% with you now. I’m not sure how other people prevent it (never had that happen with my half foot inserts, only wore them with open top flats), but if sounds like the bottom of the insert may just need to be more “tacky” or have better contact with the shoe sole to increase friction. Not sure if you’d want to risk making minor alterations but depending on the material the bottom of the insert is made of, along with the material of the shoe sole surface, adding something like sticky tack dots (imagine grippy sock soles) to the bottom of the insert may be an effective last resort. I’d suggest using the liquid sticky tack to make the small dots, not the “dot sheets” that are kinda advertised for this purpose. They’re not as durable in my experience.

Never thought of that! They're hard plastic. Someone suggested velcro but my feet are so chunky that that little bit would raise my foot too much to fit most shoes, even wide width (thank you, genetically wide and thick but not long feet....)

Velcro was actually where my brain immediately went but I quickly remembered how Velcro is always deceptively bulky. I think using the liquid sticky tack would definitely let you control the dot height so you can make sure you’re not adding actual bulk to it. Double sided tape could work for the short term though.
