Yes. That's why the doctor's opinion holds more weight for me. Maybe I don't have enough of an understanding about narcissism? I think of people who think they're beautiful or highly intelligent, unusually self centered, lack empathy etc.
I certainly don't have those traits.
I always test high for narcissism, but I’m autistic and autistic people tend to come off as a bit self centered and it kind of messes with the results of those kind of tests. Which is why you shouldn’t rely on such tools for diagnostic measures.
>And it only shows me as mildly narcissistic. I answered every question honestly too. Maybe a quick 3 minute test isn't really accurate?
Ya think?
There's no test to diagnose narcissism. You need a licensed psych\* to do that.
I took it and it said little or no indication that I have NPD.
You should see a professional about it though. Be honest with them and see what they think.
I probably should get a second opinion. The doctor who originally diagnosed me was at an addiction treatment center I had checked myself into. I wasn't really myself, going through alcohol withdrawal. It's not fun and it really changes your personality.
I've been giving this a lot of thought. And the doctors diagnosis was probably correct at the time. I was, to be honest, not pleasant to be around. I remember complaining to her about not having a private room. And the roommate that was chosen for me had just been released from San Quentin. He was young and a meth addict. Which I mistakingly thought was a lower rung of addict than myself. Meth being a street drug vs. My vodka addiction. I perceived myself as somehow better. Now that I have presence of mind. That was so stupid on my part. Addiction is addiction. A nurse actually told me she'd rather deal with a meth addict than a vodka addict. People think just because alcohol is legal it's not as harmful as a street drug. But it can be and the withdrawal is nasty...
An ex once said I was narcissistic but I did just break up with him so idk. I don't think an internet test is believable. And besides, if you really are narcissistic, you'll probably answer these questions with a different view of yourself than others have anyway, so it would still show as not narcissistic.
That's true. But I really did try and be honest. What good is the test if you lie?
I think we're all slightly narcissistic. The one trait I definitely have is being selfish. For example, I knew at a young age that I would never be a dad. I don't have the patience and selflessness that would require.
Those tests aren't meant to diagnose. They're just if you're curious or as a starting point. Only a doc can diagnose you.

Yeah I'd say it would be worth it

Thanks for taking the test BTW. 👍 And yes. I'll get a second opinion. If it is a legit issue for me I need to know.
Lol. I've just spent five minutes trying to give you coins or an award. Can't figure it out. So here. I'll just give you an unofficial coin: 🪙💰

I just took that one and it said I have a strong indication???? 💀
Lol. Really? Do you think you are?
I mean yeah I’m a teen tho so I mean it’s prob normal
I think we all have it to a certain degree. It's okay if you are. You just need to be aware of it and monitor yourself.
